- nos4a2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wow, beautiful - war as art?
- laser314, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"This video makes me sick to be an American"
This doesn't show how bad Americans are.. If Russia had had them in WWII do you not think Berlin would be radio active today? Or England during the ZULU wars? (insert a two thousand different sides to a thousand different wars). What it shows is how corrupt mankind is and how desperately we need the Lord Jesus Christ to redeem use before God. - neocitron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1" I don't know what weapons man will fight with in World War 3, but i can tell you, World War 4 will be fought with sticks and stones"
- Albert Einstein - ernesthoffmann, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1another one
http://www.compfused.com/directlink/628/ - Imagine3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1its sad, but if I didn't know what that was, I would think it was absolutely beautiful. Kind of ironic don't you think?
- ernesthoffmann, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The "not boring" one with colors (8 mb)
http://www.big-boys.com/articles/nuclearpower.html - Sonic84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I hadn't seen some of those before, nice, but most of 'em looked like they were only kiloton shots, I didn't see amy megaton shots. if you want more footage of nukes look here:
http://www.vce.com/trinity.html "Trinity and Beyond: the atomic bomb movie" narrated by William Shatner! - efree58, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This video makes me sick to be an American, made me really realize how horable we are to set off not one, but two nuclear bombs in Japan, killing thousands of innocent lives that were at no fault of thier own, killed. I sound like a hippy but I really do feel that the United States and all of mankind is too violent.
- foxhoundadmin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0'"My god, how did we make it through the cold war?"'
"We almost didn't. There were at least two instances where fingers were on the buttons. The world was saved by one no-name Russian guy."
i haven't brushed up on my history in quite a while. could you post a link explaining this particular part of the cold war?
p.s., one of those instances wouldn't happen to be the cuban missile crisis, would it? - WebCester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0US-sceptical != racist
Americans may be a lot, but they're not a race. - laser314, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I am gratefully we used them over Japan when we did. Think about it... If we hadn't used them when we only had TWO we would not have had something to look back on when we later had thousands. Using them in WWII probably saved billions of lives.
- slantyeyed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0thank god for the mute button
- kohno214, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nuclear bombs kick ass!
- jumjum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nuclear war will be much more commonplace in the future, it's a door that won't be closed during this era of pride mixed with a lack of intelligence of world leaders. Keep your cool when it happens.
- ConEEE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I thought this would be just what I was looking for all this time. I'm fascinated by Nuclear weapons and have been constantly looking for high resolution video of them. Unfortunately it seems that these clips are the only ones out there (I've seen them all before).
The bad thing about these videos is that they're all before the 1970s and most of these nukes are under 1 Megatonne. They don't really represent anywhere near what the true effect a nuclear war would have. Imagine central London with 50 of these bombs going off, all dotted around the city at strategic points.
Horrible, horrible invention. - Boondoggle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"This video makes me sick to be an American, made me really realize how horable we are to set off not one, but two nuclear bombs in Japan, killing thousands of innocent lives that were at no fault of thier own, killed. Actually this makes you sound like an idiot, even not counting the bad spelling. You should look into things like Dresden and Tokyo firebombing, and the estimated casualties on both sides of an invasion of Japan in 1945. And you should look at the rate of deaths by war since Hiroshima. It has dramatically and steadily declined since that very day. In that respect 1945-present has been the most peaceful period in recorded human history. - Cheeze_Head, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0^^^ laser314, go fishing much?
- Andy123abc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nuke the whales!
- ploafmaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The irony here is that most people (including me) probably clicked the link so they could see some explosions.
I don't understand Spanish, but I think the post on the website is intending to show how awful nuclear weapons are. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Pretty scary.
- Zlobadon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Would be much cooler if it weren't in that lame ass format and size, and there were some going off over Mexico and France... Try http://www.youtube.com/v/0MB9tirHbMg for a bigger view.
- warmonger48, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My god, how did we make it through the cold war?
I am become death, the destroyer of worlds.
-J. Robert Oppenheimer - orangetiki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I am only guessing there shots from the places that dropped the bombs on Hiroshima and nagasaki. If so, then the nukes of today are 200x that. You could take out a time zone with just one from today. And we can launch multiple.
- Flyngwalrus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0... Dr. Strangelove?
- twogunsalute, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It would be cool to find out how much of an area it covers during the explosion.
- Buddybot111, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That was sweet, amazing the power we have. I agree beautiful.
- rspeed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What the hell? The music was a freaking MIDI!
- underoath_777, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Already saw it, very scary.
- republicoftexas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Those posts are crazy. I didnt realize how much everyone hates us.
They only hate us because they need us. Without the US the world would go into a second dark age. People will always hate someone they need for their own survival. You also must remember that only an extremely small minority are this racist. This kind of racism feeds more(in the US) which means that it will never stop. People will hate others who are different than them forever.....Sad, but true. - adrianguru, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0pretty sweet.
- YamahaSteve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Someone had already mentioned "Trinity and Beyond"... it is a very interesting film about above ground testing... it is available at netflix for those who have that service.
- Cheeze_Head, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Demigod, nice link, thanks!
Yeah, I've always said the best way to prevent nuclear war was to have nuclear weapons. - Zguru, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0check out comment #5. It's pretty sweet!
- phobet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I find a surreal beauty in all those explosions, like I am witnessing the creation of the cosmos. Surreal, but very deadly...
- Osiriscky3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0***** awesome.
"Destroy the orcs"
Three inches of blood.
++DIGG FTW - Daecilius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0seen this video several times...years ago
- ziffel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"My god, how did we make it through the cold war?"
We almost didn't. There were at least two instances where fingers were on the buttons. The world was saved by one no-name Russian guy. - zenghost, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0to think there was an arms race with a whole bunch of those...
- stickyboot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, we definately dont need these.
- Otto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, who are the weiners posted the "scary" comments? That video is just freakin' awesome. Boom! Yeah!
- farfrompuken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that video was awesome... but one of those was just me going to the bathroom after a night at the Mexican restaurant
- YouKnowMe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Those posts are crazy. I didnt realize how much everyone hates us.
- republicoftexas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Here is a direct link to a bigger version so you don't have to put up with shallow racist people on a dumb blog.
http://www.youtube.com/v/0MB9tirHbMg - republicoftexas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Yeah, everyone knows WWII was just a propaganda war."
You should show a little more respect to the 50,000,000 people that died. - DeadlyCouncil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hmm, to think we have enough of those to completely incapacitate the entire planet's ability to sustain life at least 1,000 different times...
and that's just with the ones we know about. - andrewcool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good Movie
- LittleOni, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very nice link,Demigod. It's really scary to think that we're capable of such extremes in our behavior. We can cure most any disease in order to help mankind, but at the same time we're able create something that results in something worse than death...
- pdxkid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0too bad we can't close this Pandora's box
- thatsiebguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think most of those were either Atomic or Hydrogen explosions. The sea based explosions were mostly Hydrogen from the Bikini Atoll. I think the massive one at the end was an actual nuclear detonation. Impressive and scary.
