- feanix, on 12/15/2008, -0/+3Imagine what would happen if they had a duopole!
- Rapax, on 12/15/2008, -0/+3Actually, they used to have a near-monopole. Nowadays, practically every branch of their business has other competitors as well (Sunrise, Orange, Cablecom just to mention a few).
And not that I'd want to defend having a monopoly as being a good thing, but they were actually very efficient and reliable, as long as they were the de facto monopoly. Since they've had to lower prices to compete, the quality of their service has also reduced quite badly. - neliago, on 02/16/2009, -0/+1Swisscom should be able to have better service.

Swisscom is my internet provider, and now, i am seriously worried about my connection, hopefully it won't just
shut off on me any moment.
Oh, and, Le Fail. - BUrAph, on 12/15/2008, -1/+2"Le Web, which paid €100,000 to Swisscom to ensure lightning fast Internet..."
Why is this in Euros...? This is Switzerland we are talking about.... - ohreilly, on 12/15/2008, -0/+1"For this 5th edition we want again Paris to be the center of the Internet for 2 days on Dec 9th and 10th 2008
This 2008 edition moves to a new level , starting with a brand new place in Paris the 104, which has an easy access by metro."
When did Paris move to Switzerland? - Hardcase, on 12/15/2008, -0/+1Le what? I've never le heard of it.
- EwanSpence, on 12/15/2008, -0/+0Was at the conference - it was a mess. I bet there would have been a huge amount of bandwidth, but not enough Local DNS Servers.
- oninbonin, on 12/15/2008, -0/+0What a bummer!
- juliereader, on 02/10/2009, -0/+0yeah the stupid conference was actually a great example of waste of time.

- inactive, on 12/15/2008, -6/+1We web event without internet access... hilarious.
- Schmich, on 12/15/2008, -8/+2First of all what is Swisscom (trying to) providing internet connection in France? Secondly, what can you expect from the Swiss telecommunication provider that almost has a monopole in the country...they just do whatever they want. Last thing, this is Europe meaning suing gets you nowhere. Even if one wins the money gained is ridiculously low.
