- fr0ng, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21thats sofa king cool
- wozley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Very nice! Who needs DirectTV? I can watch people drinking diet coke and mentos, 24/7 . . . from my couch!
- Lazybones, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Actually they look better from afar than they do at up close. The further you are the harder it is to make out the blocky pixels.
It is just they don't look good blown up and high res large TV. - bilton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Thanks Xbox Media Centre for making this available a long time ago
- noamsml, on 10/12/2007, -7/+13Cool idea, but many of YouTube's low-res videos simply don't look that good from afar.
- h2d2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The only problem I have with this is that I don't have a game consule...
- NinjaBoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Sweet timing for wii getting a browser.
- kernelhappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Too bad Micrsosoft won't work out terms for XBMC to be legally distributed and installed as signed code. It already has YouTube scripts (and possibly revver).
- brian1001001, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Especially if it was a series of sofa launching tubes
- MartyMcFly713, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Uhh...this is pretty much for browsing with the Wii.
- NinjaBoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If you have had enough to drink....Yes
- Haroldx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The youtube script is amazing :)
XBMC itself is amazing aswell. - RADicalSatDude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I just use the zoom on Opera to fill out the whole screen, "230%" for 21" monitors :)
- gravylookout, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I wrote this reply from my Wii!
- mrlost117, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3fast, cool interactivity, BIG for a TV... I like it
- webtickle, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6for more information on sofaTube check out http://mashable.com/2006/12/21/sofatube-launches-put-youtube-in-your-living-room/
- Zoomrix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Is it just me, or is there NO way to go full screen from SofaTube? That seems to be the essential feature for a service like this, won't you say?
- Keddren, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Am I the only one that misread that headline and was disappointed?
Sofa Launching Tubes would have been awesome... - Keon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I found SofaTube to be quite buggy and unusable on my Wii's Opera browser. On the other hand, plain old YouTube seems to be just as easy to use as it is on my PC.
- loudestnoise, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ya, some of the video seems to be more choppy than on the regular youtube site
- Slugo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Man...sofas are going to really clog up the tubes ...how am i going to get my Internets now?
- marnaq, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Does youtube really offer a full night's entertainment?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Never heard of sofa tube
- macewan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I love it - nice work developers.
- loudestnoise, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is freaking awesome for the Wii!
- Mistoffelees, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is just what I needed.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1 Heck ya XBMC is the greatest !! It really is amazing what that ol xbox 1 can really do, I only view You Tube and Google vids this way, without all the overhead and amazing stream quality this is the best kept secret that Microsoft really should push in the 360.. I dont have a 360 but If Xbox 1 can run XBMC so nicely I can only imagine what the 360 could do in the future , and that is if they havent done it already.. This softtube junk looks worthless
- Goosemaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1interesting
- 8bit_Hero, on 10/12/2007, -8/+9SofaTube? they already have a conduit for YouTube on a TV, it's called the Nintendo Wii
- interiot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1h2d2: It works even better with a Gyration mouse on a PC hooked up to your HDTV.
This is great... Pointing devices that you hold up in the air are inevitably going to be a little less precise than desktop mice (since your arm wobbles a bit, and it's hard to see as high of resolution when sitting back on your couch), so it's good to see at least one site that supports couch surfing, especially of multimedia content. Now can we have something like this for internet radio and such? - stuartjmoore, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4SD TVs are pretty low res too, so it works out nice. 320x240 doesn't look any worse than broadcast (of course my TV is pretty old)
- Chairboy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Sounds like a handy interface to use while browsing the Youtubes from a Wii, which is nice timing considering the official browser availability today.
- Ugoff, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1YouTube + Wii Opera browser = SofaTube
- mydave, on 07/28/2008, -0/+0Cool. I really need this!

- angelo1x1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I´ve installed Wii Media Center - it works only with the photos so far...It looks gut anyway and I hope I shall be able to watch the movies es well.
- dsimms6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hey, you have a great blog here! I'm definitely going to bookmark you!
I have a place for you to check out http://www.moogletech.com site. It pretty much covers the related stuff.
Come and check it out if you get time :-) - jwalk81980, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1very useful site. viewing it from my wii right now. i got my wiimote in one hand and ben & jerry's in the other. isn't america great?
- wozley, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4A "consule" is a typo for the word "console" that usual grammar-dicks pick up on with re-used sarcasm.
- Tsutsu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Isn't the resolution comparable with VHS?
- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4The site is nearly unusable on a Wii, the fonts are way too small on a SDTV
- witte, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3320x480 12fps pixelated flash clips are so fun. somebody should give youtube a billion dollars
- navarroj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Didn't quite worked here. Also didn't find the interface very usable.
- johnhummel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Hm - I did this with my Wii this morning on the regular Youtube site, but I'll be curious to see if this interface is any better. Might have to try it when I get home.
- cyclic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Will it shoot a million sofas per minute?
- TwistedHope, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2"directly on PCs and some game consules, "
What's a "consule"? - vanman, on 10/12/2007, -7/+0Yow! Don't forget about the verbdate.com hotties and their vids! Can't wait to see some video grrrrreatings!
