- yetAnotherCroc, on 11/19/2007, -4/+105what can I say, the waters around the Pirate Bay are full of hidden reefs and treacherous currents. Many have tried to attack, all have run aground at some point. The shipwrecks speak for themselves. This will be no different.
- Audacitor, on 11/19/2007, -12/+108What are you supposed to get from taking pictures of TPB admins? What are you supposed to get from sueing TPB? For that matter, what are you supposed to get from trying to control fire sharing? Idiots! Wake up! This is the Internet, and you are not in, never were in, and never will be in, control of it. Take the money you get from CD purchases, and instead of wasting it on something you'll never win, pay your employees, pay your bills, and go and enjoy time with your friends and family!
And PHUWK THE RIAA until you do! - geoken, on 11/19/2007, -6/+74Prince hates pirates. He's pissed because they can do what he never could, namely; wear ruffled shirts while not looking totally gay.
- H0ns, on 11/19/2007, -4/+70Prince is still alive?
- implied, on 11/19/2007, -4/+55I believe now would be a good time for TPB admins to begin dessing like Prince
- Chompy, on 11/19/2007, -1/+45You don't understand, this is Prince we're talking about. Those guys are going to walk into the office one morning and find Prince hanging from the ceiling, licking a giraffe. He can't be reasoned with. He doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear.
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -1/+35Game, blouses. Let's go get some pancakes.
- thinkfirst87, on 11/19/2007, -1/+34Who downloads Prince?
- chummel, on 11/19/2007, -6/+38Isn't that what you do if you want people to listen to your music? Tell them to f*ck off and make them pay for something that isn't worth it?
What a dick. - Chaoticfist, on 11/19/2007, -3/+31Prince is an idiot. He will not win. Anyway if there is sudden sueing of the pirate bay im gona donate $20. As well i bought one of their shirts. So guys support the pirate bay even if its just a couple o bucks do your part.
- AM6278, on 11/19/2007, -0/+25Prince won't sue, he will challenge them to a game of basketball.
- blarneystone, on 11/19/2007, -1/+22I'm deleting all Prince songs, so you won't have to worry about me sharing any....I'm no longer a fan
- lithera, on 11/19/2007, -2/+23Those admins must have balls of steel.
I just can't help wondering how it must feel to run a operation that is number one on the most wanted list from almost every media cooperation on the face of the earth
Billions of dollars at their disposal just waiting to annihilate you, scary thought - morphie, on 11/19/2007, -6/+25We need Super-Stallman here!
- jeuhrn, on 11/19/2007, -1/+19Fire isn't cool, it's hot!
- Detritus, on 11/19/2007, -1/+18I like your typo of "trying to control fire sharing", because that is an apt metaphor. Fire is pretty cool stuff, it is only natural for social creatures to share it. Trying to contain it will either result in an explosion or snuff the fire.
- getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -2/+16If he wins a case, maybe he'll be able to afford some new ruffled shirts.
- murf43143, on 11/19/2007, -6/+15Some dood who doesn't know his name VS. the last true pirates standing on this earth.
Gee, who will win. - abandonedhero, on 11/19/2007, -3/+12Wrong. The Pirate Bay doesn't hold anyone's copyrighted content. They're a search engine. You know, like the Google search engine everyone has grown to love.
- spyrochaete, on 11/19/2007, -0/+9No one died from an outbreak of music.
- abandonedhero, on 11/19/2007, -0/+9Because those guys capturing ships off of the coast of Somalia aren't pirates...
- jeuhrn, on 11/19/2007, -2/+9You can't make ***** like that up.
- justinp, on 11/19/2007, -0/+7Neither is it illegal to yell "MUSIC!" in a crowded theater.
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -5/+12Prince is a douche.
- haker0, on 11/19/2007, -5/+12Sorry but this is a terrible argument to support copyright infringement.
Your argument can be equated to going out to a restaurant, eating the food, and then saying you are not going to pay because you don't think the food was worth it.
(yes i expect to be dugg down but you not liking my point does not make it any less true) - inactive, on 11/19/2007, -2/+9If they're breaking the law, how come the Swedish police had to give all their stuff back after they got raided? They're breaking US law, but they're not in the US.
- blacklilyninja, on 11/19/2007, -0/+7i actually supported prince by going to his concerts which are his bread and butter. I will no longer do that.
Goodbye Prince - inactive, on 11/19/2007, -1/+7I did, god I feel dirty...
- eatsushi, on 11/19/2007, -0/+6Yep, he's still wearing that purple outfit too.
- jehanr, on 11/19/2007, -2/+8But Price was giving away his new album for free anyway!?!?!?
http://www.usatoday.com/life/music/news/2007-06-29 ... - Vegiemaster, on 11/19/2007, -1/+7As long as he doesn't play his song, 1999, and cause the third impact!!
No one will get this, but trust me, it's nerdy. :( - inactive, on 11/19/2007, -1/+7You win the greatest idea of the day award. A+
- gothicform, on 11/19/2007, -3/+8Perhaps said PB admins could use anti stalker and anti harassment laws that are on the book in Sweden to sue Prince :)
- netzdamon, on 11/19/2007, -1/+6You obviously are not reading enough xkcd
- jacquesm, on 11/19/2007, -0/+5you should do a bit of googling, try Janis Ian or Courtney Love.
here, let me give you a hand:
http://janisian.com/article-internet_debacle.html - joerod, on 11/19/2007, -5/+10this sounds like a plot of a good movie and if it does become a movie, i cant wait to get the torrent off pirate bay
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -3/+7If they want to get paid, and can't do it with music, maybe they should get a job at Burger King. If they want to make the argument that there won't be any music if everyone is "stealing" it, well, I'll call their bluff.
- SpencerMc, on 11/19/2007, -4/+8Most fast food places will, in fact, refund your money or make you another meal if you are unsatisfied with yours. And yes, I consider Prince the fast food of music.
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -0/+4Taxes are thievery, but I still pay them.
- groverblue, on 11/19/2007, -0/+4Oh *****, would that be funny? TPB should challenge Prince! Decide the case over the court, winner takes all!
- rabidg00se, on 11/19/2007, -1/+5jesus christ you win
- roomforpanic, on 11/19/2007, -1/+5Tell that to Meredith Hunter
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meredith_Hunter - MaxPayne3476, on 11/19/2007, -2/+6Ugh, once again, your analogy is INCORRECT. In the restaurant you PHYSICAL took something from them. In the RIAA's case, all I did was make a copy of something I WAS NOT going to purchase anyways. In one, they lost food and received nothing. In the other, they lost nothing, yet, gained nothing as well.
- hotdigg, on 11/19/2007, -0/+4Rrrrrrrrrr, load the cannon matey, we're being attacked by a peashooting idiot in a rowboat... Rrrrrrrrrr!
- Matt2k, on 11/19/2007, -0/+4It doesn't matter if TPB loses their advertisers. They should just go on tour, or sell t-shirts or something. That's where the real money is, anyway.
- anjinash, on 11/19/2007, -0/+4Typically, if you steal something from somebody.. they no longer possess that which has been stolen. File sharing, which one can debate the morality of for decades and still be at a stand-still, is not by definition "stealing". It's copying.
While the Pirates Bay knows what goes on on their own site and servers, they do not host any of the alleged files. They host torrent files - little text files that tell your client where to look for pieces of the file you want. Certainly a gray area, but not illegal where they live. - CaptainHarlock, on 11/19/2007, -0/+3The admins should walk up to those camera-toting cars and ask the photographers how they should pose. Perhaps the admins should also hand out 5x7 glossy pictures of themselves to the stalkers.
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -0/+3Right after he ***** over the company that had his recording contract. He changed his name and pulled all sorts of stunts to make his contract worthless while he was bound to it. Say, I wonder if it is ok to download the music he recorded then, or if he considers that worthwhile now?
- physphd, on 11/19/2007, -3/+6Dear god, here we go again: What, exactly, is being stolen? What good or service is Prince losing the use of? How can he lose money he's never had? Further still, even if something was being stolen, which no legal authority has ever accused any file-sharer of, TPB is an indexing service. The host none of the files of interest. What law does that break?
Did you mean copyright infringement? That is nothing like theft. They even exist under completely different legal codes (civil and criminal). And why would TPB be subject to US civil code? Prince does not have to like or even approve of the laws of another sovereign nation. It is their business. If he doesn't like it he doesn't have to tour their and his record company doesn't have to sell there.
If you don't even have the basic vocabulary to discuss the matter, perhaps a bit more research is in order. Mindlessly throwing out names of crimes because you don't like what TPB does is one step short of a 2 year-old's tantrum. If your neighbor gets a speeding ticket do you call them a murderer? Why not? They're both "bad." - Denamite, on 11/19/2007, -0/+3Wait, Isn't Maddox whole internet-fame-thingy built around hiding behind a screen making snide comments?
