- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+28When will people stop referring to Alexa as a popularity rank? The only people who use the Alexa toolbar anymore (which the rankings are based on) are spammers. Their rankings arent even close to being scientific.
- RedLion, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20I think that an "Arrrrrrgh!", in this case, would be more than appreciated!

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17In this case, is good press really good for the community? How does this not attract more attention to the anti piracy groups?
- mikepictor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13I like the spirit of piratebay, but they are so poorly organized. I find it much harder to find any specifics there than the other two.
Torrentspy is by far the fastest, and most complete, so long as you can suffer through all their ad choices. - porcupus, on 10/12/2007, -6/+16usenet rule #1
Don't talk about usenet. - chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9good news. the torrent sites I use are still flying under the radar.
- DASH, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Adblock Plus what?
- Haplo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9"Alexa = spyware." Of course is Alexa spyware. How else can they measure? It's like saying that Google spies on you when you enter a keyword in the search field and click on the button.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9How many times do I have to tell people that Alexa is extremely unreliable and only measures its toolbar users' stats? Have you ever even heard of or seen a computer with the Alexa toolbar installed?!
- damonlab, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Alexa = spyware.
- noghead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The pirate bay sucks if you ask me, they never have what im looking for. Torrent spy and/or mininova almost always do.
- eddie72, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7A few of the sites listed in the summary were always more popular than ISOHunt. I dare not type them though as I don't want the man to damn them.

Polite as usual,
anakata - etruscan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Maybe it's me - but when I do a search on Pirate Bay, I rarely find what I'm looking for.
Let me rephrase that, I can usually find what I'm looking for, but it seems to bring up A LOT of results for things that aren't even remotely what I'm looking for. TorrentSpy or Mininova bring back a much more succint and comprehensive list of results. Does anyone else find this? - zongus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Tis true, the search engine on piratebay totally sucks.
- burndive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@bhavi
You do know how to count to three, don't you? - skeptictank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I don't know how many times the riaa and mpaa have tried to shut down pirate bay but since it's in sweden they've been unsuccessful so far. my guess is that at some point the entertainment industry will grease enough palms to get even foreign torrent sites shut down. Oops, got to get back to my utorrent!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3torrentspy tries to open up a popup for every single time you click... of course you can block it, but it's annoying that they would think anyone would want to see a bunch of popups when browsing their site.
- Chandon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3glooper23:
You really think that there are any anti-piracy groups that don't already know about these sites? If they could do anything about them, they would have done so long ago. - bobothn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@etruscan
tpb isn't the best tracker or search out there but i constantly use them just because i believe that they will always protect their users. they have got the best attitude of any of the sites. i mean come on they are trying to buy a country. - sExl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3So does that include yourself?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1etruscan, I've too found that TPB is less that perfect when I want to find something, whereas torrentspy gives me what I want every time (provided the thing is available yet). I'm sick of getting fakes and obvious virus infected results when I use TPB. TS has a lot less of these 'problem' torrents.
- despreocupado, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the people who have alexa installed are the people who do not know enough to remove it... hardly what i would like to think of as the majority of internet users... therefore these statistics are highly biased towards non-technical users of the internet....
- aserer511, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1:tup: Our generation will be known as the one that got digital freebies....
be they legal or not :( - MartyMcFly713, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Alexa is a great tool for anyone in the SEO industry. But not really worth anything if you don't have a need to spy on your competitors ;)
- blizzok, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ever since Demonoid became semi-private is has been horrible.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Isohunt is back again :)
- ihatemakingscre, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Adblock Plus Drencrom or Synthamesc
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just goes to show that pirates will always find a way to ***** OVER artist rights and continue taking stuff without paying for it (and then hilariously blaming the RIAA for their actions).
- BobbyMC, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1After Isohunt had been down for a few days I went to The Pirate Bay and it was working better than Isohunt had in a long time. I immediately found what I was looking for and it downloaded instantly. Isohunt being down actually helped as Isohunt itself has gotten wholely unrealiable in my opinion. 9/10 files are fakes and even finding a fake of what you need can be impossible given how fast it has grown.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You mean you've got to get back to ***** over artists and not paying them for their work. ***** their rights!
- nathanwalker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, when I had a trouble ticket involving spam...
- rickremixx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1private torrent the only way to go !!!!
support - underrun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Who are you? Johnny Tightlips? Make with the links!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5Awesome, awesome to the MAX!
- aydoubleyou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I knew when I saw this article people would complain about Alexa's inaccuracy and possible note of being "Spyware". It may not be 100 percent accurate, but it does give you the basic idea of where a website stands does it not? And of course its spyware, how else would they track which sites are more popular than the next?
- duggmania, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I never use isoHunt - I don't like the layout. If I'm looking for movies I use http://www.flixflux.co.uk, which searches all of those sites anyway (and demonoid), otherwise I just use TPB. Good to see that isoHunt is back up though. The more torrent sites the better!
- Keyframe3D, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1mininova sux
- GasPoweredGnome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm glad isohunt is back, hasn't really failed me yet!
- zongus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I don't have a basement.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yes, let's protect the piracy sites. ***** artists, and ***** their rights!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1usenet is too damn expensive for me ($50 for 3 months!) and comcast only lets you download 2 gbs in a month, although I miss their blazing fast download speeds (usually 1500 kb/s). Use btjunkie for torrents you cant find on private trackers, I can get at least a respectable 100kb/s through that.
- flyingagent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I am glad that ISOHUNT also directed us to other torrents on the web while it was done.. My loyalty towards it stays...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Aw, shucks. Having to suffer through ads when pirating artists' works!
What's interesting is that if you use AdBlock, aren't you ripping off the piracy site? Is that a good or bad thing in the skewed moral world of a pirate?
I guess anything that ***** people over and ensures they don't get paid for their efforts is good enough for pirates! - ravencin, on 12/20/2007, -0/+0well thats nothing weird coming from mininova http://torrentsmininova.com
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Awesome! ***** artists, and ***** their rights! Anything that lets you leech off the work of others without compensating them is definitely a good thing.
