She wants you take your medicine. - fffoolio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20"Sounds like that guy we all know... the one who builds and manages to sell a PC, and now thinks he "t3h business master"
Except this guy sells the PC, doesn't build it, doesn't ship it, refuses to return the money, and then goes on an insane, immature, tirade on the internet.
Much more fun than the guy that builds and really sells a PC. - lpmiller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18good job Gideontech!

- brendanc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Well personally I didn't know about it until this digg post, so.. keep em' coming. I think I'm just as important as anyone else on digg in terms of being "allowed" to see good stories.
- deadbaby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13I hate to admit but I've been trolling their online help chat randomly for the past week. I don't know why but I just keep getting this mental image of Brad checking the site and screaming like a lunatic every time he gets one of my clever messages. I guess I should stop because it's starting to make me feel a little bad for the guy. Just a couple more for old times sake...
- lolx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13someone please notify paypal that ZioSys is creating alternate paypal accounts to bypass their Business Paypal account that was suspended do to fraud... Here is the transcript:

Zio Representative:
Not that I know of.
William:
you know the one that he transfers all of the money to, to hide the trail of money. Like in the case of the customer on gideontech.com ? - drunkentoad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13@futureisours - "Don't diss this guy man.. he'll hack into your computer and sue you for slandering!!"
Not just him, but ALL of India !! - d0odx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12If you are going to do some scamming at least TRY to appear professional. This guy just comes off as a loser from the start.
- luservegas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Oh man, there's more, it's like you think that there is no way it can get crazier, and then it does - an Apache helicopter from Fort Knox comes to rescue him... You just can't make this ***** up, it's got to be real:
One night just outside of FT.Knox base in Kentucky, I was working for the government on a simple stand around and look pretty and make money job. It was for a company that managed military housing for the government. Their name isn’t stated here because it’s meaningless, I was exiting the base, I had no clue where I was, it was dark and there were no road signs being the work a-holic that I am I had not slept in about 43 hours. I was coming down a hill slowly, and didn’t notice a 90- degree turn out of no-where. There was no road sign, and gravel covered the road. I knew I was going to crash, I had lost control of the car, so I did what I had to do to keep from going off a cliff. I grabbed the emergency brake and careened into the front of some trees taking both of my tires and front of the car into a dead stop. I hit my head hard on the left side of the car, no airbags. I passed out.
The next thing I remember, was crawling out of the car with my cell phone in my hand and crawling back down to the curb, my head hurt so bad, and I had no idea of how much time had passed. The 911 operator called the base, and since I was so far from the base they had an apache helicopter come and find me. It took the military over 25 minutes to actually get to me. I was rushed to the infirmary and I was in the hospital for quite some time. As soon as I could I rushed home to continue working on my business. This being how dedicated I am. - euphemizeme, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11I'd say "business" is a pretty generous assessment. More like "website run by a douche bag."
The story was amusing only because the guy sounded like a raving lunatic in his forum posts. The actual goings on at Zio were never really interesting at all. - bndocksnt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Come forth, my Indian Army, and unleash thy 500 server DOS attack!
- chowface3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I hate scammers.
- tgunner, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Sounds like that guy we all know... the one who builds and manages to sell a PC, and now thinks he "t3h business master"
- bndocksnt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9From the looks of his "marketing efforts" and general inability to see a thought through to it's conclusion, he reminds me of the guy that built a computer once, and then started snorting coke.
- Rodeoclash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I just tried out his live support:
I posted:
Why have you failed me as a son Brad? I'm close to death (yet still working) and this is what you do to me? Our family name is being slandered all over the Internet by you. I have no son...
and got back
Zio Representative:
roughly 800 remote end users, basic functionality. all work will be completed via citrix.
Zio Representative:
Dad, come down here and help me take the position to become a millionaire.
Zio Representative:
Stop wallowing in self pitty. - Kikkomann, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8GideonTech (and teh Digg People) has just dominated Brad Burn's face!
- Rich7ejr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Add at least 5 diggs to every comment made, because Brad and his multiple screen names are modding everyone down.
- jlindenbaum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Go GideonTech - let's bring this sucker to his knees.
- jellomizer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9And his Dad own the Internet and can get you banned for life.
- kev26, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I chatted to ZioSystems. So much fun:
Zio Representative:
How can I help you?
Bill:
is your site safe to buy from? I've heard of problems of not getting products after you pay.
Bill:
and not getting refunds
Zio Representative:
Those are now legal matter against issues of business slander
Zio Representative:
They are not for me to discuss because it is a legal case now
Zio Representative:
I can assure you that it is safe to buy from our site
Bill:
so are you saying its safe to buy or not?
Zio Representative:
Yes it is safe
Bill:
so why won't you give that customer his product or money back?
Zio Representative has left the conversation. Currently in room: Bill. - luservegas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Oh my gosh, this guy is a total wackjob, you have got to check out his ziosystems web site - here's an excerpt from "The Official Mar. 26th Statement", whatever the hell that is:
Begin quote:
My work efforts didn’t taper off, I worked countless hours, and dated countless woman. I’ll never forget the long highway hours, and the countless hours of research listening to the music that read life to me. I organized Virtual Employees, since I didn’t have a store front, I still needed help. To this date there is about 70 people involved with this company. Most of them I paid on contract terms. I started flying around the country, to California, to Atlanta. People came to me, I told them of my ideas, and some of them started working with absolutely no pay.
End Quote
Holy *****, what does how many women he dated have to do with anything? It is absolutely worth it to read through all of his crap because the more you read, the more ***** up it all it gets. Priceless.

- evolution360, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The guy who owns Zio is a complete liar. He claims here ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=106208&page=2 ) that he graduated college at 15 while his own website ( http://ziosys.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=207&Itemid=1 ) says he was a technician for compUSA (and other such companies, how many can you work for in 1 year? get fired much?) from the ages of 16-17 then graduated high school early and is planning on going to "University Of Arizona Technology for Video Game Design and Software Engineering"

This guy is obviously mentally ill; lets hope the original poster gets his money back, and then lets hope that "Brad" gets some kind of help. - wiseguy328, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5gooooo Gideontech! kill scammers

It's the RIAA approach - sue everyone. - BaphometsAngel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Lets push this up and digg it. F*ck these Zio tards. Whats funny is they even thought they could "compete" with Dell. Oh please. You cant even get one laptop out. lol.
- jadenton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I've spent more time than I would like over the years in the company of the mental ill. And the author of this piece is mentally ill. Deeply, seriously, ill. Undoubtly those around him have told him this. It would be very rare for someone this ill to have not previously been diagnoised or mis-digagnosed, but it is very hard to keep adults on their medication and in therapy; mental illness very quickly robs its victims of the ability to understand how abnormal and self-destructive their behavior is but they can easily understand that when mediacated they do not feel like themselves.
Best thing to do here, track him down, take him to criminal court, get back any money owed, and make sure the judge orders him into treatment. Odds are that when the sentence is up he's back on the street and off his meds, but in the meantime he's not a danger to himself or anyone else. And maybe, just maybe, this time he sticks with it. - dankoleary, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That live chat thing is the greatest thing EVER.
- Zephyrspecial, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Like you said R2PRO, major news networks have repeats all the time, and they are repeating far less useful info than digg. I somehow missed the previous post about this. We get new users, people go on vacation, etc, so it makes sense that stuff gets repeated now and then if it's still relevant somehow. It's usually pretty easy to recognize when something is a repeat if I've read it before... and when that happens I just move on to the next item.
- golgotha, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3After reading the aforementioned thread and reading his posts on the Zio website, I can firmly conclude that this individual is suffering from some form of mental disorder, probably some combination of narcissism and schizophrenia.
Perhaps he has been able to hide it well in his younger years but it is now beginning to overwhelm him. I certainly hope that some relative or someone who cares about this Brad will step in and help Brad sort out his life.
I understand that he has committed fraud, and I am not defending him. However, I do find it a bit sad that this poor helpless individual has been brought into the spotlight and publicly humiliated and torn to shreds before all.
To anyone who cares about Brad: please consider stepping into his life and helping him find the help he needs before he considers suicide an option. - Zephyrspecial, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2from bndocksnt: "he reminds me of the guy that built a computer once, and then started snorting coke."
Don't exclude that as a possibility. Maybe the guy is mentally ill, but on the other hand, maybe he's on drugs. The symptoms can be similar. In either case, attacking the person like everyone has been is not usually an effective way to get the point across to a person in such a condition - it causes the person to panic and become even more out of touch with reality. It makes the situation seem impossible, when in this case it is really very simple: he needs to either send the goods or refund the money. Unless he doesn't have either one, he could end this torment easily, but he's on the defensive now because he feels, quite correctly (however justified it may be), that he is being attacked, and he will panic and be unable to deal with the situation rationally. I hope the guy can wise up and correct the situation. I don't get the impression that he is scamming intentionally - or if he is he's really quite bad at it. It looks to me like he's trying to build a legitimate business, and is really doing quite badly at that as well, but I'm more inclined to be forgiving and patient in cases of incompetence than in cases of malice. In other words, I'd rather someone be bad at doing business than good at scamming. Lessons like this will teach him to do better.
Just to be clear, incompetence doesn't get him out of resolving the situation - the bottom line is that he still needs to deliver the goods or refund the money. - pete6677, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Maybe he meant to say he's going to the University of Phoenix.
- vwvwvw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I personally don't feel comfortable making large purchases over the internet. I'd rather spend a few extra bucks at a local Mom & Pop computer shop. The personal relationship is worth it. I know that someone's going to take care of me if something goes wrong. Same with bike shops.
- jadenton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If he used PayPal to bay for the banner ad, PayPal probably has the info needed to track the guy down. Of course, they will probably want a suponea first, or at the very least something from law enforcement saying that disclosing this information is part of an ongoing criminal investigation. Fortunately, the DOS threat is extortion, so a quick call to the FBI or other agency involved with cyber enforcement may be enough to get the ball rolling.
- SickBoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"After reading the aforementioned thread and reading his posts on the Zio website, I can firmly conclude that this individual is suffering from some form of mental disorder, probably some combination of narcissism and schizophrenia. "
It's a difficult diagnosis to make just from online chatter but it's a very safe assumption. I notice the word 'hate' used a lot. I suspect that applies to more than just computer companies. - monkeybacon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3"my marketing efforts will dominate your face"
Best catch phrase of 07. He could probably make 10x the money by putting this on a shirt and selling those, hey maybe that is part of his face dominating marketing efforts after all. - lolx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@bndocksnt
"From the looks of his "marketing efforts" and general inability to see a thought through to it's conclusion, he reminds me of the guy that built a computer once, and then started snorting coke."
I damn near choked on my italian bmt when i read this. - SteelChicken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Choose Insanity...because it makes life more fun.
- geekitechture, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sorry to hijack the thread. I haven't read through all the comments and don't know if someone mentioned it yet, but Brad has responded to the articles on Digg.com with a page titled, "Digg.com:"
http://ziosys.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=203&Itemid=1
In which he posts many gems about his "personality," including that he gets lots of criticism because while he is young, his "body seems old."
It rambles on for the length of a huge monitor and a half, and makes no sense at all, except for one brief sentence in which he admits he has problems. He never once addresses stealing money from the customer on Gideon's forum, nor what he has done or will ever do about it. He refuses to deal with the issues, raging on about money, his personality, open source, and every other topic except the topic at hand.
Here's one little gem that combined with another Brad-ism may live on forever in our bad memories:
"Marketing is short for manipulation. The art of controlling those with the tools presented to you.'
Just remember, folks:
MY MARKETING EFFORTS WILL DOMINATE YOUR FACE.
I think us Diggers are dominating HIS face now. -
