- jericko, on 11/19/2008, -7/+241This sucks as its not as convenient to read the digital edition when you are doing your business on the toilet.
- aletoledo, on 11/19/2008, -8/+115I smell a bailout coming!
- sphira, on 11/19/2008, -14/+95I think it not so good - fewer options
sad - - douglasr007, on 11/19/2008, -1/+79Eat a beaver!
- MindTrigger, on 11/19/2008, -1/+65They should shut down their ad-infested abomination of a website as well. I refuse to go there to read articles because it makes my eyes bleed. Just go to their website and choose *any* of the articles and look over the page. There is so much ***** going on with each page that it's hard to find the actual article.
You would think a magazine about computers would have a clue about how to design a website computer users won't hate to look at. - ESQR, on 11/19/2008, -2/+63I think it would be more accurate to say 'some' people aren't ready. If anyone is ready - it should be readers of a popular magazine about computing.
- airwalkery2k, on 11/19/2008, -4/+55I like less options too.
- clickmyface, on 11/19/2008, -1/+50Well great, now how will other nerds be able to identify me on the bus? Looks like i'm going to have to break out my old magic the gathering decks, or perhaps even my pogs.
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -6/+52you're an idiot if you don't use your laptop in the bathroom
- macintologist, on 11/19/2008, -4/+42That changed when I got my iPhone
- SkippyDoorknob, on 11/19/2008, -1/+38I remember when PC Magazine was over an inch thick and weight 15 pounds. I think my mailman hated me.
- Paulcs, on 11/19/2008, -6/+42Am I the only person sad about this? I love magazines and they are going the way of the Dodo.
- AdeleMor, on 11/19/2008, -6/+39that's what wireless and laptops are for, duh.
- medfreak, on 11/19/2008, -4/+35And there goes the time when you bought a new magazine from the gift shop, excited to read by what is featured on the cover. You go to open up the magazine, and be welcomed by the smell of freshly baked and printed paper. There is nothing like the tangible sense of flipping a paper in your hand while you are dropping turd bombs in your toilet within the comfort zone of your bathroom.
***** you digital age. - lamberticus, on 11/19/2008, -0/+29Crap, now I have to bring a laptop with me to the bathroom at work...
- din100, on 11/19/2008, -13/+40this not a good move, people are not ready for digital only move
- frazw, on 11/19/2008, -0/+26what am I supposed to do when I'm sitting on the *****?
there is no sufficient portable alternative. digital paper devices simply aren't up to it yet - inactive, on 11/19/2008, -0/+24by firing the majority of the staff
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -2/+25Yes, grammar bad situation this is.
- endgame, on 11/19/2008, -0/+22That sucks, now what's John C. Dvorak going to do? I guess well hear more on the next TWIT.
http://www.dvorak.org/blog/ LOL, had to... - kaje, on 11/19/2008, -2/+24I do! I care about your iPhone, macintologist.
- MindTrigger, on 11/19/2008, -1/+21That's because by the time computer *news* comes out in the magazine, anyone who cares probably already knew about months before it was printed. When was the last time you read a computer magazine and learned something you didn't already know, or couldn't have found online?
- SkippyDoorknob, on 11/19/2008, -0/+18Computer Shopper was even thicker, plus it was bigger in length and width. But trust me, there were huge PC Magazines out there too.
- Bic823, on 11/19/2008, -0/+17To be honest I was a little more rattled by Computer Gaming World/Games for Windows. Those guys were pretty cool.
- lovek, on 11/19/2008, -2/+19Seriously, what the hell are you people doing in there that requires reading material? Get in, drop off the kids, get out.
If you're reading then you're just not concentrating on the task at hand. - lac29, on 11/19/2008, -0/+17Link to the actual announcement instead of this paidcontent link crap ...

What the hell is next? Sports Illustrated? Playboy? Someone stop the madness !!! - macbookhair, on 11/19/2008, -5/+21seems so unsanitary to be using a laptop on the toilet... just sayin
- DrunkenPirate34, on 11/19/2008, -0/+16Its relaxing...
- qwertyxuiop, on 11/19/2008, -7/+22I like less waste and less cost
- energizere2, on 11/19/2008, -5/+20PC Magazine not good anyway.
- PrestonM, on 11/19/2008, -3/+18This is horrible. Digital just doesn't compete with a tangible magazine.
- Jookly, on 11/19/2008, -1/+16they will digg you down but I am with you, that magazine was a big advertisement.
- theberlindoctor, on 11/19/2008, -0/+13Wow. PC's are infinitely more popular than in 1982, yet PC mags are dropping like flies.
RIP PC Mag and GFW.. you will be missed. - breckinshire, on 11/19/2008, -0/+13Your comment stinks.
- Totz83, on 11/19/2008, -0/+12Are you sure?
1] Yes
2] Yes - Blade9932, on 11/19/2008, -0/+12Damn, now what am I going to use to hit my fellow intern with when he says stupid *****? Wired? PopSci? PCMag just felt right in my hand...
- bimtott, on 11/19/2008, -3/+15My Adblock plugined eyes beg to differ.
- ibeetle, on 11/19/2008, -5/+17I am surprised it has taken this long for technical and electronic magazines to go all digital.
I go to dozens computer, gaming and general electronic sites a month. MacWorld, 1Up, Game Rankings, PC Magazine, Computerworld, etc. And yet I have not purchased a print edition in at least two years, and been at least 5 more sense I was a subscriber.
Why buy the print edition that was written and put together 3 months ago when their own websites have current and more up-to-date information. - daimposter, on 11/19/2008, -3/+14it's sad to hear when a paper edition is eliminated. although a magazing might not be as up to date with information or as interactive as an online edition, it's easier to read a paper edition at your own convenience. I like to lay on my couch or bed reading a magazine sometimes rather than go to the computer and read from my monitor.
- YuriSakazaki, on 11/19/2008, -0/+11All I see here is "APPLE CHANGES THE WORLD A LOT", stop being a shill.
- ChronicColonic, on 11/19/2008, -0/+11Some books have lasted centuries. Ever try to watch a VHS tape that is 20 years old?
- chamblah, on 11/19/2008, -0/+11and i'll miss sitting on the toilet with a magazine.
i can sit with a laptop, but it's not the same keeping that stash of unread computer magazines next to the toilet. - ChronicColonic, on 11/19/2008, -1/+12great...10 years from now when everything is digital, proof of prior existence will be electronic and wiped out with EMF from nukes. No one will ever know how advanced we've become.
/doomsday scenario - mediaspree, on 11/19/2008, -1/+11Playboy for sure once hef croaks. There is no way they'll be able to compete with internet porn and future 3d porn and holographic porn and porn robots to have sex with. Man I really like porn.
- farfegnugen, on 11/20/2008, -0/+10Scientific American works well. It also allows you the added pleasure of yelling "You just got owned by science!" if you so choose.
- captainmo77, on 11/19/2008, -1/+10No more pc mag?...and you thought you heard enough plugs for dvorak.org/blog.
