- MacBookForMe, on 11/11/2009, -1/+14Never trust the Communist Party!
- seshomarusamma, on 11/12/2009, -1/+11I think that the worst thing about the GFW is that it prevents Chinese people from associating with the rest of the world.
Everybody is on facebook, only the Chinese have to do with kaixin.com . People view and comment about youtube videos ,only the Chinese are left out. Tweeter, Picasa, Wordpress, Blogspot -all those international meeting places are not open to the Chinese.
In a way the GFW prevents the Chinese from participating in the international aspect of the internet. Instead they get a second hand clone of it - baidu, youku, sina that is limited to mainland China.
Sad really.
I'm sure this is not what the government intend on, they just haven't given enough thought to the long term effects of the GFW - tootim, on 11/12/2009, -0/+9Interesting. I have a friend over there and she wants me to burn her a DVD of some porn and random internet rubbish. I guess you can only go so long without. Its like junkfood, try living without processed American food for a few months or any American food for that matter.
- Pinkertinkle, on 11/12/2009, -0/+8I cannot live without internet pr0n
- fallark, on 11/12/2009, -0/+8I'm pretty sure that's exactly what the government intends. "The largest intranet in the world".
baidu, youku, kaixin or xiaonei/renren. They are not "second hand clones". They are good sites, but under censorship and surveillance.
It's become harder and harder to beat the GFW recently, although it's still pretty doable. After all, you don't need to silence everyone. Just make it a bit difficult and most people wouldn't bother, and keep an eye on the troublesome ones. Sadly, a large proportion of our next generation seem to be too fascinated by online games and emo style (yeah, it's big in China too) to have some interest in politics in the first place. - Pinkertinkle, on 11/12/2009, -0/+7like girl on girl stuff?
- Frogger4Truth, on 11/12/2009, -8/+10china is an independent nation. they can run their internet the way they want.
this "one World Government" crap needs to end. Respect nations rights! - PandaBearShenyu, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2Oh, but internet warriors will insist that they will.
- eRaptor, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2What a great idea. Bust 'em wide open with the WTO.
- tootim, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2Hehe, yeah, I realized that might attract attention.
She is the rare female that does seem to enjoy porn. She likes some sick ***** too, like gore and stuff. I recall her referring me to this site called goregasm or something that is gore and porn.
Also she looks pretty normal and hot, not a freakish goth or fat chick type at all. - PandaBearShenyu, on 11/12/2009, -2/+2If Americans spent half the time they do bitching about China working, they wouldn't be in a recession.
But maybe that's what the Chinese want?!?! O_o Either that or everyone are being trolled by 1/4 of the world's population for the lulz. - taibo, on 11/12/2009, -6/+5Criticizing China on censorship is like criticizing your landlord on how he's raising his kids. Sure, maybe he's a crappy father, but you sure aren't going to say that to his face.
- findlebitr, on 11/12/2009, -3/+0We mustn't trust them all!
- inactive, on 11/12/2009, -6/+0communism couldn't be all that bad
