    and no stupid limitations like on Microsoft Sky Drive where they give you 25GB but limit you to up to 50MB in size per file. and I want it to be deeply integrated into other google services. oh, and let me access previous version of files like in Google Docs where the system autosaves your document every couple of seconds so you're covered from the moment you start working on it.

    I'm telling you, M$ needs to watch out, they will boot google OS one day off it...

    I just imagine uploading a few gigabytes of data to store..........Zzzzz........Zzzzz........Zzzzz.........Zzzzz.....
    That can take a while.

  • MScrip, on 01/20/2009, -0/+41It's not the amount of storage... it's how fast you can access it. Download speeds might be OK, but upload speeds are a bitch. How fast is SATA again?

    Online "backup" might be fine... but the headline "throw your hard drive away" is a bit silly. I'm not gonna wait 3 minutes to save a file online when it can write it to a local drive in a fraction of a second. Some hard drive can read and write at 100 megaBYTES a second... how fast is your cable upload speed?

    Google knows your search phrases, the sites you visit through them; it has access to your browsing habits thanks to its ad words and google analytics programs, knows your favorite videos, knows your contacts and schedule, knows what you talk about in your e-mails on gmail and gtalk and now will know your porn fetishes thanks to google drive.
