Of course, if all ISP's were to disconnect all customers who downloaded a few copyrighted songs/movies/tv shows, they'd have no customers at all so they be *****. Considering the fact that New Zealand legalized the distillation of alcoholic spirits for home use in October 1996, one of the few nations that allow 'moonshining', I have a very hard time castigating them for much of anything.
This new regulation is obviously poorly thought out, though. The amendment makes it legal for any party to accuse another party that belongs to an ISP and have them CUT OFF. No evidence required. The onus of innocence then lies with the defendant. How can one be asked to prove a negative?
