"we need to stick together in this fight against bluesecurity and their unfair tactics."
"Let's work as a team destroying their business and protect our interests together!"
"this people are idiots"
It's incredible. They're going through the exact same kind of stuff that many people have to deal with everyday because of what they do, and they apparently don't like it. Boo hoo. - Werdock, on 10/12/2007, -2/+91Apart from the fact that in the prison they are going to have their outboxes raped:)
- ChanKaiShi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+78Here is link to printable version so you don't have to login. I just joined bluesecurity and advise you to do so as well
http://www.speakeasy.org/~lybrand/printable.htm - mecanabis, on 10/12/2007, -5/+62DIGG USERS: i propose we all join this forum and spam the crap out if it!!
give them a taste of their own medicine! - tranix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+52Just FYI, Blue Security's "Do Not Spam" registry was NOT hacked. The spammer created his incomplete list of Blue members by simply using addresses he already had in his spam database and DIFFing it with Blue's clean hash to arrive at a list of suspected Blue members.

So ppl plz, stop flameing spammers! They do a really good job filling up my spam box :) - vermin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+40I love how all this ddos'ing of bluesecurity is just giving them more publicity. I just downloaded the client. DIE SPAMMERS!!
- monolith, on 10/12/2007, -1/+34I like the sentiment... but I've got better things to do... like loading my saved spam (for my filters) to bluefrog so they can go after the frelling putas.
- kindrobot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+33So many of you complain about the spelling and grammar habits of digg users.
EVERY one of those posters makes the most horrible diggers look like Harvard
graduates. - sert, on 10/12/2007, -5/+32These people need to be tracked down and given life sentences. They rape our inboxes on a daily basis, I think they deserve the same.
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25Wow. A peek into the hive of scum and villainy.
- mapkinase, on 10/12/2007, -0/+241. They are idiots. On the page i have read nobody said anything smarter than "let us enter random addresses to the e-mail".
2. Hail BlueSecurity. - chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -8/+30I DON'T LIKE SPAM!
/montypython - DamionFury, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21I can't help but feel a sadistic sort of glee at the fact that their website isn't able to handle all the traffic being forwarded by Digg.com
- deut, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Yep, I agree. I'd never heard of BlueSecurity until now. I've just installed the Thunderbird extension and will be reporting SPAMs regularly.
- upsilonh24, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22To every Opera 9 users:
1. Go to their website.
2. Right Click
3. Select: Reload Every...
4. Select: 5 seconds
5. Laugh.
6. Go on vacation for 3 weeks.
7. Laugh. - ketsugi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Straight on. I'd never even heard of Blue Security until now. Good thing they have a Thunderbird extension.
- Vimes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19I enjoy the way some of them make comments like they're freedom fighters going against a ruthless government. "The war will begin tomorrow"... yeah...
- CoolWind, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Everybody join the battle and install the bluefrog client. You have nothing to lose. It's great to see these spammers squirm.
- Pile, on 10/12/2007, -5/+23Blue Security's anti-spam solution is pretty clever. They maintain a "do not spam" list. If someone spams the do-not-spam list, they activate bots on the client side to "visit the spammer's client's web site" (aka DoS the advertiser). It's an interesting approach, HOWEVER, I don't see how spammers can't taint the process like they did with Spamcop by including legitimate companies in spam to misdirect the DoS attack to companies that aren't actually clients.
It's a neat idea, but unfortunately, it has weaknesses and innocent companies will probably suffer.
The only real solution is for us to demand that the feds prosecute these scumbags. They routinely violate tons of laws when they spam, but the US Attorneys seem unwilling to go after these people. We need to put pressure on them to act. - zcreem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18These people obviously have the IQ of a gnat's gonads. For people that spend their time writing, crap granted, they appear to have very poor language skills, "this people suck" sic.
- EBFoxbat, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Gnats don't have gonads, it's a common misconception.
- john570, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19My God! These people are pieces of *****.
- yousifnet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18you've used up your 500 sending limit (it's an un-published limit by the way). Don't panic. You can still receive emails.
- phpirate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Also, don't be afraid to engage in some "marketing" of your own in that topic ;)
- jbenson2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17I registered at www.specialham.com (took quite a while to get through). After reading their email marketing forum messages, I realize that not only are these spammers running illegal operations, but they are reacting like the lowest form of life (even lower than the Mexican gang members in Los Angeles). Here is a typical comment:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
"I think its time we kicked it up another notch anyone know of any anti's real names. I will have a Private Investigator buddy of mine pull a full history on them including any spouses and ill make a whole website just like rosko if they can post personal info why cant we eh :)
time to ***** with these people where they live. I just need their name and a general location of them. and Ill get everything I could ever want on them. How about we post pictures of anti's children and family and list their addresses? Hah, that would be pretty humorous."

Wackos!
Let's use Blue Security and fight back.
. - yokat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18I downloaded the client too, and reported over 300 spams... Taste your own medicine spammers!
- Razerious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Thanks, spammers! You've made me aware of Blue Frog! Now I've installed the client :)
- gcnaddict, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20thanks for that. +digg
now to spam the hell out of that forum. - smenkhare, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16I've just registered
user: abc
pass: abc
note that you don't need to give any real details to register - you don't need email confirmation. I used an email address abc.def@hij.klm.nop for registration. Suffice to say this is NOT my email address... - ChrisGranger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Sending 1:1 ratio opt-out requests for each spam received by a Blue Frog user is 'abuse'? I don't think so.
- headzoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15What's great is my spam filter will continue to work like a charm, and send all their "attacks" to the trash. Meanwhile their "sponsors" will continue to get pounded by Blue Security and it's users. Hmm, wonder who will win this "war"?
- CaffeinatedGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15mporcheron – For the end user the problem may seem like it’s just an annoyance but as a sys admin the problem becomes money. I have to pay for additional bandwidth. I have to have additional storage space available. I have to have processing power to process incoming e-mail. Since my end users are annoyed by spam I also have to install spam gateways, which is more hardware and time that I have to expend. Spam is way more that a nuisance once you leave the end user realm. And if you believe that companies pass on expenses to their customers (and they do) then the cost of all the things above are yours.
- Tarmas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Most of the spam is coming from the US.
http://www.ciphertrust.com/resources/statistics/spam_sources.php - AETAaAS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Its not spam that I'm worried about. Its not the fact that spammers can circumvent many filters. Its not even the fact that the spammers have their own message board that worries me.
What DOES concern me is that they seem to be organised and collected... and theyre picking up momentum as we spea.. uh... digg... - disgruntled, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14because gmails "Report SPAM" doesnt work.
- hfiske, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Hi,
Validation emails for new members aren't being sent out yet but they should hopefully be from later on today, for updates on the current status of the whole Blue Frog service check out this page -

Go Diggers! - curunculus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Behold the mind and mentality of a spammer in all its glory.
I hadn't heard about BlueSecurity until these recent events. Any service that pisses off spammers to this extent deserves my support. I just signed up ...
Give spammers a taste of their own medicine? I'm lovin' it ...
PS: The spammers didnt hack BlueSecurity's email db. They cant, its hashed. If the spammers *already* have your email address in their lists they can check to see if you are in BlueSecuritys db ... nothing more. - jimbouk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14most is from the USA.

It's a matter of time ;) - CaffeinatedGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13On the subject of legitimate e-mail getting blue security attacks.
Assuming that BS (horrible initials) does what they say:
1) They look for a legitimate opt-out. A legitimate mailer will have one.
2) They contact the sender BEFORE an attack. Legitimate mailers will take care of the problem at this time.
3) Assuming there is not an opt-out BS asks the mailer to remove BS secured addresses. A smart spammer will list wash and get rid of the complainers at this time. Stupid spammers like this bunch will insist on sending to people who obviously will not buy.
I would be shocked to see a legitimate mailer like a bank get past #1. At #2 things should be worked out. - deut, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13@voltron
If you are concerned about the automatic features of BlueFrog, it's quite simple to rectify...
1) Sign in as usual
2) Select "My Protected emails"
3) Remove your email addresses from the "Protected Emails" list
4) Install their Thunderbird extension. (You are using Thunderbird right???)
5) When you receive SPAM, right click on the message and select Mark->As Junk
6) When you have enough SPAMs marked, hit the BlueFrog toolbar button
7) Send the email to Blue Security.
It's as simple as that !
They will only act on what YOU decide to report - dagnabit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13They have moved their website to a server at Oslo University College:
# ping www.specialham.com
PING www.specialham.com (128.39.73.57) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from pc57-73.vlab.iu.hio.no (128.39.73.57): icmp_seq=1 ttl=36 time=205 ms
64 bytes from pc57-73.vlab.iu.hio.no (128.39.73.57): icmp_seq=2 ttl=36 time=210 ms
# host 128.39.73.57
57.73.39.128.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer pc57-73.vlab.iu.hio.no.
I sent an email to the abuse@ address at the university; hopefully someone can pull the plug on them shortly. - Golumbus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Voltron posted utter crap, read up on bluefrog at the bluesecurity site, they manually scan every site before starting opt-out requests. A legit site won't get hurt , unless they're spamming.
- Schpariel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12For everyone who got bored from bashing their site :
http://www.spamsites.org/live_sites.html
A list of spam-promoting/email-marketing sites....
Blow them up, digg army
EDIT: What are they up to?... The resolved IP of their server (SpecialHam) has changed, in Zjm's comment it was
24.11.231.235 and now it's something else :? - Dimensio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12"this should be completely legal in a free society"
Theft of service should be completely legal? Why is this? Spammers steal resources and result in the loss of billions of dollars pear year. Why should such activities be legal? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12why have only 4 people blogged this? ***** digging it. spread the word.
