- scallon, on 11/19/2007, -2/+133Or Digg could just fix it's search feature so I don't have to go to another website to find the content I want on this one.
- EasY_TargeT, on 11/19/2007, -2/+98hows this different from "site:digg.com" "enter search terms"
- lkv87, on 11/19/2007, -2/+76your kidding right ?
diggs serach is basically useless. - xGrill, on 11/19/2007, -0/+63I usually just type in site:digg.com keywords here
- luet, on 11/19/2007, -3/+46Haha wow
the entire thing is
site:digg.com - UtahApocalyse, on 11/19/2007, -2/+34You called?
- Terc, on 11/19/2007, -1/+29Searching a website with Google? Brilliant!
- VargVikernes, on 11/19/2007, -1/+15It's pathetic that a site advocating new technology has the worst search function I've ever seen. It's so bad that it can't even sort properly. I.e. if you sort by most diggs, the first result will have 1000 diggs while the second will have 2000 or something like that. Kevin Rose give up programming or fire the person responsible for this travesty you call 'search' and hire someone who can do it. While you're at it, why not try to make the site that won't crash or lock my browser when I open a page?
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -1/+15so you are making money via this google search ads on digg search?
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -2/+14Doogle.
- kaeda, on 11/19/2007, -9/+21aye, very useful. But can ye search the seven seas with it, matey? Now that's a tool I need...
- Jo9100, on 11/19/2007, -0/+12what we need is not something to search digg, but something to search dugg (stories you dugg). that would be darn useful
- Gambit89, on 11/19/2007, -0/+11Sort of offtopic: Has anyone noticed some of the past articles are missing some or all the comments? For example, these are from the top 365 days:

http://www.digg.com/apple/Safari_on_Windows_4
I filed a bug report, but I haven't had any response/feedback. Anyone else experiencing this? - Unr3a1, on 11/19/2007, -0/+9I thought everybody did it this way already. all you really need to enter when searching w/ google is "digg" + your query.
- amarketingman, on 11/19/2007, -0/+7of course he is, i can't believe no one has done this before.
- Trax91, on 11/19/2007, -1/+7Gigg.
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -1/+7Because digg's own search is utter ***** maybe?
- speedygonzalez, on 11/19/2007, -0/+5^ exactly. just type in "whatever site:digg.com" works on any site...
- Zreitan, on 11/19/2007, -2/+6cause searching digg WITH digg..sucks right now
- CrazyForSW, on 11/19/2007, -3/+7*types nsfw* *hits enter*
Hmm... yeah, this search is better. - Netrilix, on 11/19/2007, -0/+4But maybe Digg is just fragments of Google with better packaging...
- koick, on 11/19/2007, -0/+4Um, you can, (sheesh, learn to use google people)!
site:digg.com/users/Jo9100/history search_term
e.g.:
http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Adigg.com%2Fu ... ... - m0laria, on 11/19/2007, -0/+4Everything comes from the Google.
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -0/+4This is no different from using the site: switches.. all this does is concatenate pre-defined parameters to the query you provide it. BURIED.
- honeymustardn, on 11/19/2007, -4/+7His kidding right.
- homeagain1, on 11/19/2007, -0/+3"site:digg.com" "enter search terms" returns results from profiles too, while this one only returns the articles so you don't have to wade through a ton of crap. It's better to use this one IMO.
- mojaam, on 11/19/2007, -0/+3Ironic you can't see "what's in it for me" when your name is WIIFM.
- waebi, on 11/19/2007, -0/+3YESS!!! APOCALYPSE NOW!!!11
- HollowMarkeD, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2This is the future of web search: Digg style user voting coupled with Google relevancy. You'll get similar good results with Google queries including site:del.ico.us, site:reddit etc
- jcronkhite, on 11/19/2007, -1/+3Digg's site search is extremely slow as well (at least for me). This is much better via Google until a better search option is available here.
- RandoTheKing, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2Thank god because Digg's search is HORRIBLE.
- Gambit89, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2Already done :) See:
http://www.digg.com/tech_news/Digg_Adds_Back_The_A ... - Yage2006, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2I have been using google to search digg for the last 2 years.
Did not think this was ever worth mentioning on digg though .
But ya the digg search is just plain awful. - BlaenkDenum, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2I just wrote an Open Search Plugin for this (The search things that are on the top right of FireFox 2 and IE7). This works with FireFox 2 and above as well as IE7 and above. It makes searching Digg easier, you can also just highlight text when the search plugin is selected, right click, then click 'Search Digg'. Let me know what you guys think: http://www.jorgepena.be/open-search/
- pcpimpster, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2Its not homeboy.
- Barleyman, on 11/19/2007, -3/+5this is a little easier to remember...
http://duggsearch.com/ - insllvn, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2All glory to the google. Wait, that's not right...
- qpn6ph9q, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2I thought this was just going to be a lame rehash of google advanced search tags; instead it's a great feature to encapsulate searches for reuse. Nice.
- brodie7838, on 11/19/2007, -1/+3I thought it was just me... Maybe not.
- hmunkey, on 11/19/2007, -3/+5You're*
- Deecon, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2I've noticed. Just figured there was a time limit on old comments.
- killerofkiller, on 11/19/2007, -1/+2adsense? not with the customize google plugin :)
- Ksg89, on 11/19/2007, -1/+2I've been using this for a while now. Instead of doing a normal search if its added to your personalised Google search, whenever you search for something it brings up 3 simple digg related posts.
- isewise, on 11/19/2007, -2/+3I think this is the best digg/google search mashup
http://digg.firoogle.com
You can add it to the firefox's search bar. - BlaenkDenum, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1No it's not, try search for the same term and you'll get different results.
- TechBharat, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1Someone wants to make money using Adsense for Search. You can even create one with the Google Co_Op. (www.google.com/coop/).
Can't believe diggers does not know about this. - astrojith, on 11/19/2007, -1/+2Not bad. But the URL is impossible to remember. How about doing getting a domain and doing some redirect ?
- lcmatt, on 11/19/2007, -1/+2I created one a while back but Digg broke it when they altered something, will try and get it working again.
- Chris4, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1It's the same as searching for "site:digg.com" in google followed by what you want to search, so nothing new or amazing.
http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3ADigg.com%20g ... - jcj7161, on 05/27/2009, -0/+0The engine is optimized to rank better stories as compared to a normal google search .
