You could brush by another guy in counter-strike and it would jerk the opposite way pushing you to the ground... hopefully by this point we would have decided on a suitable padding within the sphere... and perhaps a bit bigger seeing as how your step would always feel a bit "up-hill" in this relatively small sphere.

its cool, but without some motors creating resistance, you can not come to a stop easiely [or qucikly] and you can't turn on a dime.

Seriously though this thing is awesome. Who cares if you're running up hill you'll get a better workout playing in this thing. Tight!
- toyotaboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wacky engineers.. how about this, look down at your trackball.. yeah, now imagine that ball is about 5 feet in diameter, build a round platform with a hole cut out, put up some walls (so you have a small round room with a trackball sticking out of the floor), and there you have it.. Make little swivel balls underneath with some resistance, make the ball out of rubber so you have some grip (and slight cushion in case you fall), pad the walls, and you'd have yourself a marketable VR device.
