- cosmiccarl, on 11/02/2009, -2/+30Back in 1999 I heard the following predictions.
1) Internet is dying
2) Internet is a fad like CB radio
3) Internet is a waste of time
4) Internet is becoming too comercial
Well, I remember back in 1992 it was
1) What? You mean compuserv?
2) Only nerds hang out on BBS and net.
3) Internet cafe is a fad.
4) It takes forever for a page to load. - NoNameWorks, on 11/02/2009, -0/+27Larry and Sergey got it right, make money while you're young and then when you are insanely rich don't spend all your time trying to get richer.
- SemiSarcastic, on 11/02/2009, -0/+23In twenty years it'll be the next Microsoft and all our kids will be bitching about it like we do with Bill Gates now.
- DavidinBoston, on 11/02/2009, -0/+22The internet is going to be overrun with Chinese language content?
How the hell am I supposed to learn Chinese in 5 years? - TriplePlay2425, on 11/02/2009, -0/+20Skynet.
- deadguysleeps, on 11/02/2009, -0/+12"still unprofitable YouTube"
Google debunks five YouTube myths:

- MrJagil, on 11/03/2009, -0/+10Well, the 4's are still true...
- murrdpirate, on 11/03/2009, -0/+7Yeah, those are clouds.
- NJRFilms, on 11/02/2009, -0/+5It will all be translated in real time. I guess the point is that the majority of content, internet wide, will be from China. Not that all our friends on Facebook 6.0 will be speaking Mandarin
- FarrahForever, on 11/03/2009, -0/+4Google will rule the world
- GWAN, on 11/03/2009, -0/+3If anyone fancies a Google Wave invite, I have a few spare. Just send me a message or reply here.
- Vyseaurion, on 11/03/2009, -0/+3If you're serious, you'd probably be my favorite person on the internet.
- i4mt3hwin, on 11/03/2009, -0/+3Damn he seems like a pretty awesome CEO - all about the customers less about the numbers. I mean I'm sure he and his investors care about the numbers but yeah. Thanks for the link.
- Myztry, on 11/03/2009, -0/+3Companies always tend to evolve to a point of "not so nice". If it's not Google going evil then it'll be somebody else.
BUT a change is as good as a holiday... - solarwind24, on 11/03/2009, -0/+3That would simply be unacceptable. Don't learn it - fight it. English is the language of the Internet.
- HotLeper, on 11/03/2009, -0/+2I googled "The future of Google" and got a 404 error page.
- GWAN, on 11/03/2009, -0/+2Invite sent
- yocouchdigga, on 11/03/2009, -1/+3Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google, interview about the future (linked in article): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHxub_yQfig
- sh0em0nkey, on 11/03/2009, -0/+2Yawn. People believing in NWO and 2012 style prophecies are like bible thumper's.
- Rizzen, on 11/03/2009, -0/+2Hey if you got em I'd be obliged. Send to razzen@gmail.com
- SharMarali, on 11/03/2009, -0/+2"He notes that many of Google’s most able people have no left the company."
"Most worryingly,"
"While their attention wander from Google?" (might actually be correct in the UK, not sure on this one)
"And it’s future – like it’s past – will be determined by the quality of its people."
/grammar - Masquatto, on 11/03/2009, -0/+2If there's any remaining, send one to masquatto at gmail please. :) Thanks.

- yocouchdigga, on 11/03/2009, -0/+2I'm still watching it but yeah, he really knows his stuff. You can tell he's very serious about his role. I have a new found respect for him...
- jobobshishkabob, on 11/03/2009, -0/+2If you have any left, I'd appreciate one. nnagavelli@gmail.com
Thanks in advance.
And I have a few Google Voice invites if anyone needs them. - digitalArtform, on 11/03/2009, -0/+2Once it gets some history behind it, Google Street View will show you the view not only of the place you want to see, but the year, and maybe even the month you want to see.
- GWAN, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1You got the last one! Hope it arrives soon!
- GWAN, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1No more invites left sorry! Hope to the ones that got invites, that they arrive soon!
- GWAN, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1My mate has a one left I think, I'll get him to send you one.
- GWAN, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1Sent! I would take you up on that Google Voice invite, but being in the UK, Voice is US only :(
- grimax, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1Instant karma GWAN, thanks.
- lotor666, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1In 5 Years the Internet will be plagued with MORE BAD SPELLING AND GRAMMAR than is found in this article! Does ANYBODY proof read public documents anymore?? Or is it all written by 12 year old's using a mobile phone keypad.
- barcardi, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1So basically because the owners now have money hats and deservedly so, the company could fail? In a way i want to say good for them, they earned the right to move on. I think that the google guys are the first of a generation to have that mantra.... not the game: make as much money as you can before you die.
- macmcraeart, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1that sounds useful.
- Lucid00, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1Yea, the thing with Google is a lot of their code and APIs are up on the internet for free.
If you have a problem with one of their products you could just make a better version yourself and even use that against Google.
This applies more to the open code part than the API thing though, as I'm not sure where they stand seeing their competitors using their products against them, especially with the recent Orkut and Facebook fiasco. - Hellicus, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1ruledi_07 @ hotmail.com
thanks :) - grimax, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1A day late and a dollar short, but if you have any left: grimtj@gmail.com. Cheers
- spectecjr, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1Spoken like someone who's never heard of Alta Vista. Or Gopher. Or any other technologies for that matter.
- GWAN, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1So your digg username is your gmail email address too? Sorry it's late here...

- Myztry, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1Here's to a future with new and interesting things, and the ability to look back on the last two stagnant decades and reminisce much like my grandfather did about the great depression. In the past tense...
- PunkFenixJT, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1The Future of Google is this:
http://www.geekologie.com/2008/06/03/terminator.jp ... - Shawkab, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1Hey, Shawk@shaw.ca
- sh0em0nkey, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1Why do people worry about such things? There is no way to predict the future.
It goes one of two ways, it either sucks or it's awesome. If it sucks, you move on and find something better. - AeroGuy, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1...not to mention that prophesy is a verb. He meant prophecy. The spelling changes along with the pronunciation.
