- eplawless, on 10/12/2007, -9/+54also, I haven't seen kevin rose's genitalia all the goddamn time this past year.
that is neither a challenge nor an invitation. - Cytranic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+45I think giving Kevin the credit for ripping down the old internet, and building a new one is a bit much no? I mean, the kid didnt build the Internet, nor did he rip it down.
I like Kevin, seems like a smart guy, but He is getting way to much credit for "Building the Internet" - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -19/+62Kevin Rose is the Lindsay Lohan of the tech world.
love him or hate him. You cant avoid him. - Smily, on 10/12/2007, -2/+33Yes, we should all judge people by their haircuts.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -23/+51Kevin, the creator of the site you are using .. and inserting erroneous space underneath your comment just pisses me off.
- Murdats, on 10/12/2007, -7/+33emo, that explains the black, dark design of digg
and why he is always crying about his empty soul and whatnot on diggnation - Sumyunguy, on 10/12/2007, -8/+31How could Kevin Rose build the internet? I thought Al Gore did?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+28Why do people digg anything about Kevin Rose all the time?
HE SAYS THE SAME THINGS OVER AND OVER IN EVERY INTERVIEW.
I'm burying this one as lame. - Wavey, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Extraneous space, not erroneous space.
- musicbear, on 10/12/2007, -5/+20Does that make Alex the Paris Hilton?
nothing erroneous to see here... - h3smith, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14The summary left out the part explaining that Kevin Rose cures cancer too.
- Spetz, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13I think it's more the fact that Digg is getting exposure in the UK. The UK lags way behind the US in terms of Digg exposure...and this article in a prominent UK newspaper is news-worthy, i think.
- spider418, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12pls post your addy
- kevin - bolly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Agree with Spetz, it's more about the good UK exposure.
Also, don't think it's clear from the page but this was a small part of a series of articles on the main players in Web 2.0. http://www.guardian.co.uk/weekend/page/0,,1939196,00.html
I submitted it under http://digg.com/tech_news/All_your_favourite_Web_2_0_entrepreneurs_profiled_by_The_Guardian but guess I'm rubbish at headlines :) - rynoon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9This just in: For breakfast this morning, Kevin Rose had scrambled eggs and bacon. Stay tuned for updates as they arrive.
- hutectro, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Digg, a site where users submit stories they've found on the web, then other users vote on them. The most popular make it to the front page.----( WHAT A CROCK OF ***** )
- Murdats, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13haircuts, thats it
and here i was judging them by their actions and attitudes, I now see your was is so much more efficient, saves having to talk to them to judge them, I can pre-judge them, is there a word for that? - Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8OMG ANOTHER KEVIN ROSE STORY I MUST DIGG IT OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG HE'S SO SEXY I WANT TO LICK HIM
(a good imitation of the usual digger? i think so.) - keyrat, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12Seriously. The 'interview' is a dictionary definition of digg. There's nothing interesting at all here. Marked as lame.
- koregaonpark, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10Some people really don't know who Kevin Rose is. Can you guys just lay off? Some of my friends (this is not one of them) that I've invited to Digg don't know much about technology, and no one should expect them to know who Kevin Rose is. He runs/owns this site, cool. Not everyone knows that.
- GirSaysDoom13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7kevin, how much tubing did you have to buy to build the internet? wow!
- tastypastry, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Some diggers are just in love with Kevin. Don't get me wrong, he seems like a cool guy and I wouldn't mind meeting him and Alex but thats only because I enjoy watching Diggnation.
Oh and like someone else said. Kevin says just about the same thing in every interview. If you've read one K.Rose interview, you've read them all. - Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8And, neither can sing for *****!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I remember watching Kevin "The Dark Tipper" on Tech-TV's The screen savers. Leo, and him would talk about Kazza Light K++ and Stuff. Later he was upgraded to co-host, and then the show turned into Attack of the Show. A few weeks later (or months) he left. Then sometime after that Digg showed up along with a bunch of other web 2.0 Ajax sites.
Some one should write up a kick-ass biography of his life (so not that one), not "tell everyone that digg is really cool" - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Agreed, I too have been watching Kevin since TechTV, and the ScreenSavers we're on. (Ahhh the good'ole days - ok enough with that) But honestly, this kid has come a LONG way, from showing us how to hack an Xbox when Paul Allen owned his network and show (that takes huge cajones!), to dating the Hottie Producer Sarah (I mean she was much hotter than Morgan Webb). Kevin, imho you have always been entertaining and now with Digg; your allowed to be Entrepreneurial while entertaining us at the same time - keep up the good work.
- Wootery, on 10/12/2007, -8/+11I don't know your age or anything, but going by the average digger-age I can tell you that going around saying you prefer mothers isn't going to do you any favours.
- hutectro, on 10/12/2007, -7/+10WalMart Cuts Prices for Holidays
NEW YORK (AP) -- First, toys, now electronics. Wal-Mart, which began discounting its holiday toys in mid-October, announced on Friday deep price cuts on almost 100 electronics, setting the stage for price wars in advance of the holiday season. - Giever, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8Well, it was erroneous of Hydraulix to put the space.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6"luckiest" only word I agree with
- banderbe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I don't hate Kevin Rose, just his band of ass kissing groupie suck ups who follow him around like intoxicated Beatles fans, posting sycophantic brown nosing posts like this one.
- Wavey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4So he "demolished the old Internet and built a brand new one," eh?
Al Gore's gonna sue his ass! - mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -19/+22This is, perhaps, the most useless story to ever hit the front page of Digg. I know that's a long shot, but I'm making the call.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -24/+26Kevin Rose: The Emo 29 year old of the Web 2.0 'bubble' that is due to burst as soon as people realize there's no real income involved.
- lordthor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3apparently, enough people liked it, or it wouldn't be here. "Useless" applies to probably 90% of news.
"Interesting" is the key factor. - d3dm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Um, how one chooses to wear their hair is a decision that they make and is fair game as far as I'm concerned. It's the same as what clothes they choose to wear, or what tattoos or piercings they decide to get. I don't see what it particularly has to do with running a website though.
What you shouldn't judge people on is things that they have no control over, like the color of their skin, who their parents are, their sex, etc. - greymaxcat, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Kevin seems like a nice guy... maybe he could lend me some money perhaps?
- ch28kid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I love Kevin Rose back then when he was at TechTV.
Im a big fan of "The Screen Saver" and I love his little dark tips about moding xbox, pc, and other good crazy stuff. I really wish you were still at TechTV.
And banderbe, if you hate him so much, why you use digg? - dizzybastard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"60" million dollars
- m3mn0n, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Stupidest comment ever.
Kevin designed digg from the start. It's a success because users like the design. Thus, it's a success because of Kevin.
My god you're retarded. - Smoov, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Kevin Rose got lucky. If Digg hadn't caught on then something very similar would have. Nothing against Kevin--more power to him--but Digg is a massive success because of the USERS, not Kevin.
- m3mn0n, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1LMAO true
But I love KR, been a fan since he was "D-tip" on TSS - Derekzw11, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1So since when does 3 questions count as an interview? Especially submitting it to a site full of people who have heard the answers countless times before.
- Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Yay Wal-Mart? I dugg you anyway.
- TheMadBomber, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Kevin is a ***** emo-*****.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Alcoholic punk with bad hair. Plus he is an Apple kiss-ass.
- B0jangles, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5Strikingly laid back in that he is still talking about web 2.0!
- heinousjay, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5That's because he's hip and laid back
- techguru2006, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3I wouldn't call Kevin Rose the one who "demolished and built a new Internet" but I do give Digg credit for supplying links to some of the best videos on YouTube such as Sasha Baron Cohen (creator of Borat, Ali G, and in the movie Talladega Nights) being interviewed on the Daily Show:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dutJ31sIW68 - M2Ys4U, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Yeah, can I get a share of your "$60 million" please.
- keyrat, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4not really. look at netscape.com and tell me it could be a huge success. it's a digg clone. kevin had to make it attractive to the right users, and he had to get a variety of users also.
