- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+152Social network users cheating the system to get ahead? Why, this is unheard of on digg!
- Murdats, on 10/11/2007, -4/+94is anyone else getting sick of these people who believe digg has the power to overthrow governments and stop the earth from spinning?
sure digg has an effect (on more then just servers) because there are a lot of us who are real people in real life
but its not often enough of us have a strong enough maintained interest in a cause for us all to rally against/for it and put in the time and effort required to really make a difference, its easier for most of us to just write a comment of digg a story - MiltonWaddams, on 10/11/2007, -1/+82With Youtube starting to pay users, it's going to get a whole lot worse.
- JesusFaction, on 10/11/2007, -5/+691. Find an interesting YouTube video
2. Add your own site branding and URL
3. Upload to an account and disable comments so no one complains about you taking their clips
4. Auto-refresh the page 50,000 times
5. Get in Top Viewed List
6. Profit
No guesswork involved here, I suppose - zweben, on 10/11/2007, -4/+52Damn, it's hard to believe the biggest video site on the internets hasn't implimented something as basic as only counting one view per IP address per vid.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+421. Find an interesting YouTube video
2. Post on your blog
3. Submit your blog post with the video on Digg
4. Ignore the duplicates and click "Submit anyways"
5. IM all friends to digg it
6. Make the front page
7. Profit! - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -10/+45The truth is that Digg has no power at all.
- fkr3, on 10/11/2007, -2/+34That's not going to help. It's the work of minutes to create a script that scrapes proxy lists and then iterates through the list requesting whatever url.
What they need to do is only count signed in members who actually click play and reach the end or near of a video.
Use that for the comparison, while the inflatable views remains displayed. - williamw, on 10/11/2007, -3/+30The problem is rampant on Google Video also.
- swavalier711, on 10/11/2007, -1/+25Just switch the default from "most viewed" to "top rated."
Makes a load of difference; can't be hacked and only puts up the highest quality.
easy, no? - verstohlen, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18Not really a virus. More like a bug.
- ICSU, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18@fkr3
Why would they do that? They are very happy about these numbers because they can "cheat" advertisers with them. - TheLD, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18I say we all go to http://www.supermoviesdownload.com and activate autorefresh.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16Yeah, it's not really all that great (their so called "revenue sharing"). It's not a system like Revver or Metacafe it's pretty strange. Only a few people can do it. You can apply but you will only get in if you are one of the more popular people.
- fkr3, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15They could keep using the inflatable numbers for display purposes, but they could use the real numbers as the sorting category.
Everybody wins. - honeymustardn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15Another thing they should implement is a new comment system, not unlike Digg's, where member's could just vote on the quality of the reply. All I see now is 11 year old kids posting "gay GAY GAY!!!1", and it's kind of annoying now.
- PSUstoekl, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16This reminds me further of how annoyed I get when I see bloodsucking companies with horribly stupid names (WildTangent, freeipods.com etc) making a quick buck.
- mig174, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13@murdats
"..because there are a lot of us that are real people and in real life..."
wait, what about the rest of us? - badave, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Is it bad that they don't log IP addresses? It seems like that would be a good thing too.
- dojonz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11@ TiCL
Dugg down for gay reply. - mojaam, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7The History Channel was just talking about him and mentioned why his predictions only show up after events happened.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7nostradamus predicted Youtube would decline and eventually fail due to their laziness.
- mojaam, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Not sure if that will do more good than harm seeing they are probably equipped for it. But it's probably worth a try...
- jester55, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6lol now i'm gonna start doin that for my home made videos
- Niz1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6thats a good idea, get the firefox extention and your set to go
ReloadEvery
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/115
change it to 1sec lol, it wont work unless a lot of people do it. - lowerlogic, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6In the grand operating system of life, I'm only a shell script.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Usually you can tell someone has cheated when the ***** video is 0:04 seconds long and it has 129,743 views and it was posted 1 day ago. It's pathetic. Of all the videos I've posted, I've gotten my views the legit way.
- noerrorsfound, on 10/11/2007, -0/+51. Cut a hole in a box.
2. Put your junk in that box.
3. Make her open the box. - risteman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+410 tabs and refreshing every second. Everyone join the fun! If we all work together with our views and auto refresh we can DESTROY the website
- shiftt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Not really, here's an example..
video A - 500,000 views - rated 600 times at 4.2 stars
video B - 164 views - rated 4 times at 4.9 stars
If you order those by rating, video B will appear on top even though video A has a more accurate rating. - OriginalLucid1, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6You mean like Crooks&Liars,Think Progress, Rawstory and Mediamatters dominates Digg?
- jimmiss, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Search engine related posts on Digg are all frauds btw. With few exceptions. There are a lot of users with all of their posts on some sort of SEO/marketing subject. Beware!
- Conquerist, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4do you mean freeipods.zoy.org?
- facelogic, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4either that, or they'll fix it
- iburl, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Buried as Lame. This is not a virus and is totally uninteresting. Who cares if YouTube's view ratings system is trickable? As long as I can still see cool stuff for free I won't be complaining about YouTube or the wankers who game their ratings system.
- Themauvestorm3, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I actually like the videos that he uploads, though.
- hammadmemon, on 02/03/2009, -0/+1awesome trick to download YouTube videos with no clicks,

http://movies.nitinblog.com/vongo-review - mc7winkie, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I remember doom3.zoy.org Same thing?
- gregdogum, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1If you guys really want to make a difference for these bastards, if its safe to assume a decent amout of digg users and internet users are using firefox then try and persuade as many as possible to install adblock... the adblock add on blocks supermoviesdownload.com site and bam. they are screwd cuz ppl wont visit their site anymore.
- db0255, on 10/11/2007, -5/+6you ever notice that the most viewed always has that useless Japanese anime crap? i'd rather have bugged videos that are slightly funny but cheated to get on there than stupid ass anime.
- iamdexter, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1YouTube sucks after its bought by Google, Use others like metacafe. They are much more better.
http://www.diesel-shoes.org/ - dengzhi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1yea ***** supermoviesdownload what a stupid ass name anyway
- johnburk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Why is this beeing digged? This was posible since the first day YouTube went online. It has always been easy to get thousands of fakes views.
- xstarsprinklesx, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4I haven't noticed that, but no matter what I search for on YouTube, the results are full of anime videos. What's that all about? That's got to be some kind of cheating thing, because they're usually towards the top no matter how I sort.
- bladejin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1With a wholesome name like "supermoviesdownload," I would never expect shameless promotion tactics. Shame on you "supermoviesdownload."
- jsp123, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1It is a redirect to a sponsor, I doubt it will do much, if it did they could just get a few sponsors to rotate through.

What is Digg?
