The same thing probably happens with posts critical of Digg...someone doesn't agree with the entire post because it's easy to disagree with one thing, and so the multiple posts criticizing Digg got buried.
In the case of this recent "profile update", Digg really screwed up when they broke every rss feed with the changes (yet to be fixed). Somehow, a post on this major screw-up has not yet reached the frontpage, but a huge mistake like that deserves some recognition to get it fixed. - webcure, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Interesting post geekchic.
One question...
Why can't we be friends? - geekchic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2No Ron Paul stories?
:( - misterpony, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2fyi, joestump is correcting the rss issue: http://digg.com/tech_news/DIGG_You_cannot_be_serio ...
- Matrixsta, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2For fear of being tased
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4if your story is mediocre it doesnt deserve frontpage
if your story is a duplicate it doesnt deserve frontpage
if your story is a blog or news story duplicating someone else's content, it doesnt deserve frontpage
I bury what I can but a lot of stupid crap gets through, if you see something mediocre just bury it, there is plenty of other news out there, too much infact, the only things that should hit front page are:
insightful news
outrageous news (but not sensational, there is a difference)
amazing news about wonders (insects, buildings, history, animals, ...)
educational news
well written topics that actually make you think - MikeonTV, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3If this is true then you should be able to select 'the newest articles' on the digg search page to find out which ones were really buried. I suppose you would rather just jump to conclusions. There also is no proof that any of these so called 'policed articles' were slamming the new digg. Fail
- technoredneck, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Gentlemen, start your tinfoil hats!
- Error601, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Maybe dug down for being repeats of repeats of repeats?
- OrangeSugar, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1And buried as well!
Great job, Bury Brigade! - pictureDIGGER, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3It sure is easy to get the word out if digg is censoring now, isn't it?
Kevin: *Aims gun at foot* - suxmonkey, on 10/10/2007, -6/+3They were put on the autobury list which, according to Digg's TOS if you read closely, isn't supposed to exist. Whoops! Cat's out of the bag! Too bad this story will get buried with the rest of them, even though (I predict) it gets tons of votes in a short period of time. Go figure.
