- Sornos, on 12/02/2008, -2/+48I don't get it?
Also, Turing sitting alone is hilarious. - TheRedeemer, on 12/02/2008, -2/+47What's the point of this?
- Thater, on 12/02/2008, -0/+24That's a toga, and obviously because he was in a fraternity...
- MikeFromAmerica, on 12/02/2008, -2/+25Maybe Digg needs to use AI and then stupid ***** like this wouldn't make it to the front page.
- MrFurious2k, on 12/02/2008, -0/+12Buried for fake. We all know that AI will be used for porn in the future and this image contains none.
- mikbunn, on 12/02/2008, -2/+14I really don't want AI modern dance.
Beep boop IAMTHEFLOWER boop beep. - iDoraemon, on 12/02/2008, -0/+9I had a short paper published and a poster presented at that poster's conference (AAAI Chicago 2008)! Our field is represented on the bottom of that poster with that dude on the park bench sketching on a Tablet PC.
For those who don't get it, it's just a poster of all the A.I. research fields graphically represented that were covered in this year's AAAI conference (one of the prestigious A.I. conferences in the world). A.I. research seriously needs more girls in it though...
Anyway, go Sketch Recognition research! - twiztidsinz, on 12/02/2008, -1/+9This is really sad....
According to them, in this futuristic world powered by AI, that poor gal in the lower left corner STILL cant walk :( - PHJames88, on 12/02/2008, -1/+8BRB, gonna play The Sims.
- shoover, on 12/02/2008, -0/+6And the sidewalk isn't wide enough for her with the signs and bench on it! Next frame shows her going on the road and getting hit by that smart car. :(
- xsecretfiles, on 12/02/2008, -1/+6Quick somebody close the exits and set the rooms on fire!
...haha I love the sims - trigisfun, on 12/02/2008, -0/+5The rest of the philosophers have someone to talk to - perhaps they found out he was merely a Turing machine...
- mmockett, on 12/02/2008, -0/+5Maybe Digg users need to use I when deciding what to digg.
- super_spyder, on 12/02/2008, -0/+4there are no bathrooms in that building, what a crappy place to live/work
- xprojects, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3I think it's supposed to be a puzzle, like one of those magic-eye things, but I crossed my eyes at it for a while and couldn't see anything.
- elnerdo, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3That surgery robot looks pretty frightening.

- linagee, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3Have a party on the roof where nobody can leave. The music keeps going, people keep dancing, and the music prevents anyone from sleeping.
- mrwright613, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3They seem to have forgotten the ones that turn against us and wage war on humanity.
- john2kx, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3My AI professor has had this posted on his office door for who knows how long.
- Testiculese, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3Maybe it's modeled after his statue of sitting on a bench.
- Submerge, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2This is the future but they still have electric wheelchairs? You'd think by now (now being the time this picture takes place) we'd have some robotic mechanism to allow wheelchair-bound individuals the ability to walk upright.
- mcwattersm, on 12/02/2008, -1/+3Keep trying.
- jonahan52, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Maybe she's going to have robot surgery at the clinic to get her legs working.
- BenKenobi88, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Fails for not having the AI Director from Left 4 Dead. Nothing is more advanced than a pissed off AI sending zombies your way!
- mikbunn, on 12/02/2008, -1/+3Alpha Iota?
- Tiak, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1I sort of feel sorry for him... Maybe Aristotle rejected him?
- minuslars, on 12/02/2008, -1/+2PV=nRT (upper right corner ish, on the board)
FTW - nyeus, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1"Augmenting Cognition" = potential for awesome porn technology
- liquidsgi, on 12/02/2008, -1/+2This is an awesome representation of AI as it stands right now or in the near future. We live in very exciting times!
- sethrubenstein, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1I have no idea whats going on in this mockup all I don know is it looks like it would be a fun Sims game.
- DeadFox1, on 12/02/2008, -1/+2Check out the person on the right side of the picture sitting at the computer under "social computing".
fapfapfapfapfap? - nyeus, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1yeah it looks like it's in the middle of a BSoD
- copypastry, on 12/08/2008, -0/+1dugg for PV = nRT
- clone4crw, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1I don't either.
- Sornos, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1We used to call it the Pervert law (PVRT). Made it easy to remember.
- karan1003, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1isn't optimizing paths and flows the same as navigation when it comes to vehicles?
- dfsjdkflasjk, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1This looks like a crazy expansion pack for The Sims.
- Stevethegreat, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1Greeks did not wear togas.
- keithjinternet, on 12/02/2008, -1/+1The Sims: A.I.?
- KidShowtime, on 12/02/2008, -1/+1Stop. Stare. Flirt!
Why did the girl in the yellow shirt get mad at me...? - polishlanman, on 12/02/2008, -1/+1dugg for the window on the second floor that nobody is going to use
- manmademark, on 12/02/2008, -1/+1this should keep the damn social bunny away. I hate that little runt.

- MazdaEric, on 12/02/2008, -1/+1Why is the security guy dressed like a thief?
- uptwolait, on 12/02/2008, -2/+2Nice list of new buzz words. I will now tell my wife that I was just "social computing" with my secretary.
- Amberwise, on 12/07/2008, -0/+0This picture was created to show how much AI is used today (and includes a number of items just coming out of the labs) it also includes autononmous vehicles, but these have been blocked by legal matters (IE, if there is an accident, who is to blame?)
To those who have said 'this isnt AI because it's a routine' or something along those lines, congratulations! your suffering from the AI Effect!
You might also be aware that those text-services letting you chat to hot girls? Yeah, those are chat bots, a form of AI.
Also note the CAPTCHCA test you filled out whilst entering comments, this is a system designed to stop AI systems, though as of late they can be easily averted using modern optical recognition programs. -
