- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3> life is not fair.
...but it should be? It's you're job to make it that way; so, I advise you to become a lawyer (specializing in anti-trust law).
> The world won't care about your self-esteme.
But you better have some if you expect to deal with the world.
> You will not make $40k right out of highschool.
Unless you daddy has set up a nice large trust fund for you.
> If you think your teacher is tough, wait until you get a boss.
Almost every teacher I've ever had has been tougher than every boss I've had. After all, those bastards who produced a "B " student, but my boss is the dumb motherfscker that hires "C-" monkies because they're cheap.
> Flipping burgers = opportunity...
...to earn minimum wage. Oh yeah, that's opportunity alright... maybe someday, if you work very hard, you'll become manager of the drive-thru.
> If you mess up, it's not your parents fault
No, I'm pretty sure they had *something* to do with it.
> Before you were born, you're parents weren't as boring as they are now.
Yes they were; they had me so that they would have something in common to talk about... that's why they got divorced before I could walk. Still, it's not as bad as my half-brother and half-sister who were conceived during a second marrage to 1) hold the mariage together and 2) so that dad#2 would have a genetic male decendant. This also ended in divorce. All of my "parents" are failures, so I suggest you shut the hell up (let me guess, you're a parent) about how they paid all my bill and what not, because they didn't.
> you school may have done away with winners and losers, but life has not.
Fscking A! I went to school during a time when they told you every semester *EXACTLY* where you stood, down the the last percentile, among your 3000 peers every. Large numbers lie. One thing I've discovered is that, yes, there are winners and losers, but among the winners there are more cheaters than skillful, intelligent, talented winners... lossers, well, they just tend to be honest folks who aren't intersted in cheating to become a "winner". And that's not just sour grapes; that fact has been in the daily news every single day of my life. So, go ahead and call me a loser if it makes you feel like a winner.
> Life is not divided into terms.
But if your company has a bad quarter, you could be fired. The market place is cyclical. Boom-bust. A rising tide floats all boats. Humm... I get the feeling I'm being lied to again.
> Television is not real life.
Except for the comericals... please watch those and believe them; they always will return to your favorite Reality Television(tm) show. Your Fired(tm)! - benmay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wow - Great come Back!
