- Ragnaroeker, on 08/01/2009, -0/+0I forwarded this to my state senator in North Carolina because it appears you cannot contact a Senator from another state of the government website. I included a summary of my personal experience over the last twenty years with Cell Phone carriers as it relates to the hardware accessories such as USB cables, car chargers, etc. I commented on the design changes the carriers have made (or whomever is the decision maker for this little proprietary trick) in their own branded phones to prevent interoperability. I also think it should be brought to everyone's attention, as if you couldn't notice, WalMart is covered up with Ipod and Iphone generic, less expensive accessories for these items, but if you are like one of us who doesn't have an "I" product, skip looking at WalMart. I also notice that the ratio of Web applications and Web services is so slanted toward the I Phone that if I wasn't so stubborn I would probably just cave in and get one. But I have decided if it comes to that, I am going to make a drastic move. I am going back to a life without a cellular phone. My Palm 5 still works and thru one heck of a programming and hardware modding challenge, is up and running on Win 7 and XP64. My children can page me from their phones, which they will keep for safely reasons.
