- shahruz84, on 12/17/2008, -1/+10the w960 is giong to be the best phone from SE this year. total iPhone killer. and yeah, i know everyones said it before about other phones, but if the right carriers pick it up in the US, the w960 is a much better all around phone.

you're last. - z0zin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Why bother tempting us Americans with any Sony Ericsson phone. We only have two choices if we want to buy one, purchase an unlocked one for a few hundred dollars or wait almost a year before any cell service in the States starts carrying it.
- bhattsan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7congratulations, now go to bed its getting late.
- MrKas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Awesome, I read somewhere that the W960 is only a few weeks behind the K850, so I'm glad to see the K850 has been released... I've been hanging for the W960 for months. Wifi, touch screen, handwriting recognition, 8GB, FM radio, 3.2MP autofocus camera, bluetooth stereo...
- javip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3he has an iPhone and is trying to justify his purchase..
- smoothlou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I've had my W600i for coming up on two years now, and while it was fairly dope when it came out, is a freaking BEHEMOTH of a phone now. I'm dying to get my grubby paws all over either/both of these phones to see if they are worth paying a premium for.
Sadly though, I will likely have to stick with AT&T if I want these, won't I? :-( - bury, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What was disappointing? Do you have a link to the review? I have my eye on the K850i, but if it's lacking, I was also considering a Nokia N95.
- xevidentx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Please i hope this comes out in the US! I have the Sony Ericsson S710A for 3 years. I hate sony for all their products, except for their TV's and phones!
- Kazbaeden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3How many little icons at the bottom of an article does a blog really need? I think 20 is really pushing it.
- bury, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It doesn't use GSM 850, so the only carrier I see getting this would be T-mobile.
- aacidusX, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5the w910's 3G wont work in the Americas. the K850 however is triband wcdma and quadband gsm
- Kazbaeden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Depending on your area you can also get by with GSM 900 on AT&T. I used a 900 phone for a while without any problems, but it's very location dependent. If you travel a lot though, or move, you'll probably have trouble.
- 3leggedHorse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3 @ eatspie how can you say that I have got the k800 and it kicks ass 3G so I can watch T.V in my lunch break, the camera kicks ass and it's half price of a iphone. These new ones have HSDPA iphone has not even got 3G, just a nice apple logo and a mini version of OSX.
- HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_k850-review- ...
It's not that it's a bad phone. It just seems like SW-wise and UI-wise there are still a lot of things that don't seem settled out. Also, the video recording is a complete joke. A few more months would fix this stuff.
Also, the camera is not as impressive as the W810i or K800i's cameras were. Those two really set the standard, and the K850i one fails to advance the state of the art because the lens is just not big enough to allow any better performance.
It's better than the K800, if only because it doesn't have that big-ass bump on the back. But it sounds to me like it doesn't advance things as much as I expected. - cave, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Meanwhile the iPod killer hasn't been made yet. I think history will repeat itself, and Apple will kill the iPhone themselves when they introduce the iPhone 2nd gen. Here's a prediction that I have for a hardware change:
- Same resolution, but much smaller form factor, about the size of an LG Prada. To achieve this they'd need an even higher pixel density screen, like the new Nanos with video have.
Software improvements can be brought over to the old iPhones easily, if not by Apple then surely by 3rd parties. Personally I think they should treat it like a computer, and sell an iPhone OS sepparately from the iPhone. But they obviously don't want to acknowledge the iPhone as a computing platform, with the lack of 3rd party apps and all.
Anyways... WTF am I rambling about, this is a Digg about Sony Ericsson, dammit. - Grolsch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I bought K790 and its best phone I had. If only we could get W910/K850 with AT&T or T-Mobile...
- magic6435, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Why cant apple and the other companys follow SE they have been making th best phone for years! i still have my p900 and p800.
- agentsandoval, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2If only they would come with a standard audio connector. I am fed up with having to use their fat adapter.
- AlanJV, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I seriously WANT that k850.
- rainfever, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I second the K850 on T-mobile motion.
I have the K750i and aside from some MAJOR hardware flaws, it is an awesome phone. Oh, what were those flaws you say? the joystick dies after about a year and the phone effectively becomes useless. Pretty much the same deal with the camera button, it is a crapshoot as to whether or not i'll get the picture upon pressing the shutter button.
still i'm looking to buy the K850...no joystick, yeay! :) - withoutasol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1bluetooth stereo headset, no wires!
- rainfever, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/11/sony-ericsson-g ...
hmmmk? - tuxerware, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They do come with a standard audio connector, the headphones are divided into two parts. And the connector between them is a 3,5mm jack.
- VanD, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I'm happy with my w580i
- mkgm1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ordered my k850i yesterday. This is one of the few occasions we get something in Europe before you Americans. ^_^
- rainfever, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just out of curiosity, how much did it cost?
- HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Yeah. I'm all over the K850. I read a review already and it truly seems a bit disappointing, but I already have another phone purchase planned for mid next year, so I think I'll take the K850 now instead of waiting for the K860.
- kelowna4life, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1***** i just got a k790a (the 3.2 MP cam) for 3 months and i feel the need to upgrade to 5MP's....k790a for sale cheap hahah
- DeeJayZone, on 10/13/2007, -0/+0Want to know something...!?
SE K850 is my next phone. :) - sleze, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I've kinda had it with Sony-Ericsson's phones. They advertise amazing coming-soon phones that seemingly never arrive in the US or they come out with decent phones that only work with either T-Mobile OR AT&T. The few phones that ARE quad-band are almost never as feature packed as their tri-band models.
I am now a proud owner of an HTC 8525 and couldn't be happier. - DeusMachina, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, but then the battery life goes to hell.
- JAVOedge, on 10/15/2007, -0/+0K850 unboxed!!
http://www.javoedgeblog.com/2007/10/15/sony-ericss ... - KateWilliams191, on 10/18/2007, -0/+0Wow! Its is really amazing to hear that sony ericssion dreamteam have just announced the official release of two of its new mobile phones.http://www.reviewbooth.com/2007/09/18/sony-ericsso ...
- crlake, on 10/16/2007, -0/+0crib? Is that the new word for; cry, whine, bitch, complain, won't shut-up about? Or are you just saying it wrong? Because crib, means house, home, domicle, place I rest my head -- crib (as in baby's crib)
- markperia, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3douche-fag
- nodeax, on 10/16/2007, -4/+3Why do people crib when they have to shell out money and buy a phone? If Comcast starts offering free TV sets (say 20 inch CRT) when you sign up for cable, will you sit cribbing that you got a 20inch TV or will buy the hardware you like?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Ridiculous comment.
- Scotty87, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1my brother has the top one, had it for a while.... Interesting.
Canada... - inactive, on 10/16/2007, -10/+0They don't match up to the iPhone...
