- poprocksandsoda, on 09/20/2008, -0/+12There's one robot hand that has never needed to evolve, and when I was a kid I always wished I had enough money to buy two of them:

- atlquaker, on 09/21/2008, -0/+10Everything that follows is a result of what you see here.
- dhessi, on 09/21/2008, -0/+8yes it does
- SkyNexus, on 09/21/2008, -0/+7My robot hand is called "The Stranger."
- bagboyrebel, on 09/21/2008, -0/+5because of the super advanced technology, duh...
- NotYourProdigy, on 09/20/2008, -1/+5With nano tech, it could take any form it wanted.
- Ramenhood, on 09/21/2008, -0/+4It starts out like this..
- Phantom1045, on 09/21/2008, -1/+5Heres the REAL future of robot hands.
http://www.ultimatetoys.com.my/new/Terminator/T800 ... - LilJimmyNordin, on 09/21/2008, -0/+3We all know that evolution is not true. God made these robot hands. Look at how the banana fits perfectly in the robot's hand...
- hmunkey, on 09/21/2008, -0/+3LOL.
- LilJimmyNordin, on 09/21/2008, -0/+3Please die. PLEASE.
- molotovcat, on 09/21/2008, -0/+3I want to be Yoshimitsu from Tekken/SC. Something about being able to rotate my wrist 360 degrees at high speed is AWESOME!
- paperclips4u, on 09/21/2008, -0/+3LOL.
- dstz, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2"You know, left, down, rotate 62 degrees, engage rotor"
- judgedeath2, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2yeah, i'm thinking about getting robot legs.... it'd be a risky operation, but it would be worth it.
- inactive, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2Dean Kamen's arm is awesome... as well as the rest of them. Hopefully they can come out with some low cost ones so our veterans and other people with missing limbs can get prosthetics quicker.
- ChileanGoD, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2No robot devil hands?
- LilJimmyNordin, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2Not so awesome when you're masturbating and snap your ***** off.
- Kazbaeden, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2Who wants to bet the first test reserchers do on these things is giving people the finger?
- Hegemony, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2I was watching the DaVinci surgery robot folding origami at the end and thinking, "Well, that's not so impressive. It's kinda making a mess of that swan." Then at the end they showed that the whole piece of paper was smaller than a penny. I didn't realize the robotic graspers were so small. I take it back, that's really impressive.
- Skewt, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2All I could think watching the last one is someone's been watching Ghost In The Shell, and we're obviously not there yet. Then it shows the crane and it's a quarter the size of a penny.
I said holy ***** out loud. - simeon4110, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2Just like in Terminator...
- mizzoujohn, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2*****! where is John Conner's mom when you need her!!!
- dhughes, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2 I think the real problem is a way to connect an artificial limb to a person without straps, cups, belts etc. i.e. actually implant or join it to muscle and bone permanently. The flesh and hardware barrier would be an obvious problem, maybe a way to get around that would be to make the limb, attach it to bone and muscles then cover it in skin grown from the patients own skin cells. It would be a flesh covered robotic arm surrounded in blood, nerves and skin; real skin.
- atlquaker, on 09/21/2008, -0/+1Everytime I sleep on my side, that robot appears.... haha, gotta love the stranger!
- modeless, on 09/21/2008, -0/+1Intel is working on a robot hand that "sees" with "electric field pretouch":
http://www.jumpcut.com/view?id=235A1F14759B11DD826 ... - jacobu9, on 09/21/2008, -0/+1Well I hope they don't make them look too good, otherwise I won't be able to tell if it's really Yul Brynner or just an evil robot clone coming after me with a six-shooter!
- shagg187, on 09/21/2008, -0/+1Dugg for the awesome beat on the "NASA Omni-Hand" clip :D
- Flashtone, on 09/21/2008, -0/+1$9.65 + free shipping for something that the possibilities are endless. sounds pretty good to me.
- sg7791, on 09/21/2008, -0/+1Why are those so expensive?
- Atsumori, on 09/21/2008, -0/+1The last video was cool.. but then I saw the scale of the origami and I was blown away.
- liljay2k, on 09/21/2008, -0/+1Glad you didn't say "The Shocker".
- Timborako, on 09/21/2008, -0/+1#8 is pretty cool
- kd1s, on 09/21/2008, -0/+1Of all of them thus far I think the Kamen arm is very interesting. It seems the philosophy behind Kamen's Deka Group is to improve lives. That's a good philosophy for a company.
- zeroshiftsl, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1When the pic was cropped on the front page, I totally thought that it was AT-AT getting a blowjob from another AT-AT.
Maybe it was just wishful thinking from a Star Wars geek :( - leerayIG88, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1shape of a penis?
- dhughes, on 09/21/2008, -0/+1 Now that I think about it maybe you don't have to connect to muscles and bone, just implant a very strong magnet in the end of the limb and also on the end of the prosthetic some of those super strong rare earth magnetics that can lift hundreds of pounds. Then all you need to do is attach it like the magnetic Macbook power cord connector, but in this case it shouldn't be easy to remove and should be able to hold a lot of weight, the end of the prosthetic would have to have some sort of sleeve that rotates to reduce friction or be motorized.
- AcidVision, on 09/21/2008, -0/+1dean kamen is brilliant
- inactive, on 09/21/2008, -0/+1lol I won't digg or bury you since you have 13 thumbs up.
- corvairkid, on 09/21/2008, -0/+0Bruce Campbell was able to build this in medieval times! With basic hand tools and a piece of armor!
Somebody was going to say it. - Gamb10r, on 09/21/2008, -1/+1Futurama's did it!
- Hobbes57, on 09/21/2008, -0/+0Dugg for the crane as big as a penny at the end.
- pd2187, on 09/21/2008, -1/+1I'm from the future. Do you know John Connor?
- pavman552000, on 09/22/2008, -0/+0while all the arms are interesting, i'm curious about the cost of these arms and how readily available they will be for those in need of them.
- Rivetgeek, on 09/21/2008, -1/+1better yet can it form the stranger?
