aaai.org — Artificial Intelligence's first half-century produced great accomplishments, but many of the field's successes have remained unsung beyond the AI community. In response, AI Magazine has developed a poster to help educate students, faculty, and the public about AI and to spur them to find out more about the field.

  • iDoraemon, on 12/02/2008, -0/+9I had a short paper published and a poster presented at that poster's conference (AAAI Chicago 2008)! Our field is represented on the bottom of that poster with that dude on the park bench sketching on a Tablet PC.

    For those who don't get it, it's just a poster of all the A.I. research fields graphically represented that were covered in this year's AAAI conference (one of the prestigious A.I. conferences in the world). A.I. research seriously needs more girls in it though...

    Anyway, go Sketch Recognition research!

    To those who have said 'this isnt AI because it's a routine' or something along those lines, congratulations! your suffering from the AI Effect!

    You might also be aware that those text-services letting you chat to hot girls? Yeah, those are chat bots, a form of AI.

    Also note the CAPTCHCA test you filled out whilst entering comments, this is a system designed to stop AI systems, though as of late they can be easily averted using modern optical recognition programs.
