- randfish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15There's no way this tool can handle the traffic - sorry gang. We've got a good server, but the tool itself makes a few dozen requests at a time, and 500 people trying to run reports simultaneously on one box is just too much. We're working to make it static and ask folks to come back later.
Just wondering why this got submitted now? It's been around for several months... - duniyadnd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Well, you're getting dugg down more for the fact because you said get a "real web server" which is probably not the problem. Smaller sites can cope is because they can cache their pages, whereas this service is running dynamic information and using up resources in trying output that data. The fact that the site loads up quickly and specifies that there are too many reports running shows they can handle a ton of traffic hitting their page, but they can't handle too many processes running at the same time. So you're getting dugg down for having an "inaccurate" comment.
- adjustafresh, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15The truth is great. Being a pompous geek is why you're being penalized.
- IbnDigg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I think the webmaster has deliberately disabled that page to stop his site from getting farked.
- Inoko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Because clearly, a smilie-face means you're joking. No one has ever used those to cover up sarcasm or annoyance or anything. ;)
- egotripping, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12And now your going to get dugg down further for bitching about it.
- squirrelza, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7What the heck? Dead already
http://www.duggmirror.com/ although you won't be able to run it. - afreytes, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Darth User: Server, I find your lack of page strength disturbing.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@Wimax: Stop spamming the same link in all your comments (this is like the third comment on a digg post I've seen that damn "top 500 keywords" bs)
- abouthere, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I take it you've now pulled the page since it 404s?
- Chewie67, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@wimax - nice list.
The #7 most frequent search is "from"???
I'm not sure if I trust that... - diggersupreme, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I've been using this for some time. It provides a much more accurate overview than Page Rank.
Its pretty on par with how I would rank a website myself doing more long winded research of backlinks, PR, pages indexed, top search terms, traffic rank etc. - Fluxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2We throttled the tool to limit the number of simultaneous reports to a "digg friendly" level. So we're all good, the server should be running smoothly. If you go to the tool and it tells you that there are too many reports currently running, refresh the page every so often and you should be able to load the form to run the report.
- landexcorp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I really like your web site randfish, use it all the time! I just discovered it recently.
- diggnate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2is there a way you could post the source? If so, some of us with web space could ease the burden for you.
- dvdmon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ok, I finally got it to work. My blog got a 3.5. I was actually a little surprised links from Digg wasn't one of the metrics!
- onreact, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Not new but worth mentioning again and again ;-)
Does not work well for sites not written in english. Strong US/UK bias. - Ajajadude, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Just too many people using it. Give it some time.
- dvdmon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've done this but even when the form comes up it still gives that error once you submit. I'm just reloading the report page now but so far still get the same error (maybe 7 or 8 refreshes over 4-5 minutes)...
Ok, just finally started to process! - xicoperon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I thought you might have released the new version you are working on ..... but i guess not ...
- GrahamStw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Agreed. My Australian site has loads of links from gov.au sites, but these don't contribute to the .gov score.
Also the WayBack machine lists my site, but PageStrangth says data not available.
Still, quite a handy tool. - kenmantx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You crazy guys!
- toprank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hey Rand, maybe savingadvice was taking stuntdubl's advice from the WebProNews video at Pubcon. :)
- GrahamStw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You can run it from duggmirror - but you get this message:
"The PageStrength tool is currently being swarmed by Diggers (you crazy guys). We're working our hardest to have it back up and running at least a few reports at a time in the next 20-30 minutes. Sorry for the delay. In the meantime, you can read a good bit about the report and how it works on this page from the blog ( http://www.seomoz.org/blogdetail.php?ID=1209 ) or view a sample report ( http://www.seomoz.org/tools/ps_sample.html ). And do try again around noon PST, as we expect to have a partial solution at that time. Thanks much - Rand" - Barnonski, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This could be a great tool for someone who is looking to start a new e-business. After you've bought the e-real estate, it's important to know that you have a website people can work with.
- Capzap, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ERROR: There are currently too many reports running. Please try your report again in a few minutes. We apologize for the inconvenience - we are upgrading our servers this week to avoid these delays. haha
- COinOR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sweet tool. even when i entered my domain i got the error message. the page automatically refreshed maybe 10 times and landed on my report. unfortunately it told me what i already knew: my company's site needs some work.
- opcis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Definitely helpful. I use it often to help gage the power of site for advertising purposes.
- MikeWeller, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1>> Can't contact servlet runner at localhost:6810
Java. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0if youre starting from scratch: http://digg.com/mods/Gaming_Google_Building_a_Site_Just_for_Google_Love
- UtterChaos, on 12/03/2007, -0/+0http://www.thechaosnode.com is pretty cool site, but how can i get its page rank up?
- isgblog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice to find a transparent alternative to Google's secretive PageRank. I use the page strength bookmarklet and Gina Trapani's About This Site extension for Firefox every day.
- Chtiwi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0voici une bonne explication en détail http://www.xcess.info/fr/comprendre_le_google_pagerank_en_detail_afr.aspx
- batterybattery, on 11/18/2007, -0/+0great tool. I think it's better than the page rank.http://www.batteryfast.com/tool-battery/dewalt/ http://www.batteryfast.com/tool-battery/makita/
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+6No, you get dugg down AND blocked for being a moron. Bye!
- Elektriq, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2omgfunny
- jasonber, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Nothing new.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+0This is somewhat useless. You can't sell links based on qualitative 'page strength'
- crispytown, on 10/12/2007, -14/+6I think they need to run their 'Page Strength' tool through some Page Strength Tests. LoL
I bet their score would be 1... LoL - abouthere, on 10/12/2007, -15/+5duniyadnd - I can accept that and entirely agree with you
I had my tongue firmly in my cheek when I made the comment (hence the smile after it), unfortunately some folk don't have a sense of humour and confuse humour with pompousness.
No skin off my nose. - greymarketbrain, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1404 Error - Not Found

typical! - abouthere, on 10/12/2007, -42/+10Up to 44 diggs and their service can't cope already - that's a poor show.
Come back when you boys have a real web server ;-)
Dugg down for being lame (as in unavailable)
