- Ventuvo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Will be interesting to see how it compares to http://www.tickspot.com/ , http://getharvest.com/ and http://clockingit.com/ .
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7TPS Reports!!! Gets my digg...
- bertram, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7or, you an just link right to the site mentioned, instead of tech crunch?
http://slimtimer.com/ - frunny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I like it - the most time tracking systems are to complicated - SlimTimer is not - very nice
- rrwhite, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Ouch that hurts! Its a very niche application, probably not suitable for front page Digg'age. But for people who, like me, get paid by the minute and do a lot of context switching throughout the day I think it's invaluable.
And its FREE! Isn't there some rule that anything that's free is automatically not lame... then again that might just apply to free food (from strangers) :) - rrwhite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The author, Marshall, from TechCrunch was in the private beta for SlimTimer.
- chrisWhite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It's not spam, it got picked up by Techcrunch which is very reputable. Odds are that Techcrunch got to see a preview, a beta or something of the sort, got a tip about it or happened to know the author. Like he says in the privacy policy FAQ, its got his name on it, not some company, his personal rep is at stake so I doubt he's spamming. Webtech doesn't seem to be the spammer type either...
- goggleBOX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Very nice little application. I like that it is online so I can access it where/when ever I need too yet once loaded works perfectly fine offline and seems to sync back up with a simple click of the refresh button when you are back online. Lets you change times in the management screen and the tagging is simple and fast. I changed the link so it doesn't open a separate window and I am planning on using it just in it's own tab in firefox. Now if only it was a tray app.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4And this will help me cook perfect boiled/pouched eggs every time?
- sproutworks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I might try using this for some projects. I wish the reports would let me see the times in hours:minutes instead of fractional hours.
It would also be nice to be able to run the timer in a Yahoo Widget. - rrwhite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Shoot me an email rrwhite _ AT _ gmail.com (like that reall protects me from spammers) and let me know what the error is that you are getting. I would appreciate it.
- Stitch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3A simple way to keep track of the time you take for web-based tasks...
- fletchowns, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9Reported as spam. Stop linking to ***** blogs and just link TO THE GOD DAMN SITE.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6This is the lamest thing to ever make the digg front page.
From the site: No more need for multiple time-tracking applications.
No more confusing and expensive timesheet software.
Yeah! Just open your browser, go to a certain page, click a few links, open a new window, and configure your timer! As simple as 1-2-3-4-5-6! - rrwhite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Appreciate you going onto every comment thread about SlimTimer and spamming your own work.
- jennallen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This isn't spam - most of us have tested it.
- rrwhite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Don't forget 14Dayz :)
- zoombusa, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I agree what is the deal with these jokers talking about new software then linking to their blogs? Change your damn titles to a review of new XYZ software.
Marked this as spam and dugg the first one submitted: http://digg.com/software/SlimTimer_-_Keeps_Track_of_Time_on_Tasks - ellimist, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Might be useful... if you like leaving browsers open...
- gh02t, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Haha, the picture says "Working for the MAN"
Digg for the reference. - rrwhite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's a really good idea. I'll try and come up with a simple way to switch between decimal and hh:mm display on the reporting. That shouldn't be too hard.
I'm also going to put out an API (probably about 3 weeks down the line at least though) so hopefully other industrious people can write various desktop/browser plugins. - dtnyc383, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1Slim timer looks good...but how does it stack up against TSheets.com's Time Tracking Software?
http://www.tsheets.com/ - rrwhite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually I'm told it works in Bubbles (http://www.3d3r.com/bubbles/) so that might be an option until an API and a proper desktop client is built. Let me know how it goes.
- samea76, on 05/11/2009, -0/+0Is this a free product? We're using http://xpunch.com for time tracking and timesheets.
- edgarneo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0don't be mean. but there ar other devices or tools more suitable for time trackin' purposes than this 1.
check: http://www.google.com/search?hl=nl&newwindow=1&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=time+tracking+service&spell=1
or everything 2.0 list from bob stumpel: http://bobstumpel.typepad.com/everything_20/ - stormmind, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Personally, I use Timesheet v1.2.3 on my Palm. It is as simple as anything can be and has all the features I need (hey, graphs are cool). It's free as well =)
http://www.jsankey.com/software/timesheet/timesheet.htm - longzero, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I much prefer time tracker. It has no pop up and much more intuitive interface.
http://www.formassembly.com/time-tracker/ - madmac625, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0I tried it, it gives me an error in Firefox when I try to add a timer..
- dmoney06, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2How is this useful? Marked as lame.
- geekuskhan, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0Launched this morning? How did anyone hear about it already then? Definately spam.
- Spatulas, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Oops, dupe.
- wutkapook, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0good!
- jeffness, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0MARKED AS SPAM!
- Spatulas, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Yeah, don't let this becaome the new Slashdot ;)
