- Germanopinion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What is this amicus thingy all about?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amicus_curiae - Germanopinion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't understand English very well, and "lawyerese" even less, but as I understand in plain words I would translate to:
the RIAA does not want that the judge "officially" reads the letter that is written to him and that he does NOT have the content of that EFF letter in mind when he decides over the fees issue.
And of course as in nearly all letters from RIAA lawyers to judges I have read so far in this motion letter there are again numerous errors and false claims from the RIAA. The EFF for example has NEVER claimed that the RIAA and the record companies run AMOK!
That claim was made by the RIAA-lawyer Colin G. Martin from Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP
Disclaimer: IANAL and my "gerlish" might not make much sense; neither in german nor english - LiquidPenguin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1English, I understand.
C, I understand.
I even understand the 5 year old, my dog (but not my cat) and the drunk bastard on the corner.
But lawyerese is not one of my languages. Can someone explain what this means? In common every day English?
