-President Jimmy Carter: Message to Congress, August 2, 1977 - karamba_kid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10This is just sick. Please somebody DOS these *****. Besides a picture doesn't prove that what they person was smoking was even an illegal substance.
- johndi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7What kind of sanctimonious ***** quotes himself?
- badfrog, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I'd hit that!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5It's true because how the hell are they planning on honestly saying "all these ***** were smoking weed" without actually being able to prove it was cannabis. I can't see it holding up in any court
- exili, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Could never be proved in court... but, what if an underage kid is in one of those pictures, could he sue for having his identity revealed?
- quadlix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3nice quote. gonna have to remember that one
- liquidjill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is embarrassing. I am sad to see police waisting their time with this crap and sadder to see the general populace being duped into participating in this witch hunt.
These people are not hurting anyone, this country is depressing. - theblackgecko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Link to pages:
http://www.colorado.edu/police/420_Photo_Album/index.htm - quadlix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the 5-0 updated the site. They're getting ID's coming in. I am curious what's going to happen to these people.
- starmanjones, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1seriously, after i think about this... if my picture showed up on that web site i think i might sue them for what ever legal thing... slander... damages... just because they are the police doesn't give them the right to just do this kind of thing. i'm thinking it could pay for college and grad school with the money that should be worth.
- starmanjones, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2i had the same thoughts. this seems very ill thought out. i think only in america today... under the influence of right-wing totalitarian mentality would this fly. there is nothing in that picture that identifies what she is smoking or even where she is at location wise. i might be temped to claim this guy with a camera walked up to me and handed this to me... i thought it was a cigarette. and sue for entrapment. this is just bad. very bad. i thought colorado had like a one ounce law or something.
- GunDog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Maybe a digg effect is in order...
http://chicago.craigslist.org/rnr/156326993.html - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Man, I feel like an old person saying this, but go easy the cops. They're doing their job. It's not like the university police have anything better to do.
And they're probably not really going to get anybody on anything but trespassing. I'd bet they really just wanted to stop this "revelry" from happening again, as opposed to wanting to stop people from smoking pot in general. The problem was the public nature of their pot smoking, I'm guessing. The police must have had some higher power push them to do this. It's not like they didn't know what was going on before.
I'm just impressed that all these students are brave enough to pull that off. I thought Austin was weird, but man, that wouldn't happen here at UT. - karamba_kid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah the pigs updated it, and posted a picture of a tiny little sign stating that the field was closed for no good reason so maybe trespassing is all they are going to be trying to get these people for.
- quadlix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Denver has a city legality for possession of 1 oz. or less, but that doesn't supercede Federal law. Does this mean that the Boulder PD is trying to get in good with the Feds? Questions abound!
- lisielou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is this legal? Can you arrest someone for doing drugs if you don't actually catch them in possession? Retroactively??
