- axelgrease, on 12/13/2008, -0/+12I liked the DIY military ammo waterproof box
- talkingwires, on 12/14/2008, -0/+7I have a darkroom constructed in my bathroom. There are jars of chemicals piled in my hallway and an enlarger taking up most of my closet. I don't think "DIY Photography" means what it used to mean....
- Thumper13, on 12/14/2008, -0/+7Here's a tip.
Don't try to get on the Flickr homepage. It's a popularity contest and plenty of amazing photos never get on the front pages. It's OK.....shoot for yourself. - inactive, on 12/14/2008, -0/+6Dugg for not saying "Top 10 best".
- Zapita, on 12/14/2008, -0/+5ready, set, shoot!

- crazzy88ss, on 12/14/2008, -0/+4these tips were all very.... lackluster.
- abajaj2280, on 12/14/2008, -0/+3woah, the time lapse video is amazing; SO much happens in a couple days there
- BossKey, on 12/14/2008, -1/+4I wouldn't just say "go out and shoot in M" any more than I would say "read a tutorial." You do need both. You wouldn't want to send someone out with the dial stuck to M without drilling them first on "shutter speed is for motion, aperture is for depth of field, ISO is when you can't set the first two the way you want and still expose it correctly." Without that pre-obtained knowledge, you don't know *why* it was better to turn the shutter speed dial rather than the aperture dial in a specific situation.
- jstem1994, on 12/14/2008, -0/+2I would say "go out and shoot in Program" first. Then once you've gotten comfy with composition & the camera itself, then "go out and shoot in A or S", having read a short description of each.
Then compare the images & learn from your shooting. Then go shoot some more! - norcalscan, on 12/14/2008, -0/+22. Girls
- WinMacLin, on 12/14/2008, -0/+2Some very good tips on there for first timers. I recently bought a DSLR, I found Tip number 2 especially helpful for deciphering all the different settings and how they can be used in combination for great pics. Good Article.
- JerodSlay, on 12/14/2008, -0/+2With respect to learning how to use a camera, the best thing to do is just go out and shoot in M. Reading tutorials doesn't give you the instinct of learning it yourself through experience.
- jordantneff, on 12/14/2008, -0/+2I'm not even really into photography and I thought this was pretty cool
