- anemene, on 01/15/2008, -4/+102The police do realize that The Pirate Bay is far from the only torrent site out there right? I mean, I love TPB as much as the next guy, but if it goes down, it's not like all pirating is going to stop.
- DontFretBrett, on 01/15/2008, -1/+65***** the RIA.. Sweden?
- hs112186, on 01/15/2008, -3/+46I don't use TPB often but they've always brought a smile to my face. They'll def win in court.
- inactive, on 01/15/2008, -2/+33Are they retarded ?
- paulg2000, on 01/15/2008, -3/+33Would someone please hop on and seed the 4,000 documents? I'm at like 92%.

- jinky32, on 01/15/2008, -14/+34TPB is good, but demonoid was the best :(
i've downloaded ebooks from TPB ad then gone on to buy the real thing - i never would have done that without the oppportunity to try them for free first.
anyway, torrent sites have done the music industry a favour - they've taught millions of people how to download music online - once the stupid labels get their head around this they'll realise this gives them a massive opportunity because the education around the tools has already been done - mogebier, on 01/15/2008, -1/+21I have no idea how things get downloaded into my computer. It does it all by itself. I swear. Really.
- Melodik, on 01/15/2008, -1/+20This is a lot more dramatic than it needs to be. Sweden's copyright laws are so incredibly open that the country itself has been a safe-haven for pirates since the dawn of the internet. Not only do the laws put The Pirate Bay on top, but one of the country's leading attorneys VOLUNTEERED to defend them in court when they were first raided last year.

stuck at 99,8% - inactive, on 01/15/2008, -2/+14I've always wondered who the douchebags are that come up with all these pages. Like the people who type of hundred page reports n stuff. wtf right?
- Jareth86, on 01/15/2008, -1/+12Somebody get Phoenix Wright. I hear he's good at dealing with prosecutors.
- scheibs14, on 01/15/2008, -5/+16I'm just happy Juno DVDSCR is out

- loganhid, on 01/15/2008, -2/+12ships ahoy!
- inactive, on 01/15/2008, -2/+11they will take their servers off swedish mainlands and board them on ships just like real pirates...yarrrrr
- plutorobot, on 01/15/2008, -1/+9most incredible thing about the whole piece is that fact there are politicians in a government somewhere on earth, that claim to be for the Free Market, and ACTUALLY ARE for the Free Market.
- rstarr, on 01/15/2008, -0/+8WOAH! DREAM BIG!
- bizkit00, on 01/15/2008, -2/+10nah sweden is still good, there's just a retarded prosecutor there.
- Grumps, on 01/15/2008, -1/+8Hey they run porn torrent network too you know? Pure*** (if you already knew the site)
- Skullflower, on 01/15/2008, -3/+10The Pirate Bay can't lose if they are brought to court. What they are doing isn't against Swedish law in any way. And even if they did lose, the citizens of Sweden wouldn't stand for it. They even have a party called the Pirate Party after all.
Torrents FTW - anillop, on 01/15/2008, -1/+8Keep your spam to yourself
- vapblack, on 01/15/2008, -2/+9I don't please explain.
- DaviDaviDaviD, on 01/15/2008, -0/+7I love TPB to bits. I just love how the admin laughs in the face of legal action. All the powarghhh to him!
- leerayIG88, on 01/15/2008, -1/+7oh *****! So...who wants to buy some software from me? Trade? DVD for your DVD?
- dafragsta, on 01/15/2008, -0/+6Unless you drop your stylus, and then he's screwed.
- thesauce, on 01/15/2008, -1/+6Lets hope some of that money people gave in the ***** island incident goes towards their legal fees so that they can defend themselves.
- inactive, on 01/15/2008, -0/+5pissing in an ocean of piss?
- mangojump, on 01/15/2008, -0/+5From the article linked to above - "Unhappy with all the paper wasted on the case, Brokep and the “The Pro Piracy Movement” bought 5 trees, to compensate for the environmental losses."
I love those guys! - Blueee, on 01/15/2008, -0/+5you... retorted by calling him fat?
What the ***** are you, a second grader? - Authustian, on 01/15/2008, -1/+6Yes, I'm afraid they are.
- rwmnau, on 01/15/2008, -0/+4That's run by the same guys? No wonder it always has exactly what I'm looking for - that makes complete sense now.
Also, I'm apparently the only guy on digg who admits to downloading porn... - SubjectiveC, on 01/15/2008, -2/+6Oh, if I could only digg you more.
- theratdotus, on 01/15/2008, -2/+6till TPB takes over the world?
- mattb5, on 01/15/2008, -1/+5Yeah, they're not the only one, but I would say they are by far the most brazen. Their legal page is one of the funniest sites on the net. They just totally put these morons in their place with the stupid legal letters they send THAT DON'T APPLY in this country!
Am I the only one that thought this meant they uploaded these documents to be available on TPB? - loganhid, on 01/15/2008, -1/+5fish ahoy!
- vapblack, on 01/15/2008, -0/+4lol you caught him lolol
- inactive, on 01/15/2008, -1/+5chips ahoy!
- markgl, on 01/15/2008, -13/+16your stretching that real thin there pal.
- Giblet2, on 01/15/2008, -4/+7actually, Oink was the best
- jmpeagle, on 01/15/2008, -2/+5huh? Do you mean "drop in the ocean"?
- subliminalurge, on 01/15/2008, -1/+4I've bought things after downloading as well. There's... Oh wait, I didn't buy that since I already had a copy. But I did go out and pick up... No, wait... I just burned that to a CD.....
More seriously, since I began downloading MP3s in the late 90s, I've purchased exactly 3 CDs, and that was only because they weren't available yet online on their release date.
I'm sure there are some people who actually do go out and buy the disc after sampling a copy online, but I'd be willing to bet $100 that they are far, far outweighed by the combination of people who don't buy because they got it for free already, and the people who don't buy because after sampling the new disc realized it wasn't worth the price.
To claim that torrent sites are doing the music industry a favor is a HUGE leap that requires a lot of imagination, a healthy dose of hand-picked anecdotal evidence, and a crapload of wishful thinking.
I'm not trying to stick up for the music industry, as I said I've pirated plenty of music myself. But come on folks, let's be realistic here.... - yetAnotherCroc, on 01/15/2008, -1/+4That is a completely different issue. The Pirate Bay hasn't stolen anything. The piratebays users have on the other hand. But suing the piratebay for that is like suing DARPA for what people do on the internet. After all they created the thing.
- orangefly, on 01/15/2008, -0/+3this thread is dumber than a screen door on a battleship....
- xdevit, on 01/15/2008, -6/+9Actually if TPB was taken down, there would be alot of sites that would just close down in fear. There are alot of sites that are riding behide TPB.. if you know what i mean.
