TigerDirect and OnRebate Scam
jerryfeil.com — "If you purchase something from TigerDirect and try to get the rebate from OnRebate.com, Good Luck!" It seems that many people are being denied rebates for items purchased at TigerDirect. TigerDirect points the fault at OnRebate.com and washes their hands of it. But guess what? THEY'RE SISTER COMPANIES!

- SoccerBoy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20I have often believed they where connected somehow. www.globalcomputer.com should be on that list too.
I would be very very cautious buying anything (with or without a rebate) from Tiger Direct, Global Computers, or any Systemax product.- All4not, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/alerts/rebatealrt.htm
File a complaint.
I read that parent companies are responsible for 3rd party rebates for non-payment of correctly filled out rebates, but can't remember where. - apersaud, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11We should send the info to Eliott Spitzer... maybe he can file another lawsuit against Tiger and OnRebate about these practices...
- bongo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Not only this nonsense with the rebates, but they're selling your information as well:

They are connected! Well, I don't know about the global computers part. But system max, tiger direct, and so on has the same people pulling the strings. I used to work for one of the owners for a company called Proteva Computers (which was the same as Micro professionals and Cavistar Computers).
It seems that they had a problem with rebates back then also. As well as selling crappy computers. A class action took care of the crappy computer complaints. - ledmatrix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I quit buying from TigerDirect a long time ago anyway. They are pretty expensive compared to newegg.com and pricegrabber.com.
- bob2600, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I've had a problem with Onrebate in the past. If you want your rebate here is what you have to do:
1. Send in your rebate with all your correct info.
2. Wait the max amount of time time for your rebate (6-8weeks)
3. Call Onrebate write down whatever ***** story they give you
4. Go to the Florida Attorney General Website
5. File a complaint
6. You will receive your rebate in about 2 weeks
I think Tiger Direct needs to include these instructions in all their ToS - gadgetdude1245, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have bought from tigerdirect a bunch of times and they are great! On rebate get's it to me with 2 months, I know it's along time but I get it.
- toolbag, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I too got ripped off for my rebate form onrebate/tigerdirect. They say I never submitted my paperwork but I mailed it within a week of receipt. I contacted them and they said it is my fault. Boooo. No more tiger for me.
- All4not, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/alerts/rebatealrt.htm
- burnt1ce85, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6just dont trust their rebate system. i have a tiger direct retail store around my area (the only one in canada) and they offer great service.
- twollamalove, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They offer terrific service if you want their (most likely sub-par) advice on what to buy from them. When you need real service (return, complaint, etc), it's unlikely you'll find it.
- vestige, on 10/12/2007, -12/+5Though it seemed like a very shady process (like all rebates) I had no problem claiming the $70 rebate for my new monitor. It did however take 6 weeks for the check to arive.
- KinGvsKinG, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9most rebate checks take 4-6 weeks to arrive.
- misterpony, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7***** I used TigerDirect in the past and everything went well, I got a great deal. Shady stuff always makes me re-think where I'll be shopping next time...
- tirian, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7The sad part is that TigerDirect doesn't seem to care. They simply figure that will continue to stay at the top and can do whatever they want to their customers.
- TheCount, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10The top of what? I don't know anyone (personally) foolish enough to buy from TigerDirect in the first place.
- JohnboiWaltune, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4I bought a plasma TV from those guys about a year and a half ago. No problems at all, but maybe their business practices have become more shady since then.
- koshak, on 10/12/2007, -15/+4OK, The Count. YOU don't. But millions of people DO shop at TigerDirect. Anecdotal "evidence" of what one person's friends do is meaningless. For every complaint they have hundreds of satisfied customer.
Apple has complaints too. One from custoemrs who did not get their issues resolved to their satisfaction. - koshak, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2REALLY sad that you bury a comment pointing out that the VAST majority of peopel have had NO problems with TigerDirect, and that lots of people have unresolved problems with Apple.
Seriously...take a step back and realize how sad that is losers. "Oh my god! He is giving FACTS, and saying that Apple is perfect! LEt's bury it!" SO sad.
- Blackscorpion, on 10/12/2007, -6/+20I have bought a lot of stuff from tigerdirect and have received every rebate that I mailed in. It does take awhile to get them but that is clearly stated on the rebate forms. Tigerdirect is never my first choice these day since newegg came along but there are still times when Tigerdirect has the best price after a rebate. Rebates are always a risk.
- pondster, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25I agree, Newegg.com all the way. I have been shopping with new egg for several years now and have NEVER had any problems with them - never tried a rebate with them though but rebates are scams anyway - I just got suckered on a Sony Vaio rebate and have sworn off of rebates all togther.
- en3r0, on 10/12/2007, -11/+19Newegg.com defiantly has Tigerdirect beat now a days.

http://virtenu.com - TheCount, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11newegg.com has been around for quite some time now, it's not new.
- Judman, on 10/12/2007, -15/+3*sigh* Here we go again...
- retral, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5Very dirty operation, hopefully they'll be shut down or 'corrected' soon. I personally have never ordered anything from tiger direct, but use zipzoomfly & newegg instead, never have I had a problem with these two (other than the fact that newegg recently switched to ups shipping which tends to be horribly slow :()
- rafgar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Actually, NewEgg just added UPS shipping. You can still get FedEx shipping, if you're willing to pay their higher rates.
- JelloZ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I just ordered a printer from newegg and paid for 3 day shipping. It arrived the next day. UPS may be slow in your area but not in upstate NY.
- DannySpace, on 10/12/2007, -13/+4Are these guys also a sister company to TigerToys? Because those little hand held games suck just as much.
- merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -10/+13Yeah, and they own the Detroit Tigers too!
- etx313, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Are you retarted?
- SashaNein, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Retarted? Is that the act of regurgitating an eaten pop-tart and reheating it?
- blasphemer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2And Tiger Woods is the CEO.
- dlichteman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I bought a 7800GT from TD and then when I sent the rebate in I got an email response saying they would mail me something saying why it was not valid........and I have yet to recive that....
- KinGvsKinG, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8why don't you call them? don't sit around and wait. you need to call and bitch them out till you get your rebate.
- jimphelps, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2At least you got an e-mail. Consider yourself "lucky".
- Tweekster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I am cancelling the credit card authorization" is the most powerful phrase in the world when it comes to that type of crap.
It doesnt matter if you paid the bill already, Visa will just withhold off the next time that company is supposed to get money.
Tell them you will be sending the card back COD and the card authorization will be cancelled.
- PRican360, on 10/12/2007, -9/+10newegg.com > tigerdirect.com
- MemoryDump, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I hate rebates! They are such a scam! Just give me the damn rebate when I pay for my purchase and YOU (the retailer) can have fun getting the rebate refund from whomever. I sometimes WON'T buy an item if I see it as being on sale ONLY if you PAY full price up front and send a mail rebate and wait 1/2 a year for your refund. Such a scam.
- willcode4beer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I agree.
I was at CircuitCity and the dude's trying to push some rebate line on me. I told him that I didn't believe I'd ever get the rebate. He assured me I would.
I told him that in exchange for my receipt, he could give me half the rebate up front, and he could file it and get the whole thing for himself. I mean, if the rebate is legit, that would be free money for him.
He declined.
If the sales people aren't willing to put their money where their mouth is, why should I believe them?
- willcode4beer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I agree.
- garraeth, on 10/12/2007, -14/+0That'll learn me!
- Minos, on 10/12/2007, -20/+6Where's the scandal? Are we morally inclined to not own two companies and to do business with ourselves? Are they selling our information without prior notice?
Scam schmam. They're just more than a "one trick poney".
On a side note, I have received all three of my rebates from OnRebate. And I go at it by stuffing all the pertinent forms ( the originals, I don't care for trying to copy them ) in the same envelope and send it off.- TheCount, on 10/12/2007, -9/+6Okay, you had positive experiences, that DOES NOT mean everyone has or will. Get over yourself.
- merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16"Are they selling our information without prior notice?"
RTFA.
"To top it all off, TigerDirect/OnRebate.com will SELL your NAME and ADDRESS to Anyone who wants it!
Their privacy policy starts out looking like they will never sell your information, but far down in the fine print, they admit they "may sell your name and address to a few carefully selected marketing partners." But it seems that anyone with $100 is considered "carefully selected"." - Minos, on 10/12/2007, -15/+3That wasn't the main goal of my post, as per the "Side note" comment. But thanks for jumping the gun and taking it upon yourself to jump down my throat for something I already knew. Get over yourself ;)
But for the sake of coherency, you really should add that same reply to every other person who says they've had positive experience with tigerdirect. - koshak, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Count...that is just dumb. Blasting someone for sayng that had positive experiences? Peopel who have had nothing to positive experiences with TigerDirect are the MAJORITY you moron! By FAR. If you want to blast the people by saying "Well, that is just you..." then blast the 1-2% that are complaining
- DrRo183, on 10/12/2007, -13/+2Hmm, I tried to ping tigerdirect.com, and it times out.
- D14BL0, on 10/12/2007, -13/+2I noticed that, too. I wonder why.
- loginname, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17You do know that there are a lot of websites that block ICMP packets at their firewall and/or router.
Try pinging hotmail.com and see what happens.
FYI - ICMP http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICMP - md4wg, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6I'm sure they're blocking ping traffic. It's a common thing to do.
- RWVolkl158, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I went through an awful ordeal with Tiger Direct last summer when trying to order a bare bones kit from them. I ended up having to cancel the credit card I ordered from them on, and refusing to accept two packages (same order) because their customer service wouldn't cooperate (extremely rude as well). Not only that, but it took almost a month for them to ship in the first place. As soon as I got things sorted out with them I ordered from Newegg and got my stuff in two days. Sure, it was a little bit more, but I didn't have to play any ***** games (read: rebates, dickhole service) with them. Newegg all the way
- D14BL0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3If you're going to use TigerDirect or OnRebate, or any other Systemax service, read EVERY ToS you find. Chances are that you're going to get screwed over, so at least read the ToS, as there may be ways to avoid it, if you play your cards right.
- jimphelps, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5yeah, read the 'terms of service', hire an attorney, then save $3 buying something at Tiger Direct w/Rebate. LOL.
- arkine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5My latest Tiger Direct rebate was ridiculous. The two sites used different SKUs for the same product. I walked away feeling that I was being intentionally being confused. I've shopped with Tiger Direct for a while but after this latest order I'm done. Too much shady stuff for me. Goodbye Tiger! I'll try Newegg next time.
- jmonw, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6There's a scam? Really? Because just this morning I deposited my rebate check, which I got in 3 days (yeah, it cost like $3 to get it that fast, but you could wait.)
I had absolutely no problems through the process (though I was pretty sure I would). But, yeah, rebates are always risky. Usually I don't like them, but I got a 160GB SATA HDD for $50, so no worries.
Someone should take some sort of legal action if they are actually doing anything wrong.- D14BL0, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Well, it doesn't look like they're doing anything illegal, but they're very shady about what they're doing. It seems like all the fine print is rather hidden, so most customers never realize why they're getting "scammed".
- hater2win, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Agreed, I get all my rebates from then in about the span of a week because of their online rebate system.
- dougmc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Of course, paying around 10% to get your rebate fast is another scam, but I won't get into that :)
- jmonw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Agreed. But you could opt to wait. But I agree. That did sort of ***** me off.
- hater2win, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ITS 3 DOLLARS!
- intoflatlines, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2since i'm not already familiar with tigerdirect and/or onrebate, i don't see how this information implies a scam. maybe i'm just naive, but all i see is that the two are sister companies and are registered/owned by the same people. so what?
- D14BL0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6They're making it very difficult to get your rebates, and not announcing that they're sister companies, which seems like they're trying to hide it (and with all the angry customers, I'm not shocked).
- jonathan4465, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Yeah I had to jump through hoops to claim my rebates, and I was screwed out of one. I like to avoid rebates all togther now.
- fulldecent, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3luckily, since you are now working with 1 company, this problem boils down to something Visa will just refund for you.
- merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4If that's true, it's a great way to put pressure on these guys. If people initiate enough chargebacks, visa will eventually refuse to work with them.
- HardYakka, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Actually, the reason they don't send the rebates for 4-6 weeks is so that your credit card bill will have already arrived and have been paid. Once you pay the bill, the CC Company can no longer do a "charge-back", so you're out of luck if they deny your rebate.
- koshak, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Yeah...HardYakka. THAT's the reason.
(You are wrong about that, by the way.)
- DIGGADEEP, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5www.tigerdirect.ca sucks balls too!
- fromiester, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I had no problem getting my $50 CPU rebate in with in a week or so. (minus the $5.50 for a 3-day shipping fee) I was skeptical to begin with, but was pleasantly surprised when it came.
- greensky, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I must have got lucky with TigerDirect. I used to order from them regularly a few years ago. I never ordered anything through them with a rebate. I try to avoid rebates whenever possible.
With Newegg I've always had good experiences and usually receive everything in working order. I had one order from them where I received a bad hard drive. They took it back without question and I had a replacement drive right away. - TwwIX, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I never liked this company in the first place. That's why i always stick to newegg.com and outpost.com when it comes to purchasing hardware.
- c.hack, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I bought dozens of tech toys over the holidays last year. 4 of them had OnRebates. The OnRebates were the first ones I got and were communicated the best. Unfortunately, they also required the most time and paperwork to complete - making it easy to get disqualified.
- beanfeast, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Infotel USA is the commercial sister to Tigerdirect. I've gotten rebates from OnRebate twice before. Both times it took 6 weeks, but, that's what they said it would take so no trouble. I'm a reseller and Infotel has been a pretty decent vendor...likewise I've had no problems w/ TigerDirect.
If I didn't receive a rebate and they tried to brush me off like that however, it'd be a different story. - halc5s, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I bought a 19" LCD from them two months ago and got my rebate last week. I have ordered many things from them and always got the rebate. Still this sucks, and is the reason why I am wary of rebates in general.
I'd rather get a lesser discount right away, than have to wait 6-8 weeks for a rebate check to arrive. - seinman, on 10/12/2007, -11/+5To all the people complaining about being "scammed" out of Tiger Direct rebates: did you ever think that maybe you're just too dumb to fill them out or submit them correctly? I've bought many, many items from TD (they have a retail store a few minutes from my house) and every single rebate i've done, we're talking at least 15 of them over the last two years, has been accepted and promptly paid. Lately they've had an option to direct deposit to a bank account, in fact, so you don't even have to wait for a check to come and then go to the bank and deposit it yourself. Next time, read the directions carefully, double check to make sure the forms are right and you've included everything you need to include, and maybe you won't have problems.
- AtWorkSurfer, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4My experience mirrors yours closely. I really don't see where the scam is. Rebates are supposed to be difficult - companies that offer them are counting on most people being too lazy to submit them, too careless to do so correctly, or too disorganized to keep copies of submitted information (as most rebate forms specifically instruct). If they really wanted you to get your 50 bucks, they'd probably just give it to you up front, don't you think?
If you understand this, and are willing to play by their rules, you will get most, if not all of the rebates that you deserve. Once you have thusly attained Rebate Nirvana, all of this ranting will seem pretty pointless. - DIGGADEEP, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3the scam is when they shuffle you off claiming you didnt fill out the forms properly when you know u did, they dont tell u the problems other then "incorrect filing" .. then they hide the fact that they are sister companies.. thats the big scam
- mtheadedfool, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5My experiences with TD have always been good. Got what I ordered, got it fast, and rebates were filled (6 weeks or so). I would not call the company shady, nor would I use the label "scam" for their operations. They are no priceritephoto. That said... when I filled out the rebate material I thought, "Geez, they seem to be setting this up to maximize the potential of declining the rebate based on an improper submission." And I just assumed that their connection to onrebate.com was extremely tight.
I'm generally a laissez faire kind of guy, but I'd like to see more regulation and oversight over rebates.... public reporting of historical rebate returns for a product/company would help. And then bring on the fines when returns are too few, too slow. TD, I think you are about to suffer for your rebate sins. Get 'em, Digg.
Oh yeah, and I agree with folks on NewEgg. They rock. Nice to have a company you can trust! - willcode4beer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Let me offer you a business deal.
Next time I want to buy something with a rebate, I'll sell you my receipt and proof of purchase for half the amount of the rebate (I'll take paypal).
You can mail in the forms and colelct the whole thing.
Whadda ya say, its a win-win situation.
I don't have to deal with my mistrust of rebates, you can collect free money - andreo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2There's not much to filling out rebate forms. Most that I've seen simply ask for your personal information such as name, mailing address, phone number. Then they will ask for what you bought and when you bought it. then ask you to include proof of the purchase.
So I'm thinking that the people here are not to stupid to fill out rebates. The problem is (as many others long before this topic came up have acknowledged) some companies simply don't honor rebates. Or they look for the smallest reasons to refuse a rebate.
I have done many rebates in my lifetime, and I've only had problems with 2, that I can remember. However both of those were filled out correctly. One with a 65" HDTV purchased from Sears. After receiving the rebate denial letter saying that the rebate (a rebate for the delivery charges to make it so bad) was denied because it only applied to large screen televisions. When I called the rebate center to let them know that Sears didn't sell a larger television then 65" they agreed to send the check.
The Second time was with Directv. To make a long story short they simply said they never received a rebate form from me. The only problem was that there were hundreds of others that they told the same thing to after I checked the Tivocommunity forums.
There are also stories from people that processed rebate information confessing that they would simply deny rebates for any reason at all. And states that have sued rebate processing companies for keeping unclaimed / un-cashed rebates instead of turning them over to the treasury department for the states that the unclaimed property exist.
So I think that the number of people that cannot fill out their name and address on a piece of paper really doesn't outweigh the greed of some of the rebate fulfillment companies out there.
- modpancake, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I've always gotten my rebates back from OnRebate.
However, I'm still digging this because I found out they're the ones who sold my info out. They've just lost a good customer. - mtnxfreeride, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2They do warn you over and over agian to use US certified postal. Then they cant say they didnt get it. ALso, I take a picture of the form before i send it in case they try to say i did it wrong.
- gcauthon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6So you take photographs of the form and request a signature receipt for evidence? I suppose you do that in case you ever need to take them to court? And I suppose you make copies of everything, including UPC bar codes too? How much is your time worth? Not much, apparently.
- UNL1M1T3D, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Once you know, you Newegg. I have bought every single part for my computer, other then my case, from Newegg. I have never had a problem with them, and will continue to do business with them for a long time. I had to RMA something one time, but thats because I accidently ordered it twice, and when I called them they were very friendly and instructed me exactly how to return it. I work at Kmart and we get a lot of people coming in here and looking for computer parts and I always send them to Newegg.
- jibber11, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7they got me!!! I think Staples has the best rebate system out there right know!
- chabuhi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Why should we have to read a ToS every time we go to buy something online? I don't have to read a ToS when I go shopping at my local store. There's no ToS that appears when I sign a credit card purchase at the PoS. I think that, at this point in time, we all have a pretty good idea about what a shopping transaction SHOULD be. Throwing in terms just stinks of shadiness, imo.
- kyleknicks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i stopped buying from tigerdirect quite a few yrs back when a majority of their sales were from their catalog.. remember getting those in the mail?? they wanted $25 for shipping on a motherboard taht cost $75 on the phone.. seemed very shady back then.. so i stopped dealing with them..
- diggmeup, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I've gotten scamed by diger direct. I sent in for 3 $50 rebates and all of them were denied. Called and complained and threatened legal action. They said they were indeed valid rebates and will send out the money. I only recieved 2 back.
- heathuff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4ROFL-why would u shop at Tiger Direct when theres newegg! If newegg doesnt have it (small adapters and the such, then I go to cyberguys. Tiger Direct is garbage
- SweetsGreen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6screw mail-in-rebates!
I will never factor in the rebate into the final price when making a decision to buy somthing.
I never expect to get my rebates....when I do get them its a nice surprise...
Follow that logic and you'll live a happier life. - jav1231, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Rebates are for suckers. It is by it's nature a scam because they really don't want you getting them. They're counting on you NOT getting them.
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Everyone that bought a soyo barebone about two years ago never recieved the $50 rebate that was due. I swore that I would never purchase anything for TD again. Even if newegg is a little bit more expensive, atleast I trust them to ship me what I ordered. It sucks for TD though, because they lost one customer who buys thousands of dollars worth of computer supplies every year.
- 0n7R, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0I used onrebate.com before and got my rebate on time with detailed tracking of the status.
NO PROBLEM SO FAR
no digg.
BTW newegg rocks! - Luberlou, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I have purchased items from Tiger on several occasions. Always w/a rebate. I have ALWAYS gotten my money. I did have to wait a few weeks more than once but never had to bug them. I agree w/ some of the preceding comments, you do have to have your stuff together. That said I wish they would just lower the price & to hell with rebates.
- dasunst3r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This appears to be the third time in one week that something bad about TigerDirect has been posted. I got three words for them: Adapt or die.
- dognose, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I firmly believe that the company promoting the rebate (tigerdirect) should take responsibility with bad rebate policies.
I once had a rebate denied from a NewEgg order. (the rebate had to be sent in like the day I got the package) I called the rebate company, but they claimed it was completely reasonable, and denied it again. I then called newegg, and newegg refunded the rebate amount.
You have to push it back on the retailer offering the rebate so that they don't offer rebates from that company again. Retailers can easily track how many complaints they get from various rebaters, and have to take the punshiment from consistantly pushing bad rebates on customers - aesir_loki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That's why i use newegg, tigerdirect is sketchy.
- MasterDwarf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Power to the people. Running a legit business with integrity needs to be enforced and there is nothing better than making stuff like this public. If there is an error regarding this, then I hope that it too can be brought to everyone's attention.
- fperkins, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Never never buy anything from tiger direct. I once "tried" to purchase something that was in "stock" and, of course, it wasn't. It took about a month to get and they still wanted to charge me for next day delivery.
- kayakertim, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2They will never get a penny of my money. I just unsubscribed from their email list. Their are too many other companies I would rather deal with.
- jmandawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4They have a rebate guarantee on their website, http://www.tigerdirect.com/sectors/Rebates/index.asp
But it's pretty much useless since you have to get postal tracking on you rebates. Who in their right mind is going to pay for tracking on every rebate sent?
TigetDirect burned me too.... :( - Hubris, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4How come so many are simply commenting that they received a rebate from Onrebate, suggesting the article is less valid? It states that many have problems....that Tigerdirect will refuse any knowledge of the process, although it's possible a sister company might be responsible for intentionally making the process as difficult as possible.
Worse still....it seems that if you have claimed a rebate through Onrebate, your personal information is contained on marketing and spam lists. I guess that's how they supplement income, by selling the information you have to provide in order to get your rebate. -
