Sorry for double post, stupid digg. - akpak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3google changed my life
two years ago i didn''t really have a goal in life. i was just wandering around aimlessly, drinking and smoking all the time. i felt very unhappy and depressed all the time. Then one day while in the midst of surfing porn, i decided to delete "jenna jameson" and type in "happiness". the google results led me to a site that instructed me to work hard. From that moment on never have I felt despair or sadness. i have a steady job and a great family. google really changed my life.
thank you larry page and sergey brin
oh and btw no digg. - freonchill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1really wish they would run the videos on google rather than their own streaming garbage

Digg++ - AUGTRON, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the chain of comments worked well then i guess.
- CoreBurn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, if I had watched this one first, I would have thought the other one was some kind of joke.

Don't know how smart google is but money is not infinite. - ewingsquadron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I disagree with the comments. The ABC one was more entertaining to watch.
- shiftless, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That Taxi idea would be amazing in cities where Wi-Fi is readily available. It's hard to find a taxi sometimes!
- hope, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The ABC one was more entertaining. It's so funny the way Brit's say 'Privacy'. It's like privicy.
- wonderboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0buttney spears... lol

When all is said and done it just goes to show that even two wierdo's from San Francisco can make it in this world... - dvdjon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0One google hater said in that video : "For a lot of students research means google"
Dam right bitch, welcome to the 21st century  - jonathanex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ah yes, I saw this when it was on TV. Good to know the Beeb are sticking programs up!
- takeyourmedicin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0thats so not true - if your TV isn't tuned in you don't have to pay a license
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0True Google depends mostly on Adsense/Adwords.
But so does Honda depend on cars/motorbikes.
Newspapers depend on classifieds and adverts.
MS depends on OS and Office.
Every company has a major source of income even though it might diversify. 70/20 rule.
I cannot understand the fuss of the "vulnerability" of Google because it has 1 major source of income. - mrblack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I am actually amazed that people outside the UK can see this. As with a comedy show they played over at the bbc 3 site, it was UK only 9based on IP). i missed this when it was on but torrented it last night. Not bad.
- deut, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0lol did you see that old guy typing - very funny.
@mrblack, yeah, I thought bbc streaming was only limited to uk based IPs. It's really cool if they have decided to open up the content world-wide. - aerialonyx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I saw this on Saturday, and it was pretty interesting. 941Kb/s version available from your favourite regiional niche bittorrent tracker. (You know which one right?)
- webcrumb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"really wish they would run the videos on google rather than their own streaming garbage"rnrnThe BBC have been using RM streaming for a good few years, certainly before Google even had the idea of video.google.com. All of the broadcast systems are tied up to the system so everything is digitally archived, then converted to the best streaming technology _at the time_ and made available on the web. If you can get to it (it may by UK only) check the "listen again" features for every radio station - this was available quite some time before podcasts became mainstream. Their live event coverage is also very nice.rnrnAnyhow, back to my main point, that the BBC know that RM is crap, and have invested quite a bit of money in creating Dirac, a free, open-source encoding solution for audio and video (I'm not sure of the reasons why they didn't use Ogg Vorbis etc.).rnrnOne last thing to say is that teh BBC is teh roxx0rz!!!11
- aristofeles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0256x144 streamed at 4KBps. Can it get any worst?
OTOH, I love the BBC torrents... - B0jangles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very Entertaining. Anyone notice the 'The BBC Rocks' in the Google Desktop scene? Its so true ^_^
- woz_fraggle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0To supporters of the BBC - I live in the UK and the BBC is a fantastic national resource, but remember that the BBC only exists because IT IS LAW for ANYONE who owns a mains-powered device capable of receiving a televison signal to own a televison license which currently costs £112 a year (currently $197). This is to recieve analogue or digital/satellite signals and you do not get a choice of channels. You could never switch the televison on, and you are still required to pay. As far as I'm aware, all of the revenue from the TV license goes to the BBC (it certainly isn't split off to anyone else). So they should be good!
- hiro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"The ABC one was more entertaining. It's so funny the way Brit's say 'Privacy'. It's like privicy."
We pronounce it as its spelt rather than Pry-vassy. Don't get started on pronunciation, people who live in glass houses etc.......... - krbrowning, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Much better then the ABC video.
- DiggDiggler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I don't know what it was, but Bob Woodruff is a total tool.rnBob "I'm a smug tool" Woodruff, "oh gee they have scooters to get around here... I'm such an adult that I don't know how to ride one of those".rnWhatever BOB. Too bad that software engineer was too nice to throw you out of his office as he should have done the moment you questioned his work ethic.rnBob on his best day couldn't get a job at Google. ESAD Bob.
