- INTERCEPTOR, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I'm glad someone finally caught them at their shenanigans. It's bad when you have both parties, whom the story is written about, agreeing that TechCrunch made the story up.
- dollars5, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Not just one story - TC has fabricated two stories - just today - read more at http://forums.pligg.com/pligg-news/8356-techcrunch-not-happy-pligg.html
Dag of Videosift has said they are forced to built their very own platform due to their internal requirement - but TC fabricated to create an "Anti-Pligg" stand - pls refer http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/08/22/largest-pligg-partner-defects-after-announced-sale/. And in other story when the Chief of WordPress and Automattic mentions nothing of Pligg - TC fabricated the story as "Pligg is one of the open source projects for profiteering from their WordPress code"
Very bad blog ethics :( - deadlift, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2TechCrunch is known for shady tactics.
- str3ama, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2These big blogs don't play fairly at all and they cry and wince when others pull their tactics. TechCrunch fabricates details and in this case the entire story. And Mashable spams Digg for traffic with resource lists. These two sites are pretty disgusting in their means of acquiring views, but I think I prefer TechCrunch because it's much easier to just smack some links together and give it a grandeur title like "500+ Resources to Touch Your Nose"
- inactive, on 11/10/2007, -0/+1Hmm...no problem...:)
http://www.vindianz.com - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I stopped reading techcrunch and mashable anyway (I only read the links to them from digg anyway) but I dont have time to care about what cool site launches tommorrow or who got bought out, digg gives you all the news you need and if you need more theres smashingmagazine
- fezzen, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Buried as inaccurate. VideoSift emailed TechCrunch and basically confirmed everything they posted.
The only thing TechCrunch "fabricated" was their reasoning for the split, which was a simple misunderstanding. Go read the offending article again (at the bottom):

What is Digg?
