www.ebaumsworldSUCKS.com - GopherGod, on 10/12/2007, -10/+129I can honestly say, this is one time where I think it is somewhat justified.
Who didn't watch this and think, "Idiots!" - crawfishsoul, on 10/12/2007, -2/+116Couldn't find the original posting but someone reposted this one, we'll see how long it stays on YT:

Skip to around :41 for the action. Can you say "ragdoll?" - detrate, on 10/12/2007, -6/+119@pseudojd
With skills like that, you should be buying lotto tickets. - nathanmock, on 10/12/2007, -5/+109http://www.aberrant.us/mirror/merrygoround
- bndocksnt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+98they act all concerned, but who is going to mimic this stunt? i mean, you'd need a motorcycle, a merrigoround, and two dumbass chicks! where are you going to find all of that? wait a minute...i own a motorcycle, and there's a park right down the street, and everybody knows dumbass chicks love guys with motorcycles and merrigorounds.
- dimplemonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+78Reminds me of a great redneck joke...
What is a redneck's famous last two words?
"Watch this..." - tommorris, on 10/12/2007, -1/+60This was on the local news (BBC South East Today). They went and talked to a guy from a children's charity who was fuming modern day preacher style about the evils of the people who hosted the video (safe in the ignorance that anyone can post anything on YouTube). They also spoke to some local parents who gave all the usual "this is the end of the world" opinions.
Just a bunch of stupid kids doing the things that kids have always done, now broadcast on the Internet. - Yorn, on 10/12/2007, -8/+64Don't blame you. It's a pretty sad state of affairs when authorities take down videos because they think kids are going to mimic the actions instead of learn a lesson from seeing what happens. IMHO, the thing I like best about having videos of stupid people doing stupid things is all the comments saying how stupid people are. If anything, kids won't mimic it for fear of being mocked on the Internet. That's a good thing.
- CharlesDarwin, on 10/12/2007, -8/+62You call that thing a motorcycle?
- darrin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+51Here in Tennessee it's a little different with, "Hey, hold my beer..."
- verifex, on 10/12/2007, -1/+47Looks like a whole team of negligent people eligible for the darwin awards.
- xcheats, on 10/12/2007, -1/+45http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kJt2-uN2KI
- consoneo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+41The first thing I thought when the video popped up was "Oh *****, the tire is right on the wheel... what if they get flung into the motorcycle?!??"
They got extremely lucky as it could have been a "Pet Cemetary" style accident very easily. - atticusfunk, on 10/12/2007, -11/+50Wouldn't mind seeing the video....
- Izikoo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+37"Inspector Mark Piper, of Crawley police, said: "This is an extremely dangerous practice and for the safety and welfare of all concerned we are urgently trying to contact and speak to the participants."
Gee, thanks dad!
Was there a crime commited here? It was stupid, but that doesn't seem to be illegal. (Yet.) It's not like these girls were forced against their will to participate, so what is there for the the police to do other than to feel big by crusading against internet videos showing possibly dangerous stunts. That's a big job to take on. - Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -8/+39That's not a motorcycle, that's a scooter. Big difference. Those girls would be halfway across the Atlantic if it were a real motorcycle.
- Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30Hopefully the authorities are trying to track them down for mandatory sterilization.
- Gregd, on 10/12/2007, -3/+28I saw the video and must say that if those girls weren't hurt, they were lucky. The depth of stupidity for some people..just boggles my mind.
- Giever, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26BOO crazy scooter man.
HOORAY BEER!! - Pattyo13, on 05/14/2009, -0/+24i disagree...
ever seen this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=D0AYuEtPKoM&search=face%20car - pseudojd, on 10/12/2007, -17/+41I knew Immediately what was going to happen in the video. what idiots.
- eaasness, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23The UK wants to ban it, but Vonage will want to use it in a commercial!
- t3hX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22Wasn't this done on the Simpsons, and it caused a huge problem when Bart and Milhouse decided to copy this after seeing it in a movie on TV?
- uncleLeo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22SIMPSONS DID IT!!!
- detrate, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23thanks :-P
- mfratt, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22Stupidity isn't a crime... I dont see the case they think they have.
- Yorn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19You don't have to die to be nominated for a Darwin award, but you do need to in order for Natural Selection to "work". For humans though, we do an awfully good job of screwing up the gene pool with government intervention in lieu of things like seat belt and motorcycle helmet laws.
- SmeRndmGy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17They want the footage removed? They want to keep videos of people doing stupid things that might hurt them off the internet? That is one of the main reasons people look at sites like youtube. I don't think anyone saw that video and thought "Cool, I want to try that!" If anything, it probably showed people what would happen if they did it and convinced them not to do it. Leave videos of idiots doing something stupid and hurting themselves. Other idiots will see it and will know not to try it themselves.
- juboodi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16lol. http://motorgoround.ytmnd.com/
- MonkeyOverlord, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16"Young girls?" I was expecting some punk teens hurting girls who were like... 4 years old to 8 years old (tops). Those girls looked like they were about the same age, or just a year or two younger. Sorry, no sympathy for them. They clearly were old enough to know what they were signing up for by agreeing to that...
- chad3405, on 10/12/2007, -7/+21@ridgelawrence
It's not a motorcycle, its a scooter. - theLEGENDisBACK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13It looked like those girls were hurt to me... They were flung out at a pretty high speed and they looked limp coming out.... that was just a stupid idea
- exsst, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15fu..ck...ing hell, did they die?.. that was bloody horrific.
- rawnnie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13@SnapETom: i got some bits of chips deep inside my keybaord because of you.
- SundayTrain, on 10/12/2007, -7/+17I have seen dumber things on the net that kids could emulate.
It does not make sense why the authorities are looking into this unless there was a lawsuit from the kids involved in this video... - Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Right, but then those idiots are going to grow up and breed! I'm all for the removal of obvious safety warnings and the suppression of cautionary videos and stories. Let the stupid kill themselves.
- bashar129, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Does it really matter if it was a motorcycle or a moped or scooter or an F1 car? All that matters was how fast it was going when they were thrown out and that is 20MPH. How fast the merrygoround was going after they were thrown off is irrelevant.
- KingAwesome, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12HOORAY PARENTING...
no wait... how'd it go...
HOORAY BEER!!! - collectivescott, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10In all fairness to the girls, the fault really lies with the guy on the scooter. It was stupid and dangerous in the first place, yes, but what kind of moron keeps running the throttle when the thing is already spinning so fast? It would have ended with a laugh if he hadn't spun them so fast.
- antoniojvr, on 10/12/2007, -11/+19http://www.ebaumsworld.com/2006/07/redneck-ride.html
Ebaum's stole.. I mean, posted it on their site as well. - NinjAlt, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14I hope they broadcast this video around the world and put at the bottom of it.
"The video soccer moms around the world dont want you to see"
See ladies, this is what happens when you're too busy drinking your martinis and forcing the local soccer coach to babysit your kids under the guise of practice to actually pay attention to the kids and teach them some common sense. This is what happens when people who shouldnt have been having kids go and have them.
Now, onto the police investigation. No offense but the police can just go stuff it. Why not investigate something a little closer to home. Like your inability to realise you're probally not going to find these people and even if you did the man hours you wasted to give these kids a slap on the wrist for something they realised was stupid already wont be worth it. - zbeast, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Gods people that was not that bad.
The way everyone was talking I was thinking it was some 5 year old hainging on for
deal life while a street gang rev's there Yamaha r1 to 187mph.
I dont know about you but I have done stunts like this by hand and ya we could get those things up to about 10mph by hand and flick fokes off.
The scooter.. just made it easyer. I'm sure the person got a few bangs but there not
dead and have suffred less harm that some of the yokes that I see doing bigs off roofs
on skates.
Everone just take a chill pill. - exsst, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Same here.. People just keep saying "stupud teens".. To be honest, Yes I've played on the roundabout, yes I've been spun very quick.. but these girls expected the guy to slow down... I see no funny side of this... I guess the people laughing at it are as stupid as the guys on the scooter?
I mean, they obviousely cannot stretch their mind to realize that 'Hey, maybe the girls didn't think the guys wouldn't spin it so fast?"... People don't walk into fire you know.
I think this is horrible and I hope they are ok. - NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -1/+91. People do stupid things.
2. People have always done stupid things.
3. People will continue to do stupid things.
4. There is never a shortage of stupid ideas.
5. Removing this video will eliminate the awarness of the dangers of riding on a merry-go-round spun by a motorcycle wheel, and may very well discourage hundreds, perhaps thousands who MIGHT have considered trying this from doing it.
6. This video may encourage someone to do something like this.
In my opinion, 1-5 outweigh #6. - drycounty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Darwin would be proud.
Let's hope they skip off before they can reproduce. - SmeRndmGy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7"I'm pretty sure it's safe to say no one(with a brain) would emulate that after seeing the video."
And if they do, it is a perfect example of Darwinism in action. -
