- evileyetmc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think the main problem as far as integrating the two is that the demographics of the online locations they are targeting tend to not have much clout in buying practices. For example, Myspace is composed mostly of emo teens/tweens, neither of which have much say as to what their families purchase. On top of that, community sites such as Youtube tend to dislike the use of the site for commercial ventures (Lonelygirl15 comes to mind).
The intartubes is a much different playing field than TV as far as marketing is concerned. In order to be successful, the companies have to be more creative, and create more of an incentive for people to visit their websites (TFA mentions this second point).
