- whatthefu, on 11/14/2007, -8/+495People are really ***** sensitive.
- IShouldBeWorkin, on 11/14/2007, -4/+323I was expecting like 30 seconds of Fresno bashing after reading the article, not the two words 'like Fresno' that was in the commercial. People seriously need to lighten up.
- Saiing, on 11/13/2007, -1/+232Jesus Fresno! You may not be a cheap-ass ghost town, but at least we've learned from this ad that you have no sense of humor.
- MikeMitchell, on 11/13/2007, -2/+207I've been to Fresno. Its a *****.
I mean come on, K FED is from there, nuff said. - lkv87, on 11/14/2007, -15/+195Im digging this because I think its cool that digg got noticed, not because I think the ad was insulting or wrong; I actually quite liked it.
- chenyu768, on 11/13/2007, -1/+146Dude I grew up in Fresno, and Toyota is right Fresno SUCKS. Seriously why would anyone wanna stop in Fresno unless they're running out of gas, what for the wonderful underground gardens?
- holygram, on 11/13/2007, -2/+145People should really chill sometimes.
- Spamcan, on 11/13/2007, -6/+133America: land of pointless censorship, our government might get bogged down in endless red tape most of the time but they've got bitching and banning the most inane things down to a science. God forbid anyone in Fresno has their feelings hurt.
- Hazardc, on 11/13/2007, -3/+100Dear toyota,
I liked the ad, even though i dont like the prius that much personally. Now please grow a pair, put this back on the air, and ignore the oversensitive whining jackoffs.
yours truly,
Digg users. - mojaam, on 11/13/2007, -6/+96Uh, how could you say such a thing :(?
- fef560, on 11/13/2007, -2/+89Not saying a turd smells doesn't make it not smell
- D3koy, on 11/12/2007, -0/+85As a Fresno Resident, I'll admit it...that ad is ***** hilarious...
- Mohdoo, on 11/13/2007, -2/+76If the Digg effect was the reason for it, I get the feeling that Marijuana would be legalized, taxed, and available at every convenience store.
- joe90210, on 11/12/2007, -3/+60you guys are ***** babies
- mrASSMAN, on 11/13/2007, -1/+53Seriously, I thought it was a fantastic ad. And Fresno really is a low budget, tourist stop, ghost town .. even though the ad didn't imply that AT ALL.
- guymal, on 11/13/2007, -3/+53"please accept our deepest apology for this serious error in judgment" - jeeez
- EdgarVerona, on 11/13/2007, -0/+44I agree. That's the sad thing... anyone who lives near Fresno (as I do) would know that it IS, in fact, pretty much just as described.
It's not biased or hurtful. It's just how it goes. - asancho, on 11/13/2007, -3/+41Dear Senator Fienstein,
Im glad you took time out of your busy schedule to defend the city of Fresno. Really i do, but in the future, when your taking precious time out of your day to do something productive, please, on behalf of all Californians everywhere, kindly look around at the current administration in charge and WAKE THE ***** UP. Many thanks.
Sincerely,
California - KibibyteBrain, on 11/12/2007, -0/+34Yeah, it was clearly a hyperbole. This reaction is insane.
- ArthurSucks, on 11/12/2007, -1/+31What? Fresno IS a ghost town. Shesh.
- Xondar, on 11/13/2007, -1/+28The ad was right, Fresno is a low budget tourist stop ghost town. Seriously, it really, really sucks there. What a horrible place. I don't think anyone should apologize for that ad. In fact, they need to make more ads pointing out what a dump that ***** little town is.
- milktea, on 11/13/2007, -1/+27Fresno seriously sucks. It's literally a smelly cow town full of almost nothing. I have three or four friends from there and even they hate it..
- robbh66, on 11/12/2007, -7/+33What's insulting and wrong is the blog article. They take a source that doesn't mention Digg, or anything remotely close to Digg. Notice it gets to the front page of Digg, and conclude it was in fact Digg, that got this ad pulled. http://abclocal.go.com/kfsn/story?section=local&id ...
Yes, blogs are obviously the journalism of the new millennium. Story buried. - l33tspam, on 11/13/2007, -0/+26Is it just me or does this seem really STUPID?
Take a joke, Fresno. - inactive, on 11/12/2007, -2/+26J.R. "Bob" Dobbs said it best:
***** 'em if they can't take a joke. - quaunaut, on 11/13/2007, -0/+23Comment abuse: As someone living in Fresno, I will say, it is not a Ghost town. Perhaps a Zombie town with all the walking dead and otherwise unintelligible idiots, but not a Ghost Town.
..thusly, it is a tourist trap for Shotgun Enthusiasts! - MikeMitchell, on 11/13/2007, -2/+21I'm digging the ***** out of this, only so people can trash talk Fresno some more. It deserves it. Probably one of the worst towns in the history.....of the world.
- porplem, on 11/12/2007, -2/+20Telemarketers should be the ones upset here.
- NoShameInc, on 11/12/2007, -1/+19Lets take a quote from the actual article
"Toyota is now considering Fresno as a location for one of its new plants which would mean thousands for jobs for Fresno."
next time read the article and not the summary - clickmyface, on 11/12/2007, -0/+18the "government" didnt ban or censor anything here. why would you imply that? Toyota pulled the ad because it was getting negative press coverage. Our constitution actually is pretty clear about what speech is banned and what isnt. This was fully allowed speech.
- Insignian, on 11/13/2007, -1/+17What is a Fresno??
- Xondar, on 11/12/2007, -1/+16Ewww! That's beyond perverted!
- EdgarVerona, on 11/13/2007, -1/+15Sadly, they ARE a cheap-ass ghost town, in addition to having no sense of humor.
- mrASSMAN, on 11/13/2007, -0/+11OK, so maybe they did imply that (I had to watch it a second time to catch the remark). But really, they didn't say that it was a ghost town, they just said it was a low budget tourist stop, akin to a ghost town. Anyway, I thought it was a light-hearted jab that added humor to the commercial. Fresno shouldn't take themselves too seriously, everyone already knows it's a strange town filled with crazy people.
- ggnictee, on 11/13/2007, -4/+15I'm also from Fresno and I think the ad was way off base. ...Fresno isn't a tourist spot. We're on the way to a lot of tourist spots but Fresno is not the destination. but we grow 90% of the fruits and nuts in the US so be nice or we won't send you any and you'll get scurvy.
- Shaman760, on 11/13/2007, -0/+11Well...Fresno. Dust bowl of California.....that whole area of Bakersfield aka BAKO up to Fres-NO is like a little slice of hell. IF it's not burning up hot, it's soupy foggy.
In essence, it sucks up there for the most part. - az76107, on 11/12/2007, -1/+12pointless retarded Politically Correct censorship like this pisses me off to no end.
congratulations America, just when i think you've hit rock bottom, you whip out a jackhammer. - gamabunta, on 11/12/2007, -2/+13Nice to see our taxpayer dollars hard at work. Way to go Feinstein.
/sarcasm - PopcornDave, on 11/13/2007, -0/+11But what about the lovely Greyhound terminal and the card club downtown?
/sarcasm - troymccluresf, on 11/12/2007, -0/+10"Visit Fresno! ... Hey, at least we ain't Barstow!"
- leathersleeves, on 11/13/2007, -2/+12hello. i'm chris hansen. why don't you take a seat over there...
- blaze03, on 11/13/2007, -0/+10Seriously. The Digg effect? Please. The digg story they linked to that "made the front page" and "got the ad pulled" had like 300 diggs.
- jtbandes, on 11/12/2007, -2/+12I thought about that too much just now.
- schavira, on 11/13/2007, -1/+10Has she ever been to Fresno?
- mishaco, on 11/13/2007, -0/+9damn , fresno smells like cow ***** .
- ShiroRyuu, on 11/12/2007, -3/+11Religious prudes so prudish that even the British kicked us out. This country is ridiculous when it comes to tolerance and taking things in good fun.
- StanleyKoolPrik, on 11/13/2007, -8/+16"...and in the future, everyone will be...gay. Gay to the core. And they'll drive Priuses. And, there will be world peace, as well."
- Lou3000, on 11/12/2007, -2/+10Good going Digg, you got this completely blown out of proportion.
How about the fact that probably 80% of America didn't even get the Fresno joke. Low budget, tourist stop? It should have been non-specific, like the great ball of yarn. - orlyfactor, on 11/13/2007, -3/+11Bro's before Fresno's..
- onimusha115, on 11/13/2007, -2/+10Yeah, people are big sallies. Seriously, who would bitch and moan about a car tv ad that dosent think your town is a hopping place. Get over it. I think they should continue to run the ad just in the general area of Fresno just to spite them.

What is Digg?
