Obama wants DTV delay, but is it too late to turn back?

arstechnica.com — Edward Markey, the outgoing Chair of the House Subcommittee on Telecommunications, says that Congress should consider soon-to-be President Barack Obama's call to push back the DTV transition from its current deadline of February 17.

  • GruntboyX, on 01/09/2009, -0/+10What data supports the idea that we need to push back the DTV transition? No matter how long we prepare, educate and beg people to remember the switch, there will always be a significant faction that will be caught flat footed.

    Throw the switch!

    Its not fair to the companies that have purchased the licenses for the airways, nor all the broadcaster that invested tons of infrastructure to make the switch. Furthermore, The delay of the transition will cause more pandemonium, because even more people wont get the memo of the delay.

    are you kidding me? you can't turn on the tv anymore without seeing dtv answers commercials or local news stations talking about the switch
