- gtmartini, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Connection by Boeing is just in process of being discontinued due to lack of financial return. :-(
More info at: http://www.boeing.com/news/releases/2006/q3/060817a_nr.html - mikev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://www.duggmirror.com/tech_news/The_Definitive_Guide_to_Airline_WiFi/
Anyways, it's nice.
Disappointed to see my most frequent airline doesn't have any internet access at all (Olympic airlines), but then again us Greeks take forever to do anything. *yawn* - robinwilson, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6What great information, as someone who travels extensively throughout the world, connectivity is very improtant to me. I now am able to book my flights accordingly.
- mimabd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Looks like I'll have to fly round the world twice to get time to take advantage of all this technology. Live tv and the internet has got to be better than the usual inflight movie
- MrCowley, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5WOW! Someone spent a lot of time on this one. This really is definitive. Shame some of the smaller charter airlines don't get WiFi on the go. I did read recenlty that new Boeing planes will have WiFi built in when they are produced.
- samwm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Ok seriously, this is impressive but I wonder quite how much time the author has on his/her hands! I seriously hope somebody replaces Connexion properly (Panasonic?) and this guide stays accurate, though. Awesome.
- dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Because 80 diggs always means 80 hits to the website?
- Ben - vinko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Aside from Boeing discontinuing the Connexion service Airbus had long discontinued the Tenzing service.

Note that the fully qualified url makes it clickable, and that it's dUgmirror rather than dIggmirror. - samwm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The OnAir service now incorporates the Tenzing service:

Part of the problem of installing large slipstream-disturbing domes on the roof is that once the FAA certifies them after installation, they *can't* be removed. So someone is going to have to pay for the extra fuel costs of flying planes with these things installed. Instead of letting the domes suck up fuel and do nothing, I wager someone will try to revamp the service and make it active again. - inactive, on 08/06/2008, -0/+0
