- bbrasky, on 12/10/2008, -0/+27I like the list in general, but I question the inclusion of Firefox. I use it and love it, but I don't think its a "consumer web app". To me, a web app is an app that runs INSIDE the browser. Just seems to me that its another case of MS-hating.
I know I'm probably going to get flamed for being nitpicky - just thought I'd point it out. - doublefelix, on 12/10/2008, -0/+17Ning and Meebo look really interesting and useful. I must be out of the loop hearing about them in a years end best-of list.
- Ommatidia, on 12/10/2008, -1/+14First comment calling you ***** retarded!
- SeaSideClown, on 12/10/2008, -0/+12Firefox=Web app? Huh?
I think they just put it there so they can justify using the firefox logo, and attracting more clicks and diggs. - michaelrsa, on 12/10/2008, -0/+8I really am enjoying Hulu so far, it's got all the shows I watch and I don't have to sift for hours for a gem in a pile of crap like I do on youtube. It's gotten to the point where I no longer surf youtube because I always wind up with some Fred ***** or clips of naruto with heavy metal in the background while searching for something completely unrelated.
You know what? ***** Fred. - markedOne, on 12/10/2008, -1/+8buried for twitter being the first
- shrinagesh, on 12/10/2008, -0/+7Love ning. Web2 has been a blessing and great way to connect & interact with people without geographic boundaries. World's really shrinking.

- inactive, on 12/10/2008, -0/+5"App" is hard to define. I think I will bury for lack of Netvibes, Dropbox, and Gmail...Gmail is QUITE obvious on a list of 10

Talk about a retarded sentence. Pot, kettle, STFU. - ch40sBr1ng3r, on 12/10/2008, -1/+4Dugg for Firefox, Cooliris, and Hulu....God i love hulu.
- secretpiano, on 12/10/2008, -0/+2280slides is the most amazing thing I've ever seen
- deadapostle, on 12/10/2008, -1/+3Cooliris is awesome. I've been using it for almost 2 years now. Google images is greatly improved.
- FDDIcent, on 12/10/2008, -0/+2And Safari hating, don't forget mac users.
- BTime, on 12/10/2008, -0/+2I've used Meebo, but prefer Trillian as you don't have to keep a browser window open for it to function. If Meebo were a taskbar application it would win hands-down.
- CrushThemTorg, on 12/10/2008, -0/+2Meebo is simply one of the more fantastic things to ever be on the web.
- lucian303, on 12/11/2008, -0/+2twitter my twitter ... wait, i have better things to do ... like life
- electricmba, on 12/10/2008, -1/+3"It's a well-known fact that our readers are on the cutting - if not bleeding - edge of technology."
This list is mostly a bunch of social networking sites that high school kids visit, not cutting (or bleeding) edge "consumer web apps". - JakeW, on 12/10/2008, -1/+2I used to use meebo when it first came out. I had a 256MB RAM -- Windows XP machine. That thing was slow.
And I would always have Firefox up, because without it, I'd be bored. AMIRITE?
So what could I do about IM'ing my friends? I used meebo. = )
And it's held a place in my heart for over 3 years now! - pseudononymist, on 12/12/2008, -0/+1first fail
- TheSpook, on 12/10/2008, -0/+1How about renaming the article "Top 10 Consumer Web-related Apps of 2008"?

- docmphd, on 12/10/2008, -0/+1you obviously didn't read the post. Nothing even close to an app for kids.
