- gbarberi, on 07/23/2008, -0/+9If you check the links, you'll notice that many of the accounts have already been removed. We're just posting them and making the user accounts more visible to Mixx staff. In the end, it's their call.
Ok, some of us may be downmodding ("burying") their submissions.
Some of the blindvoters voting up spam and doing damage to the site are ex-diggers or current diggers. Some are unique to Mixx. They don't have the time for the site and only care about their f*cking karma/leader stats. They can't spend more than 5 minutes on the site, so they just befriend everyone on the site and blindly vote up their stories hoping for reciprocation.
Watch the thread; it'll get a lot longer. If it doesn't improve, blindvoters promoting this spam - even the most longtime and "upstanding" members - will start getting their names posted. If shame doesn't work, maybe burying their submits will. Might make them change tactics.
It may sound f*cked up. But, Digg has an algo to counteract this. Mixx does not. It's straight up voting. - inactive, on 07/23/2008, -1/+10Mixx is doing an "ok" job of combating these problems. I think that the Super Mixxer title helps to give people abilities that actually care about the site to help clean up these problems. Ultimately though, when a site gets this big it's going to have spammers (w/ variations). Any creator / owner / investor of a large site would be a total ***** not to admit part of their success was due to spammers - spam breeds success by creating volume, content and activity. It may be sick and twisted but even Digg would not be the site it is today without some spam, blind voting and more. $200 million is a good cash out on a victory that was grown through 5% -20% spammers. :P
- SilentJay74, on 07/23/2008, -0/+7OK guys, let's get something straight here. This is not a bury brigade type scenario. This thread is actually a staging point for Super Mixxers to post any possible threats. These threats are then reported by us and then the good people at Mixx decide how to deal with them.
I really do not want anyone thinking that this is a Bury Brigade thread in any way. This is just a thread for us Super Mixxers to clean house. - spleeyah, on 07/23/2008, -0/+6dugg for forum poster's avatar.
http://mixxingbowl.com/forums/index.php?action=dla ... - inactive, on 07/23/2008, -2/+7Thank God, It's not me either :). I like mixx, but digg is my first love and mixx is second. Mixx will definitely see explosion in user base and traffic in a 6-9 months time frame, because their model has few things which digg lacks. Plus they are picking up disgruntled, banned diggers like reddit is (although reddit and mixx don't have any comparison at all), they (mixx.com) have a bright future ahead of them........ So watch out super mixxers heh, here i come :P.
- Tomboys, on 07/23/2008, -0/+3So I actually ended up reading the whole thing. The picture on page 6 was my favorite part.
Also this part: "Suspect anyone of clogging (submitting tons of ***** in a short window.)" I didn't know there was a name for it but it's called clogging and it's driving me crazy cause so many people seem to be doing that now on digg and it's kinda obnoxious. - inactive, on 07/23/2008, -0/+2LOL Thanks Edie!
- SilentJay74, on 07/23/2008, -1/+3We'll be waiting Prime :P
- stevehnsn, on 07/29/2008, -0/+1I enjoy Mixx, but it is not yet worthy of Digg status. I do enjoy the ability to post to certain groups and to share my submissions with ALL of my friends at once. (or maybe there's a limit and I just don't have enough friends yet =)
- loupdargent, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1There are quite a few submissions about Mixx on Digg...
One of the latest ones is here:
http://digg.com/television/ABC_News_profiles_Mixx_ ... - theexitwound, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1How have I never heard of Mixx?
- u8muhrice, on 07/23/2008, -0/+0never heard of mixx.com til now. Seems like digg and mixx share the same problems too.
- inactive, on 07/23/2008, -7/+4Mixx.com = Lame name.
At least Digg.com makes sense.

What is Digg?
Check out the new & improved
