- mauiwowi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+54Thanx for playing MPAA, we have some lovely parting gifts for you.
- acex23, on 10/11/2007, -1/+49Does anyone else think this is going to turn out to be basically a porn site in about a week?
- maximumsteve1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+32Pirate Bay gives me hope for a better world.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+31Their legal page is amazing.
The responses are exactly what a manipulate and corrupt industry deserves. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+28@pands (#6759288)
Weed and hookers. They're pirates, after all. - Durrok, on 10/11/2007, -1/+25Not sure what those parting gifts are but I think it involves a foot being lodged into an ass.
- MercedRocks, on 10/11/2007, -1/+22Different, has an interview with Brokep about what the site will be about......Thanks though.
From the article:
"In a chat I had with Brokep this morning on good ol' fashioned iRC, he was kind enough to answer a few questions about the site and what it will all be about." - pands, on 10/11/2007, -0/+19What the hell happened to the thousands of dollars they raised for buying that oil rig nation island?
- BugMeNot2, on 10/11/2007, -2/+17Don't forget the vitamin C.
- spaztech, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13http://thevideobay.org/404 or http://thevideobay.org/**insert number here** hmmmm..
- darthsuo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14Is that . . . midget porn?
- djrocksteady, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12wow, TPB competing with google. I cannot say I saw that one coming! They have got some balls, thats for sure.
- Shizlak, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12Wrong description.
"Ends all the speculation and formally announces what the "it's coming project" really is."
No, The video site is not the "it's coming project". From The Pirate Bay blog ( http://thepiratebay.org/blog ):
"Oh, and the surprise that's coming... IT'S STILL NOT WHAT PEOPLE THINK IT IS... it's been speculations on it being Playble.com or the video somewhat secret video site."
That quote is saying it is NOT the video site or playable.com, but something else. - tidu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10Dont want that scurvy
- collegebarscene, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9I was hoping for the "untraceable" Bittorrent 2.0 Deluxe Limited Ultra Platinum Elite edition... but I guess I'll settle for video streaming for now. We'll see what it's like. I couldn't read the article cause it's blocked at work :(
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9I do, to get TV shows that most other TV torrent sites don't have.
- staffrocket, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9that's just cute.
- eplawless, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9what
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9If they're being honest, it will be Google trying to compete with them, very shortly. Either that, or they will have to adopt the no censorship policy.
- collegebarscene, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Awesome! So there's still hope for the top secret torrent client that somehow makes it impossible for ISPs to track what you're upping/downloading.
That would completely devastate everything the MAFIAA is doing now by getting IPs and all that fun stuff.
Here's to hoping. - HyperJack, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9thevideobay.org
- rudy23, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8"We're going for a free system, with a solution to not care so much about copyright but still not breaking laws,"
Yeah Ok. - rudy23, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Initially I was excited to see what kind of a solution they had. I was hoping it would be more of a distributed type player where users stream and download just like torrents. more the users better the quality of the strea. Unfortunately its just like youtube plaguing it with same problems such as bandwidth and poor video quality.
- Neiby, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Does anyone know how this differs from www.vid2c.com?
- SoCalChris, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Personally, I'm glad they didn't go with a torrent-like client, for two reasons.
First, our internet connection sucks and has very limited upstream bandwidth, which makes using bittorrent practically impossible. Upgrading our connection isn't an option, we're already paying $100/month for the "premium" connection from our area's only ISP.
Second, most of the shows that I watch aren't programs that are all that popular with most people, so using a torrent-like client would make that unusable too. - NJPENSO, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4No, but thanks for the site :>
- revenge7, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Only 1/3 midget porn.
- Tsen, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@Durrok
Or perhaps a retractable baton. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Exactly my sentiments! I'm excited!
- noodhoog, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Completely anonymous* bittorrent already exists: www.i2p.net
(* pedantic note: Okay, nothing is COMPLETELY anonymous, but I2P is definitely anonymous enough for all practical considerations) - dnthomps, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Just a tip, when blocked at work, try Duggmirror. Works like a charm for me.
- chubbstar, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4yea. but what a porn site! and when im tired from all that masturbating i can kick back and some full length movies.
- ajamer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2wrong thread
Yarrrr!
*bury* - Derrekito, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Yeah OK what? Laws are relative, what is illegal in the US may not be illegal where ever the servers are located.
- nondescrypt, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3@ Embrace
Has you head been stuck up your ass since Napster was launched ?
I'm sorry if you don't find the pirate bay's "legal" section as funny as most of us do, but if you want the pirate bay to "play nice" with Disney's army of lawyers then I think it is you who should be called names....
TPB FTW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3why did the original commentator get buried. this is on the ***** top ten twice now. do we really give that much of a crap that this needs to be on the top 10 twice.
fkr3 is the only one who gets it - kilworth, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:0YA4Gsd9Ei4J:thevideobay.org/recent+inurl:thevideobay.org&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=2&gl=us
lol @ midget porn - noisuf, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3dang, at first I thought it said Parrot bay. Now I'm depressed.
ps. thanks mom for the alcoholism - kilworth, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2well vid2c doesn't host the videos by themselves, which means that they will go down sooner or later
- AkshayGenius, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I would like to see your reactions when you spent hours and countless hours of work on a software and find bieng distributed to free here...
- Osjpr, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2The RIAA and MPAA have not acted honorably by stealing money from consumers when they sell defective products, fix prices and make legal threats to intimidate and coerce consumers, also calling them thieves to their faces. I have absolutely no sympathy at all and more and more people are being informed of this behavior by the industry.
- gubin09, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4school blocked access to site :(
- actorboy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1@ willynilly
Please list the necessities of life manufactured by the entertainment industry. - mauiwowi, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Me too, this could be better tho as long as stuff is available right away & they have the bandwidth.
I watch Lost at about 7:30 west coast US :-) - Yoshi39, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1FTW = for the win
- phoque, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Does anyone else have the problem with videos not willing to play?
- actorboy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1@ Osjpr
Here's an idea then. Stay clear of their products. I haven't bought gas from Exxon since the Valdez. Never been happier about it either. Know why? Because I took a stand based on ethics, not selfishness. - xmuzik, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2this is gonna cause a stink of global proportions that will be great :)
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Oh yeah Mr. Holier Than Thou? What if your stand had to be taken against ALL oil companies? Would you give up all petroleum-fueled transport, food harvested with petroleum-burning machines, and plastics?
I think not. Furthermore, media companies are ripping people off by crippling the products they already bought and can't return. For example: DVD players don't have RF outputs, but VCRs do. So if you have an older TV and VCR in your bedroom, you should be able to hook the DVD player up to the VCR and enjoy the movie you paid for. Well FAT CHANCE, because Macrovision will scramble your picture. So you have to go out and BUY more equipment for no reason, a waste of your money and time.
Not to mention the fact that you can't (legally) rip the content from discs you PAID FOR and load it on a server or portable devices for your own use. Well, that's *****, and it warrants retribution. These companies owe us for deliberately wasting our time and money. So grow a goddamned nut and start taking back from the criminals who ripped you off. - Osjpr, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Lets hope that i2p works out. There's nothing more irritating than elected governments trying to control those who elected them. For some reason they think it is their duty to control the lives of everyone in their country and in their private homes.
