- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16CORRECTION: The most amazing storm pictures you will never see.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Extremeinstability.com dugg to death. How not ironic.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14The quality of the pics are great. Even surpasses porn pics. :)
- shiftt, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11itd be nicer if the pictures were larger
- JamesWilson, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12beautiful
- compu73rg33k, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9That's the most amazing dugg mirror I will ever see.
Edit: Nevermind - can't enter the galleries. Definitely NOT the most amazing dugg mirror I will ever see. - RGallius, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7It's a shame that there aren't any higher resolution version of those pictures. They're absolutely stunning.
- deaderthanyou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Heh, I thought we were about to get a bunch of pictures of Halle Berry. I am disappointed.
- ByteGuerilla, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Indeed. I've been watching some of those HD WMVs today and these would blow me away much more if they were 1280 across.
Not to say they aren't stunning already. - Robyr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Did you even read the snopes article?! It specifically links to the REAL author... The one linked...
- MightyGiant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Nothing beats being there in person.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5ah... no its not.
- DrEbola, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I dugg this when I submitted it exactly 30 days ago. Key: I didn't put amazing in the title.
I guess it's a good mynickel ignored it when digg recognized the exact same URL as a duplicate, otherwise all you folks wouldn't have gotten a chance to see how cool the pictures were! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4http://www.extremeinstability.com.nyud.net:8090/imagesbyyear.htm
- kirkio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yeah, I was hoping for some hi-res versions so I could have new wallpaper. Also, the photo gallery could use an overhal (you have to go through at least 2 clicks to get to the real stuff). Nonetheless, they are excellent photos.
- grat2001, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Here's a shot my friend took:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/trexler/128559378/ - roguescout, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I would title that one: "RUN! And Don't Look Back!"
Nice photo. I love pictures of Mother Nature saying, "O RLY?" in her own special way. - gwjc, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8I've seen them with a bunch of attributions in friendspam.. at least this has something right
http://www.snopes.com/photos/natural/storm.asp - hope, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I live in Nebraska and it is beautiful!
- Shinnokxz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Anyone find the URL of this site 'extremely' fitting? :P
- thebigkahuna, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4as an avid landscape photographer, this truly set the bar....just wow
- skytimelapse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's a few minutes of awesomeness in between hours and hours of extreme boredom the likes make some go mad.
- Imagine3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I've seen better storm chasing pics, but thats probably because I actually see it in real life. Nothin beats that thrill of seeing a beautiful supercell stacking up to 40,000 ft and dropping a funnel.
- nights0223, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I'm from Nebraska too, and love it. I'll admit there's not a ton to do here though (I live in Lincoln), but it's still a great place to live.
- Ollin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Wow they are amazing I really really wished there was higher res of this, if there was so much wallpaper potential.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This is precisely why I digg (and have been for only a month or so)...every once and a while, something really amazing, but simple, comes along that you'll never see anyplace else but here.
- zarand, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5All i can say is wow...
- electronicmaji, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1would be cooler if they were high res these would make killer backgrounds..
- antdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1 ByteGuerilla: Got URL(s) for those HD WMVs?
- loki1983, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1omg the storms!!!!!!
http://www.extremeinstability.com/04-12-24.htm
those are great pictuers in the original post - Jjcd7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Some people said they got some new wallpaper from here. How?
- briangig, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2being a storm chaser would be so cool...drive around the heartland of america looking for the worst weather possible. If I knew anything about weather I would so do it.
- aximbigfan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1im able to get to it easly.
it takes a bit to load but it does. - republicoftexas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It looks like that is the storm of death. I would have pissed my pants had I saw that
- republicoftexas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2How do you access the coral cache? Sorry for being an idiot.
- Isopor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Now there ya got some "end-of-the-world type of weather".
- ericeman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"The Rhino!!!"
Okay, so I'm probably the only one who'll get James and the Giant Peach jokes...
Nice pictures though! - webcrumb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Because it hates you. Just you.
:P - bjowoods, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I think it died 2 seconds after it hit the front page.
- aximbigfan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2mmm.. those are great! thanks for the new wallpaper.
BTW: the site is back up. slow... but back up. - dp109, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow..........
- DopeWeasel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I was born in Lincoln, now I live in Houston TX.
I miss seasonal weather! There are only 2 seasons here... hot and Kenya.
Ben McCune - tw0bit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2any high res for wallpapers?
- selgan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I remember seeing those Auroras that night in NE.
- Mac2492, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Should I be ashamed that I took more interest in his cats and dogs? I love the site, but those things are CUTE!
- jmasters, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My ancestors came from Nebraska and I've visited a few times to do research, but I remember the wonderful feeling to be out on a farm at 5 AM, and the giddiness that came with seeing "flying LED's". I captured one, and the hosts thought I was nuts for having caught a lightning bug.
The straight, straight roads that disappeared into the distance, the ability to see storms coming from FAR away, the frequent flashes of lightning and beautiful cloud structures... and the smell of rain mixed with farm soil... There were sunlit buttes that I saw/hiked as well. I loved it all...
I'd agree there's not that much to do, and it was interesting that in my interviews with folks about my ancestors that they had on police scanners in the background. It was uncanny (and not enjoyable) to have everyone in town know I was there, who I ate with, when I ate, and almost WHAT I ate... at a place 3 miles away from town. (I swear... I DID not squeeze the charmin! It was not EVEN charmin! and maybe I took a few extra squares... :-) ) - redpillpopper, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Thanks for the wallpaper.
- gringomasta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0most def dead now
