- holyskeleton, on 09/12/2008, -9/+120***** TV-stations.
- SultS, on 09/12/2008, -2/+66The article is not completely accurate. TPB did not get e-mail from the father. As is written in Peter Sundes blog, there were different people (spammers, as Peter says), who sent e-mails requesting removal of the images and/or torrent.
- Kasot, on 09/13/2008, -1/+64Here is the debate on SVT:
http://svt.se/svt/road/Classic/shared/mediacenter/ ...
The whole thing was disgusting. Brokep (Peter Sunde) showed up because he was promised a debate "on a higher level", that is, should these reports be cencored or not before made public and what impact the internet has on the issue. Instead, he had to answer questions like "would you've removed these pictures if they were of your own children?" and "Don't you feel any responsebility for your fellow human beings?" (That last one from an ugly woman who keeps poking him in the shoulder. )
TBH I'm amazed he didn't just get up an leave. - heartsblood, on 09/13/2008, -3/+53Wow that was ***** dirty. Brokep is right, the availability of information is more important than who is hurt. I'm sorry if that comes off as heartless but we need a free flow of information more today than ever.
Ps. I didn't notice the PB trial was so close. I'm terrified that they could actually be convicted. It's not so much of what they host that could be lost that bothers me. It's that TPB is the last vassal of freedom of speech left and I'm frightened beyond words of what a conviction could mean. - audomatix, on 09/13/2008, -2/+44As Pirate Bay will explain... it's a link and the whole site is made up of user submitted torrents. None of which the Pirate Bay actually host. The media is doing this for the sole purpose that they can't touch The pirate Bay legally so hey next best thing....
- halicore, on 09/13/2008, -7/+44***** the MSM - TPB is doing what's right.
- davidbeile, on 09/13/2008, -3/+39***** the Media.
- Stevethegreat, on 09/13/2008, -2/+36Multiple sources of which authenticity you can partially test. In traditional media they have to make up your mind, in the Internet you have to make up your mind of what is most probably an accurate reporting and what's not.
- torrentfreak, on 09/12/2008, -3/+36You're right. Corrected.
- CrushThemTorg, on 09/13/2008, -0/+27The offending content was in the middle of a 2,500 page PDF that was public record. TPB has no cause to remove it and, macabre as it is, I think they did a good thing for open government. Those TV douchebags should be apologizing for pandering to sensationalism and lying to get Sunde on their program.

- nwoantibody, on 09/13/2008, -5/+20Im for replacing the entire ***** television w/ Pirate Bay.
***** tv anyways, internet is so much better.
Internet tv = internet, so stfu - zeabu, on 09/13/2008, -7/+22What makes the internet more trustable?
- noahgelman, on 09/13/2008, -0/+14This site is called Digg but we aren't related to any construction company. Just because they are called The Pirate Bay doesn't mean they do anything illegal. And obviously you've never been to The Pirate Bay site because then you would know that they provide links to a host of other things like Textbook .pdf's People (like me) can't afford $150 textbooks. They also link to old movies that are hard to find and also to programs that I want on my computer and many other things. It's people like you who just assume it's all terrible with out even considering all the positives that The Pirate Bay provides.
- handheldchimp, on 09/13/2008, -3/+15***** THE RI...Press?
- masti1234, on 09/13/2008, -0/+11"The case files, including the autopsy photos are available to the public upon request, but they are not officially posted online. However, it didn’t take long before someone decided to upload a .torrent to The Pirate Bay, pointing to the files documenting the police investigation."
If they are available to public upon request it means that if the public WISHES to it can FREELY get access to these pictures/documents anyway. A .torrent file with the same information facilitates exactly that. If you are going to be disturbed by it or find it disgusting, DON'T download it. No one is forcing you to download a torrent. You are doing it voluntarily which absolutely complies with the law in the respective country (where the website is hosted) so legally thepiratebay is not at fault. Ethically ? well, thats another subject altogether.
Edit: But overall it brings the investigation into the public eye which encourages transparency and facilitates a fair trial so this information being available is good if you look at it this way - BrandonJM, on 09/13/2008, -1/+12Hate to say it, but the press won't care and most people outside of Digg won't either.
- Branbot, on 09/13/2008, -2/+12Wow, I can't believe there are that many noobs who still don't understand how Pirate Bay works, welcome to the 21st century.
- thesonofdarwin, on 09/13/2008, -0/+10Your name suggests that you are a beverage spawned from sin. Names mean nothing.
- TurnipFarm, on 09/13/2008, -0/+10Actually he meant "vassal", as in servant to a superior (and in this case, divine) being or ideal: omniscience.
Keep licking that sweaty ***** of self-indulgence though. - 808ethan, on 09/13/2008, -0/+9They are just trying to get Piratebay to remove ONE torrent, making it 1000% easier to make them remove another, then another, then another..
Its basically the Southpark episode where Cartmen tries to get Family Guy off the air.
Go download it from PB and see! - hater2win, on 09/13/2008, -2/+11***** it! We'll do it live!
- ripple123, on 09/13/2008, -2/+10my phone company is like totally responsible for having the telephone numbers of bad people in their phonebook. CURSE THEM...
- thesonofdarwin, on 09/13/2008, -1/+9The primary purpose of the Pirate Bay is to allow users to communicate with each other. It's a playground with no rules. TPB simply provides the space. Is Microsoft responsible if I use Outlook to email you a pirated file? What about the two ISPs or the pipe the file travels through? What about your computer manufacturer? No. They provide you with tools; if you use them illegally you subject yourself to prosecution. TPB has plenty of legal content. Their name implies they are sick of government and corporation bullying. We all are. If the gov/corps have a legal issue, the proper means of dealing with it is pursuing the individual breaking the law.
- inactive, on 09/13/2008, -1/+9link to torrent plz
- Fuzzyslippers, on 09/13/2008, -0/+8You are stupid. Get off my internet.
- felipe1982, on 09/13/2008, -0/+7TPB may die, but sharing WILL NEVER DIE. Kill one mosquito, all bugs will live on.
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 09/13/2008, -1/+8Um, why are these pictures available to the public...period?!
I'm fine with them being distributed far and wide as long as it is legal, but isn't there a right of privacy for the dead and their family here? - Devotia, on 09/13/2008, -0/+7its purpose...is to purvey illegal material."
Do me a quick favor? Could you point out which laws are being broken, or find any illegal material being supplied by TPB?
Just one will suffice. - KaivenTor, on 09/13/2008, -0/+7The question still remains whether legally and publicly available information should be observed over the moral objections of some people. Obviously, you cannot please everyone, but should the minority have the ability to shut down access to information available to the majority?
It's appalling how this media station twisted the story around to dramatize a non-existent case just so they could probably grab ratings or get out some manager's bias against the website. - Fuzzyslippers, on 09/13/2008, -0/+7Said the troll menacingly.
- thegrimreaper3, on 09/13/2008, -1/+7That's what I'm thinking.. Honestly I would have gotten up and just walked off and said ***** you to the producer who is probably standing right off camera with a clipboard... thats considering it was as much of a trap as he makes it out to be.
- ileftfark, on 09/13/2008, -0/+6"I'm a 29-year old copywriter living in Orlando." ~ tbredofsin

thats a keeper - tbredofsin, on 09/13/2008, -1/+5The traditional media has a whole plethora of problems, but the internet has just as many--the foremost of which is reliability of information distributed.
- inactive, on 09/13/2008, -1/+5***** everyone but TPB.
