This is CNN. - groverblue, on 10/23/2009, -5/+64Now they just need real news.
- lolerskate, on 10/23/2009, -15/+41The new CNN just as retarded as the old CNN.
- revenz, on 10/23/2009, -2/+19who gives a crap?
- depro9, on 10/23/2009, -8/+24If you need proof that Lou Dobbs is a piece of *****... http://bit.ly/4cZhsE
WTF CNN WTF!? - loconet, on 10/23/2009, -1/+16That's the type of thinking that got the current design as cluttered as it is. Blank space is not always bad.
- MacroDaemon, on 10/23/2009, -3/+18I can't wait for even less news and more youtube clips!
- evil-doer, on 10/23/2009, -0/+14i wonder if they will fix their video player? for 2 to 3 years now theyve constantly shown 4:3 video stretched to 16:9.
- roijen, on 10/23/2009, -3/+15That was really well put together.
- teet, on 10/23/2009, -1/+11Do they still have 4:3 video stretched out to 16:9?
- dwcharn, on 10/23/2009, -1/+9I am happy about anything that gives TED more viewers.
- Sogui, on 10/23/2009, -3/+9Covering the things you keep clicking on because when it comes down to it WE'RE STILL A BUSINESS
This is CNN - heroicus, on 10/23/2009, -2/+8Looks like www.last.fm
- theexitwound, on 10/23/2009, -0/+6White space in graphic design is just as, if not more, important than used space.
- maestroGSWJ, on 10/23/2009, -1/+6Don't worry, it will be filled with a "*****" of advertisements...
- obamabarack, on 10/23/2009, -4/+8Same *****
Different Way - EntropyFan, on 10/23/2009, -2/+5In all fairness, the Balloon Boy was news and Twitter "Cyberthieves" is legit information for folks who aren't savvy with technology.
Remember, most people view computers like cars; they know how to get them from point A to point B, but have no concept of how that is done or the risks they incur in the journey.
The Gosselins is a perfect example of what is wrong with CNN however. CNN needs a pop-culture page, well away from where the news lives.
And anyone else notice how much coverage there was for Apple revamping their line and how little coverage there was for the launch of Windows 7? Not that either should be on the front page (they have a tech section for that, after all) but ignoring something that affects 85%+ of those that use computers while pointedly promoting a competitor with less the 10% of the market is just BS. - darkfus, on 10/23/2009, -4/+7The only thing that saves CNN from their bad designs is that the competition is so much worse.
- rossnyc, on 10/23/2009, -1/+4Logo in the middle looks nice - Overall a nice retro but modern feel.
- Tubal22, on 10/23/2009, -1/+4Uhm...
One person is documenting the plight of latinos in america...
One person is talking about illegal immigrants graining our welfare system.
What's the problem? - tofslie, on 10/23/2009, -0/+3Full Screen shot http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/2175873/CNN_com%20Homep ...
- depro9, on 10/23/2009, -0/+3WTF TED I thought you were cool? Pfft guess not!
- porplem, on 10/23/2009, -1/+4That's a feature it makes them look more badass.
- scy1192, on 10/23/2009, -0/+3I thought the same thing
- Eminemdrdre00, on 10/23/2009, -1/+3It looks like EPSN.com now...
- WestonP, on 10/23/2009, -3/+5Why is this newsworthy? I regularly visit CNN.com, and I still don't care about this. *yawn*
- Gdietz, on 10/23/2009, -0/+2I want a Balloon Boy filter.
- Timbo1970, on 10/23/2009, -4/+6I think it's to appeal to their target audience. Illiterate. The rest go to BBC or CBC.
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 10/23/2009, -2/+4Has that been submitted to Digg?
- EmmanuelGoldstn, on 10/23/2009, -0/+2Oh yay! They have opinion pieces by David Frum? That guy is such a piece of *****. Nice job snatching him up CNN!
Video of Frum in action:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjzzVz8-m4Y - xelloss, on 10/23/2009, -2/+4It looks really good, I love CNNs video section with the live video and on demand stuff.
- Carver520, on 10/23/2009, -2/+4Wow... It actually looks really good.
- illestlyrics, on 10/23/2009, -0/+2Looks like its going to be harder than ever to just read an article.
- oughterator, on 10/23/2009, -1/+3Its because you aren't reporting enough lies and your anchors don't cry enough! I'll stick with FOX, thank you!
- JROXZ, on 10/23/2009, -1/+2Why, so I can stop thinking for myself?
- somberwolf, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1Content Neutral News
- oughterator, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1yes
- Aslan72, on 10/23/2009, -1/+2Reminds me of BBC's site...
- thrashertm, on 10/23/2009, -1/+2Will they allow us publicly posted comments on their crappy articles? I'd like to excoriate them every time they put a story like this balloon-boy fiasco on the front page.
- xelloss, on 10/23/2009, -1/+2Your mom.
- gordigor, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1What about CNN International? The best news organization besides maybe the BBC. It sucks you can't get CNN International in the states. It's always what I watch overseas.
- sleeknerve, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1When i went to Europe and Africa this summer, that was the one of the only English channels i would get. I preferred BBC much more. When i watched CNNi i felt all i got were things about "going green" and the same news over and over again. Maybe i didnt watch it that much, but thats the way i felt.

Overused much? - ugacrew, on 10/23/2009, -5/+6I like the new design. It's much better and looks easier to navigate. There's a better flow.
- Wayfarer12, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1Fox News isn't any better.
- WunderTroll, on 10/23/2009, -6/+7Too bad there's nothing worth visiting the site for.
- wilhoitm, on 10/26/2009, -0/+1Does anyone know what did they used to give their web site the new Web 2.0 look?
- inactive, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1No, thanks.
- WhistlinTom, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1I think it looks great..... pictures aren't bad. It's what people want, anyway... look at USA Today/.
- WhistlinTom, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1LOOK AT IT!!!!
