- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13if you people used firefox we wouldn't have to hear the complaining..
- kiantech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The loc8tor is what I have always wanted
- Everman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Why do you need a gadget like that (in the article) to backup a phone with bluetooth? It should be easy to sync it with your pc, and yet I don't know any easy way to do it. :(
- stou, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Yes it is, except for the audio-book that costs $36.
- user, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Pretty cool stuff, especially that flashlight one!
But WTF is up with that mini-audiobook/player. $35?? That's rigotdamndiculous! You can get a membership at audible with 2 credits (2 books) a month for around $20--assuming you want go to THAT route. - shoover, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5And who doesn't need a laser guided miter saw?
I was kind of hoping for something a little more techie, but definitely some useful stuff there. - TylerDurden0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, that was pretty sweet but that ***** router was hella 'spensive.
- TylerDurden0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wow, nice job there. Phone tools has been available for about 2 years.
- antisthenex, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Woah...this list is actually really good.
- veloscaper, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@squarehappy, Audible has bookmarks to and most players support fast forward too.
- aznboi04k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i think the linksys router with the cell phone broadband is the worst one. using cell phone service as broadband is ridicously expensive and it's designed for using on the go, not at home. a router is for home.
- TheWalkingDude, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4That little Stephen King Audio book looked cool - imagine a library of those.
Where's the Nintendo DS Lite?
Update Edit: $36? Yikes. - beanMosheen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2100 - 3" screws is pretty impressive. It's designed for light duty, not industrial, and is much easier on the arm.
- wileycount, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2motorola sells a program called "phone tools"
http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/Motosupport/source/AdvancedMobility_PhoneTools.asp
its actually fairly functional, can sync with outlook, palm desktop...maybe other PIMs...worth taking a look at I think. I became a superhero to my boss for finding it. - zaid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2that EV-DO router looked crazy...might need to move over to one of those providers if this net neutrality thing falls through.
- zcreem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The Bulb was a nice idea but at $10 a shot a little on the pay through the nose for early adopters.
- imtigger2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1cool site! thanks! I think the audiobook is WAY cool. It's definitely not there for the person with an iPod or other portable player already, but put these babies in an airport or at long-distance bus stations and BAM! you're making some caaaaaaaash-money on them. Great idea.
Hell... didn't we all laugh at the idea of the disposible camera? I mean who the hell would buy one for that much when you can get a roll of film for MUCH cheaper? Ha! Even with cheap digital cameras out there, disposible cameras are VERY popular and sales continue to grow year after year. - wileycount, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I'd just be scared of losing the handheld part...
brilliant gadget, getting it tomorrow...
just found:
Q - What if I lose my Handheld?
A - If you have a Panic Tag and it is set in Alert mode you can press the panic button. This will cause the Loc8tor Handheld to vibrate and set off an audio alarm to help you find it. One Panic Tag is supplied with each Loc8tor Plus and additional Tags are available separately. - silvercold88, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2you remind me of Dvorak....
- SohailKhanifar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0That cell phone amplifier is such crap for $400! Wow!
I just bought one from cellboosterstore.com for $250 with better coverage. Tells you a little about that list.
I don't think I'd ever buy an audio book for more than 15 dollars. - rcomegys, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I actually thought that was a pretty crappy list of gadgets. I didn't feel the slightest "hey, that's cool!" while browsing it. I'm slightly disappointed.
- dharm, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2ok i am gonna comment in order of gadgets
1) why pay 40$ when most new cellphones come with data cables and software to backup to computer already with them
if you have a gsm phone, you can save your contacts to your sim card aswell.
2)not a bad idea
3)why even get the 2$ flashlight when you can make a led flashlight DIY
4)525$??? a bit expensive is an understatement
5)interesting but there are already other gadgets that can do this, also evdo isnt that popular atm.
6)100 screws on one charge isnt that impressive
7)35$??? what if it breaks, then you lost yourself an audiobook, just use a mp3 player...
8)many gadgets for much cheaper can be used as mobilephone range extenders
9)seems pretty useful, maybe you can tag your children when you go out, just incase they are lost
10)ok... just buy some better gloves
11)i work for a contstruction company, and saws with lasers have existed for several years now
12)i wouldnt mind one, but probably crappy receptions - liuite, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0all i need is some phat fingers where it matters to protect my median nerve
- passplay, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I've been on the internet since Al Gore invented it and this is the first list I've seen that is actually good. props
- AmazingPaper, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Seventy dollars for an SD card reader; hurrah!
- zcreem, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1What Ads, are there Ads on these sites, FF Adblock.
- squarehappy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0That's less than the price of the average, unabridged audio book on CD or cassette. And they come with a lot more features, my favorite being adjustable speed of the narrator if you want to get through a book faster. They also support bookmarks and all the features one would expect out of an audio book on CD. What's the problem here?
- mastercheif, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2Wow, those are some of the most intrusive ads I have ever seen. ***** Verizon.
