- Pfhreak, on 10/10/2007, -2/+136I normally think that class-action lawsuits are *****, but this is one I hope succeeds.
- Cheesehead3557, on 10/10/2007, -0/+69*cue various "***** the RIAA" comments*
I hope this lawsuit wins - MeMongo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+64Usually the only winner in class action lawsuits are the lawyers, but in this case, maybe the RIAA's litigious actions would be stopped so they can focus on actually putting out substantive music instead of the cookie cutter, american idol crap that the terrestrial radio stations play.
- bobangitanov2, on 10/10/2007, -2/+44Stop buying CDs people. Stop it. now! Save your money for people that deserve it. Donate to artists directly if possible,
or go to live shows. - gamer31, on 10/10/2007, -2/+38***** THE RIAA!
- maus56, on 10/10/2007, -0/+36With a headline like this I had to digg it before I read it.
- prisoner24601, on 10/10/2007, -0/+36I don't care who wins as long as the RIAA loses.
- adml_shake, on 10/10/2007, -0/+27I think 2.5 billion sounds like a nice solid number to shoot for. And make sure they pay every ***** penny.
- Wildren, on 10/10/2007, -0/+26HAH! 60 Diggs under a minute! That shows what people think of the RIAA. ^_^
- Jargonaut06, on 10/10/2007, -0/+25I'd rather they left everyone alone.
- jerwong, on 10/10/2007, -0/+22It's about damn time.
- kyote, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18No worries, they just won't pay that bill either. Look how fast they are paying the woman who was supposed to get her attorney's bill paid.
- killdashnine, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17Remember what happened to SCO just recently? The RIAA is next.
- weebit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16*weebit sings!*

- houndeyex, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14EA? What's wrong with pumping out ***** games every 3 months?
- uncertain, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Because judges can be bought just like politicians.
- weebit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11This message is brought to you by the letters F and U, and the initials RIAA. :)
- jhshukla, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11put 'em behind the bars then.
- zbeast, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Finally a music industry lawsuit I can get behind. I expect this to win if for no other reason than the totally animosity the
RIAA has created from music fans. - capiCrimm, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10you should read up on the law more...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malicious_prosecution - Spacemanspif, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Dear RIAA: It has come to my attention that you may be suing me as a John Doe. However, instead of waiting for me to sue you for malicious prosecution, I am generously offering to let you settle "at a discounted rate" before those claims go to trial.
- Ghstfce, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Ok, as much as I hate quoting movies, I just have to quote 300 because it fits.
"Give them nothing... But take from them EVERYTHING!"
Everybody wave goodbye to the evil greedy corporation! - Matteos, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9That would be check.
- projectstartrek, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Congratulations! You are the 1 millionth RIAA-*****!
- mpn401, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8The RIAA is going to drown in litigation much like SCO will. What a bitch-slap.
- ElbridgeGerry, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8My only reaction upon reading the headline:
=D - h4mx0r, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10One step closer to checkmate?
- projectstartrek, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7You're saying they should sue themselves?
- abandonedhero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Snake!
- cloudyprison, on 10/10/2007, -5/+12I for one welcome our new Class Action Lawsuit leaders.
- uncertain, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Everyone needs to hound their local news outlets to give this wide coverage. Nothing works against these people like bad publicity.
- Heymoe, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8RIAA = RICO
- ronaldinho, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5RIAA deserved it
- uncertain, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Don't hold back. Tell us what you really think.
- BevansDesign, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Yea, what's wrong with Pixar?
- weebit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+538 minutes later 413 diggs
whoo hoo! - DangerMouse9, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6The same could be said about Madonna's cover of American Pie. Talk about something that makes you envy Helen Keller...
- mbthompson, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5More like endgame.
- MalDON, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Seriously, ***** Pixar? More like ***** SONY!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I think the class action suit's merits are that, even after the RIAA had conclusive proof of the innocence of Tanya Anderson (and presumably the other members of the class) they vigorously pursued the lawsuit , and after being found liable for attorney's fees they have ignored the court's order to pay. This would seem to fall in to the category of abuse of process at the very least.
- lowerlogic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4c&c3 redefined lag.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4*****' (ria)A!
- obviousfront, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I bought Dylan's "Street Legal" on vinyl. The vinyl scratched. Then I bought a copy on cassette. The tape wore out. Then I bought a copy on CD. The disc scratched. At what point can I get "another" copy of the music without forking over more money?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4That's how babies are made.
- s1mph0ny, on 10/10/2007, -4/+8Single mom Tanya Andersen... maintained her total innocence, a claim given even more plausibility by the fact that she was charged with downloading numerous gangsta rap tracks.
Please, only single moms and people too stupid to use the internet listen to gangsta rap. - actorboy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Nope, just one of the artists who relies on residuals to eat.
- disciple83, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4The problem I have with not buying CDs is that by using electronic delivery as a sole method of acquiring music, I am at a greater risk of being hassled by the RIAA. At least with a CD, I can have a hard copy of music, rip it in whatever format I feel in the mood to do, AND tell the RIAA to kiss off. And as far as giving my money to the artists and people that deserve it, most of the music I listen to is Christian rock, no name labels and a lot of independent stuff, with some cases I can almost bypass buying the CD and just take the band out for McDonald's or something.
