- fotowca, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Wouldn't the stash card just make it so that when your laptop gets stolen you loose all your cash to?
- gwjc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13The StashCard is nice; be better if it didn't actually say StashCard on it, but I guess that's easily fixed; actually that would be a nice little MAKE anyway.
- ZapWizard, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Anyone sick of the top ten gadget posts where half of the products are concept renderings
- armbar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13http://duggmirror.com
*will redirect to the correct URL - kennyvader, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Half the items seemed quite good, but a good number of them are complete vapourware! Sucks.
- dustedbunny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Awesome article. I might even get that Astone’s “Traveller" washing machine for my apartment! It would definitley be cost effective since I don't pay for my water bill. Thanks for the great digg!
- genericwhiteguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8No, actually it won't be loose because it is in the laptop, but you might "Lose" your cash...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6all of the "top ten gadget" lists posted recently have been from TechBlog...
- JibberJabber, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Well, it was a slow news day yesterday.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6My best travel gadget is my backpack. It has a dorky little slip on one of the shoulder straps for my cell phone, my camera case is also dorkily mounted on the strap.
Inside my backpack lives my laptop, psp, ipod, passport and whatever book I'm reading.
I did see a *very* cool backpack at MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) in NYC, it had solar panels and you could charge most of my devices off the backpack whilst wandering around confused and lost in any of the many cities I've seen. I would have bought it except $300 for a backpack with 20 year old technology sewn into it is kind of retarded. - notfred, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Hey, I was a fool and expected a useful article, okay?
- ravitek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Aches and pains will be a thing of the past with this magic chair. Never has something inflatable provided so much pleasure."
I need to get my mind out of the gutter :|. - Tonyisbad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Damn it that portable washing machine would of been great for when i was in college and it costed me 5 bucks every other week to wash two loads of laundry, that money could of been better spent alcohol to forget how much i'm gonna be in debt after i graduate...
- JonGretar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6So when are we getting the top ten list of top ten gadget lists?
Seems like everyone is making these now days. Some more than one. - ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Some of those are cool... I was thinking it was more like gadgets for the *act* of traveling, not living while away.
I would have expected to see these, at least:
Some personal media player (iPod video, or other)
GPS / navigation system - rauz, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10It didn't for me. Here's the correct url.
http://www.duggmirror.com/technology/Top_10_Coolest_Travel_Gadgets_/ - imtigger2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Dammit! you beat me to it!! I was thinking "ha! false advertising! have they never heard of inflatible sheep?"
- topbravo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Dude, That is exactly what I put in mine... I also have a USB cable for each of those devices and I carry a 12 cell version of my laptop battery in there..
- TugsMcgroin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3No GPS? For shame!
- adminmatt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6that doesn't make in inaccurate...
i hate people like you who are in a hurry to mark everything inaccurate... there is nothing inaccurate about the article... learn the definition of inaccurate before you say it again. - Xinareiaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Same thing crossed my mind
- Dhalgren, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5This is a lame list...
I expect more from you, JibberJabber... - turbodigg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i wonder if a condom fits in the stash card........
- chrono13, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Imaginary credit card computers and a blow-up washing machine are more important tech gadgets to a traveler than an mp3 player, cell phone or laptop?
This list is terrible. - phlydwg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I love the inflatable washing machine... and for only $70!
- LabRat777, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That hat is the geekiest most pimp thing I have ever seen.
- bat-21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What a half-assed list!
One geek travel item I've been recommending to everyone is a USB Universal Travel Charger.
http://www.boxwave.com/products/versacharger/index.htm
http://www.ziplinq.com/retractable-cable-pwr.html
NOTE: the Boxwave costs more because it has a built in surge protector.
Pair this with a mini USB hub and you can charge up to four devices from a single outlet. The only bad thing about it is that it looks like a dildo. - topbravo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Why do we need all these things if PS3 can do it all and then some???
- rasterbator, on 10/12/2007, -8/+9What if I already HAVE a beer belly?
- Peepsalot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They've actually been around for quite a while now. I remember my stepfather buying one of these about 7 years ago. The product just never really took off cause, well... just look at it.
I wouldn't wear one. - maiku00, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Exactly. PS3 has rendered everything but the CLOTHES ON YOUR BACK obsolete.
- KenG6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"two solar panels that generate 13W — 14VDC/750mA — of power"
Watts = Volts * Amps = 10.5W. Something doesn't add up. - KingMeatwad4th, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hey for 9 bucks for that mp3 player, that sounds like a steal. Although I wonder how much it costs to ship the thing from Japan to the US. I wonder if there is a resellersomewhere closer?
- chrisrosa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1weaksauce. three of the items are vapor/futureware.
- DoMaGe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have one at the lake. When it's stinking hot and there's no wind, I don't care what it looks like.
- Daniel591992, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice spam link. You could at least try to hide it...
- maiku00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The inflatable washing machine is pretty cool. I wonder how good of a job it does?
- GoddessofTravel, on 06/24/2008, -0/+0Sign me up for the credit card with phone and camera. Can it be solar battery operated? Can it also have GPS and IPOD and Web-cam, email, etc. The one item that will take care of all my technology needs?
- roamingsims, on 03/30/2008, -0/+0Yes, i like these Coolest Travel Gadgets, but i want to say one thing don't forget to bring roaming sim one of the most important thing like other gadgets when you go to abroad, because roaming sim reduce your roaming call rates upto 80% or more, you can check all roaming sim card rates and roaming charges at http://www.roamingsims.com. It will help you to select best roaming sim.
- nikeboy32, on 05/22/2008, -0/+0Inflatable massage chair...awesome!
- loithitham1, on 05/27/2009, -0/+0Awesome article. I might even get that Astone’s “Traveller" washing machine for my apartment! It would definitley be cost effective since I don't pay for my water bill. Thanks for the great digg! http://diadiemgiaitri.com
- CoreAfrica, on 06/26/2008, -0/+0i NEED a cooling Pinth NOW! :)
- culbeda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Anyone else think storing your valuables in your laptop (the one thing most likely to get stolen on a trip) is a BAD idea? And that's assuming you could actually FIT anything in it.
As for the rest of the list: 10) how often do you need a pith helmet? 9) doesn't exist yet 8) eh? 7) Not really a briefcase and there are many others like it 5) the most interesting of the lot 4) I don't have to worry about IT getting stolen, but the card IN it? 3) come on! 2) I bet they won't find THAT when they pat you down... "Hey, why is your belly cold!?) 1) Given the cost of the OQO, I can't imagine any of us are going to be able afford this one.
All in all, a pretty stupid list, IMHO. - thegettheregirl, on 06/17/2008, -0/+0Love the article, I can't wait til that crazy credit card/phone/camera thing comes out. Traveling is the reason I wake up in the morning. If you want to see some of my blogs check out www.thegettheregirls.com !
- sedawk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Lame,
Here is why -- I would have bought the Magic Book today -- It is a CONCEPT - not a product.
Please, if it is a concept, then don't mislead and promote it as a product.
No Digg. - sankaroms, on 09/12/2008, -0/+0Hey those are cool......
- DocNo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"and it costed"
