Qtrax: Free LEGAL music service finally launched!!!

sadgeekblog.blogspot.com — Qtrax is the much anticipated ad-supported music store, which failed to launch the first time - they couldn't sign deals with the major labels. I JUST received the link to the new Qtrax Player (based on open source Songbird), and the annoucement that at last they added some music to the catalogue, most notably Radiohead.

  • neasteflorin, on 08/13/2008, -0/+2They said they are going to launch a Mac version at the end of the month. The problem right now is that the songs are using Windows Media DRM, not compatible with iPods or Macs as far as I know.

    Will it actually succeed? Doubtful.

    Would I like it to succeed? Sure... though it just seems that it would be simply going around the fight with the RIAA instead of winning.

    Edit: Nothing for macs? Sh*t.... not again.... so only for American Windows users... great.
