Can you guess what it is? - george@CASE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i guess this is best for logos and simple graphics. Photographs lose too much detail. The flickr example looks sweet. the mona lisa one, well, i wouldn't have figured what it was if i saw it.
- maxf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2bah, digg doesn't like URLs between pointy brackets. So:
textorizer page at http://www.w3.org/People/maxf/textorizer
new version will be announced on http://people.w3.org/maxf/blog - beelz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Heres a example of a none text image

I've done of couple of fixes to the source so it compiles without warnings. I've also made available linux executables at . I'll make other changes soon, watch that space: . From the feedback I got by email, it seems a windows version would be welcome. Anybody up for it?
- Warpling, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is what digging is all about. Nice

Looks good. I dig it! - Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that's cool!
- starbirix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you're trying to compile the C code on OSX (and I suspect linux)... libpng is an easy enough installation but gcc will still choke on textorizer.c until you change #include to #include
- cyssero, on 04/18/2009, -0/+0awesome :)

http://blog.outer-court.com/archive/2006-02-15-n34.html - cbrack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0pretty nifty tool. digg++
- pupa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah it requires Firefox 1.5

- joshthejest, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm submitting a better textorized mona lisa... Be warned, it takes a bit of time!
http://textorizer.whatfettle.com/?image=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.puzzlehouse.com%2Fimages%2Fwebpage%2Fmonalisa1000.jpg&text=Mona%0D%0ALisa%0D%0ARocks%0D%0AHard%0D%0ACore&nstrokes=10000&threshold=200&width=800&height=600 - k3n85, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0holy hell that kills the processor a lil bit :D cool though
- beelz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice Big Bold on digg cloud
- Tetsuo6995, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0can't open the created file =/ , everytime it ask me to download a file without any extension :s
- pupa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice effect... it uses SVG so I don't think it works in Opera or IE... (Opera outputs an SVG but it's not correct because it only uses SVG Tiny)
- ThugEsquire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0to dothebackstab: beelz's headline is better.
- surfing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very cool Maxf!
It would be cool if it took the images width and height default.
Windows version would be nice - TheWorkz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Weak, nothing larger than 128kb. No Digg
- jrooks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Its definitley a tool for specialized design use, not something I would need everyday. Its still very cool!
- Warpling, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0why don't you link to it?
But Wow, I did the diggnation shirt that has a black backround, and it didn't shade the backround! REALLY EVEN MORE COOL!!!
diggnation shirt...

http://textorizer.whatfettle.com/textorizer-win32.zip
Like max's Linux original, it only reads local png files and writes SVG .. - bahaal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Whats the best convertor between SVG and other formats? e.g. PNG JPG etc
- eggo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0bahaal: use irfanview; http://www.irfanview.com/
neat little web app, DIGG+ - zzzneterlinken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0There are more interesting services and scripts e.g. ASCII art. Have you seen this ? If no vizit http://zzz.net.ru/
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0awesome.
- L.Jenkins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, this has got to be one of the lamest things I've ever seen so many people get excited over. The resulting images from this thing just look like they've been put through a really bad photoshop filter. ASCII art is cooler than this. Weak.
- pdowney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hey diggers, maybe you'd like to submit your creations to Textorizer flickr group, might save on your bandwidth :-)
- pdowney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0bah, digg lost my link to the flickr pool, it's here:
http://www.flickr.com/groups/textorized/ - WeeklyGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that's really cool!
- pdowney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"this is pretty awesome. thank god for flickr releasing their api"
yes, but we're only using flickr to host the results :-)
now if flickr could handle SVG ... - zzzneterlinken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How about new music ? You can create new flash movies with spicy music. Look like here http://www.spicylyrics.com
- FogDogg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Very cool...but I wish you could save the output rather than it being a Flash file."
It's not a flash file, it's an SVG file, or Scalable Vector Graphics file. Open it in GIMP or something to save the output as something else or edit it.
Oh, and this works perfect in the Technical Previews of Opera ;). - cathode, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0DIGG
- CrazyForSW, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's soo cool! Dugg!
- MonkeyFCoconut, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yatzee! err.. I mean Di66! ;D
