- jggube, on 12/01/2008, -0/+23It makes sense, sometimes you have to be creative in your searches to find specific information - so that extra little creative thinking and brain work can help boost your brain's (for lack of a better word) power.
- ADLima, on 12/01/2008, -0/+18I don't know... I'm going to have to look it it up.
- Zalian, on 12/01/2008, -2/+14That was kind of obvious. The kind of interaction and activities you do on your computer can't be but good for the brain.
- inactive, on 12/01/2008, -1/+12I can see how. You learn the more you read, Right?
- socialexpert, on 12/01/2008, -1/+7It's really interesting information for the people like us who working on net.
- MrFurious2k, on 12/01/2008, -1/+7Apparently the author has not spent a lot of time reading flame wars because I imagine that would negate any positive impact of searches.
Poster 1: I think... blah blah blah
Poster 2: You're an idiot for thinking so.
Poster 1: I hate you and everything you stand for.
Poster 2: You should be murdered by a water buffalo.
Poster 1: You are a water buffalo.
Poster 2: If I could, I'd round up all the people like you and burn them.
Poster 1: Nazi. - Meekus, on 12/01/2008, -0/+5Eh. I think we have some of these "studies" to make us geeks (consumers?) feel better for wasting so much time on the intertubes.
- crushfan, on 12/01/2008, -0/+4Yes, I especially like the part where it mentions searching on the web boosts the brain.
- orlyfactor, on 12/01/2008, -0/+4Wow, you mean thinking about what you want to search for and using relevant terms actually boosts your brain? Go figure!
- derekmas10, on 12/01/2008, -0/+4If something can boost the brain power of people 55-76, please hope they use it to assist their ability to drive.
- inactive, on 12/01/2008, -0/+3I can feel my brain boosting right now.....ahhhh.....
- ansatsu29, on 12/01/2008, -0/+3So how about Digg?
I think Digg can make us a lot smarter too. :D - Swivelstick, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2Supple Elephants Orifice?
- Ceryn1126, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2Its cus everything you read on the internet is TRUE!!!
- inactive, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2my internet searches boost more than my brain!
- Dailydose4me, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2On yahoo? boost brain ? seriously??
- inactive, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2You ask Google a question and Google gives you a answer. You remember the answer thus learn. These studies are a complete joke.
- d3dm, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2Help, I've fallen and I can't google.
- chrisemc, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2I am not so sure about this. I've found that my increased reliance on searching the internet, more so than "boosting my brain" has rewired my brain in such a way that I'm dependent on technology. For instance, instead of picking my head up and looking around at my surroundings, more than once I've been guilty of staring at Google Maps on my phone meanwhile the place I'm looking for is literally right under my nose.
- Zoplax, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2This "study" smacks of Captain Obvious...
- beabis, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2Maybe the olde tyme dead tree media types at UPI need to do some web searching and brain boosting. This story was everywhere on the web, including Digg, six weeks ago.
- tj241, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1Yet another reason to search for "midget porn"
- Krys1987, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1They obvioulsy didn't use search engines when doing this study...
- GabbyGobstopper, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1BRAIN BLAST! Like the other day, I was searching for purple polka-dot elephants and I felt my brain becoming smarterer...
This whole article is a joke right? If people actually get paid to do this kind of research I should hop on board! - ravitejag, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1It really takes a lot to get the accurate result we want.
Try searching for a site you already know with keywords and see how hard it is to find things on search - OliveStreet, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1"You should be murdered by a water buffalo." LOL!!!!
- inactive, on 12/01/2008, -0/+14chan FTW!!! :3
- Gavin, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1Yeah I feel really stupid when I use a Google search. I feel even stupider when I use it for spell check.
- BotchaMcCoola, on 12/01/2008, -1/+1Internet searches are painless and fun. If they are helpful brain exercises what would solving a difficult technical-writing problem do for us?
- 6oo63D, on 12/01/2008, -0/+0Aha, I didn't know those rogue APs were just people looking for information (on my PC)
- SingleMaltWSKY, on 12/01/2008, -0/+0I know Kung Fu
