- Pic0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Should have used Google Maps before driving out there...
- HanSolo69, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8i instantly Digg down people who cry "conspiracy" when stories hit the front page. I don't buy the whole "i have no free will and must look at and comment on their stories." it's lame.
- Tweekster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I suppose it would have been, you know, a good idea to go and visit the land first...
these people are idiots. plain and simple - Arramol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It happens all the time.
- Emptythought, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i always just figure it's someone who has an axe to grind with the person who posted the story.
still ***** lame though, internet vendettas are the most pathetic kind. - Fett101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Idiots or naive
Then again, they said some auctions had pictures. You would surely be able to fight for you money back if they had false pictures misrepresenting the property. - lobsang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Not only idiots. They're GREEDY.
I had two exceedingly greedy coworkers falling for this scam. They'll try anything to make a quick buck. The same two were into "suing companies" and "buying Iraqi currency, as it's going to soar very soon...".
C'mon... - PhantomZmoove, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes but some of the people selling the plots (according to the article) are from other countries. I think that makes the whole "money back" thing a little harder. I would guess that most of the people that fell for the scam are just SOL.
- lobsang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Making a profit out of greed and stupidity is an old business model. Actually, any business that explores the "seven capital sins" is profitable, ever noticed that?
- chatty82, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You should have figured out that land (or an apartment) you attempt to negotiate for on the Internet might be ancient history and not there any more. You should go and look at anything you want to buy online. You wouldn't want to buy a trailer park in Arizona that turned out to be a lake...
- davids1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Profiting off ignorance is a proven business model.
- chatty82, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Gosh, I'd like to get some land in Arizona, but terrorists might bomb the dam they built a few years back on the Colorado River...
- graemee, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1We now know what the second line really stands for in;
1. __Insert something here. For example land fraud___
2. ???
3. Profit - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"It’s immoral to let a sucker keep his money."
Cars, houses, land, etc. are all things that need well written contracts when being purchased online. If you aren't intelligent enough to get what you expect out of the purchase in writing then it's simple, you aren't intelligent enough to keep your money. - EochaidRiata, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Whitewater?
- Oates, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3i mark almost everything chrisek and aaaz post as spam. i don't buy that 25 people dugg this story and got it on the frontpage...it's lame.

What is Digg?
