- 7of7, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I don't see why people have so much trouble with Windows. I've used it for more than a decade and haven't ever had any trouble. I've used other OSs like Debian and various Mac OS options, but none of them seemed nearly as stable or user friendly as Windows. I think it's basically sour grapes. I wish someone would make a decent Linux distro at some point so that the principle of GNU and OSS wouldn't be so porrly served by all the power user BS.
- RiPpeR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I personally haven't had any problems with XP other than a few Trojans that were easily taken care of, before i had 98se and it had its flaws but I'm pretty satisfied with what I have now and I'm sure vista will be equally as good. Plus I've never once had to say (and I've seen alot of it) "I wish there was a Mac version"
- tfaz1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Windows isn't bad, but OS X Tiger blows it out of the water. In fact, Apple has been making a more stable, elegant OS since the inception of OS X. I understand why people use Windows and most of it has to do with $.
If you can afford a Mac and you aren't a gamer, there's no reason to use Windows. None. - Magnum2066, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Windows Media Player? Sorry, no digg for a crappy video codec."
Your loss. - simX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Windows Media Player? Sorry, no digg for a crappy video codec.

I agree. I never have too much trouble with Windows. I have tried out using Linux as my desktop machine many times and I always come back to windows because it's easier to use and to play nice with others. My machine never crashes. I'm not saying it's perfect, but it's the best OS to suit my personal needs. - teco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0^
I Agree. - Capand, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that was gold...
- JackandCoke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I just thought that Ctrl+Alt+Del was what Bill Gates does to other companies that are competition for Microsoft. Control, Alter, and Delete.
- elistian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hahaha OWN3D!

sorry, always wanted to do that :p - teamparadox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No sense of humor...? Doubtfull, that was an attack on his money maker and it was a big one. Thats like you inventing a product and having someone tell you its ****, whether its true or not isnt the point. On a side note the Microsoft Police cut off 3 of that guys toes the next day and put them in a cup of Wendy's Chile
- ongie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Bill got pwn3d.
- digital_ice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Mexrocker is the fu.king dup police.
- Akia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great clip... For those who are not experiencing problemss with Windows is because, in general, they're not really pushing the OS enough. Most people often install many programs and games which will screw up windows at some point. If you just use the system fresh out of the box and don't install anything on it, don't multi-task, don't work too fast, and it'll work fine for decades.
- kloud213, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0BURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- WickedOwl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0there is a logical explanation for that. that was before bill had his laugh processor installed, so take it easy.
- yuannerz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0haha. gates looks like he's gonna shoot lasers out of his eyes or something.
- NINJ4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I prefer alt-f4 ;D

I know this is presumptious of me but if you have NEVER had any trouble with a Windows OS in 10 years, then I would guess you have never connected to the Internet, never installed a program and never updated a device driver.
Having said that, Windows XP can be quite stable and generally works well, as did Windows 2000 before it; however Microsoft puts user-friendliness and "wait, let me do that for you" convenience before security almost every time.
That was perhaps laudable back in the innocent days of personal computing before everyone got connected to the Internet. In these days, it's a mindset that has helped foster spyware and zero-day security exploits.
It sounds like they may be trying to get away from the "convenience at all costs" model with Vista, but time will tell. - snapcase, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've never seen this one before. Good digg.
- superwick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0to 7of7 and twistymcgee:
The reason why people have problems with Windows is because probably 75% of windows users don't know any better when opeing email attachments, running windows update, scanning for virus/spyware, etc.... This is why they run into problems. Peope don't want to have to spend their time FIXING and PREVENTING bad things on their PC, they just want to use it.
This is why Macs are so good.
(disclaimer: I use Windows, Linux and Macs, so not a fanboy of any particular side, but I will say I prefer using my Mac for almost everything I use a computer for.) - zone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0lmao good digg
- mr_n00b, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Absolutely hilarious. One of the best diggs this week.
- trongod05, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Another disappearing digg
- SlashNot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0lol thats funny. billy didnt like that at all.
- cuinheaven3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ug they took down my digg!
- twistymcgee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0RiPpeR - I agree. That would be my second gripe with switching to mac "how can I get a certain app for mac". Of course my first would be "how do I pay for this thing now?" =)

I don't agree with that at all. I push my system pretty hard. I think a lot of the problems with windows are the third party drivers and software. I think windows gets blamed for a lot of things that are the result of poor 3rd party applications. There are plenty of security flaws in windows, but I can guarantee that neither linux nor mac are perfect. Give them both time and they will have their share of flaws. - usmarinesjz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0DUPE

i love ctrl-alt-del. its a part of the culture. apple's is kinda option-command-esc, use it a lot too. - JeffS, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I have to agree with 7of7. I don't know why so many people complain of problems and why so many people insist they have to reinstall every few months.
- antiwmac, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I hate flash, flash doesnt release one for 64bit :( and flash aint opensource so i cant build 64bit ver :(
